They were very helpful in the planning process. My dj kept asking me questions during the dance because he wanted to make sure I was happy. The music was very good, but did not play some genres that we would have really enjoyed.
My experience with backspin was absolutely horrible despite all of the good things we had heard. It started with the miscommunication between the owner and the event dj from the beginning, we had scheduled a meeting and then drove an hour to me...
et with the dj, who then called to reschedule when we got to town. The day of the wedding was even worse. The slideshow didnt work, the photobooth broke, the dj barely said 5 words the entire wedding. He played every song on our do not play list and didnt even play me and my husbands song despite it being on the need to play list. The dj then started to play the wrong song for the father daughter dance. After both the slideshow and the photobooth broke at the same time I called the owner to see what could be done and he told me to "settle down" and "stop being emotional about it" It took them over an hour to fix the photobooth and we still have not received our disk of images and they charged us for an extra hour of dance time and my wedding party had to help the dj pack up his truck. I was beyond disappointed. I will never recommend this dj service to anyone and caution anyone who is considering booking this dj.
8/14- Today we received a call from backspin asking us to add a few things to our review. The owner did leave his family dinner to come and fix the slideshow and photobooth and gave us a small refund. However this review has been posted for a very short period of time and they responded faster to this review then they did to sending our refund which took over a month and we still have not received our photobooth images.They also gave us a free hour later in the photobooth but the booth was down for over an hour. Also I feel it is very unprofessional that a company call and ask someone to edit or clarify their review. Just be aware that they will not hesitate to call you if a review is negative and it wont be about what they can do to fix it.

These guys were great as far as listening to what I wanted! A few hiccups in the beginning during dinner music, but the moment I spoke with my DJ things were fixed!
Our DJ was well dressed, prompt, and polite. He did not play all the songs we requested, which was kind of disappointing, but overall we would recommend this company.
They kept my wedding guests on their feet and did a great job with dinner music as well. The photobooth was a huge hit at my wedding and there was never not a line to get a nice pic.

We use Backspin for both our reception DJ and photo booth rental. The quality and professionalism of Backspin was wonderful! They took care of every aspect of our reception so we could sit back and enjoy the night.
We hired Backspin productions to play at our reception and wedding dance. The DJ did a great job however felt like he was a little too quite as the most announcements were lost in space. We also had a photo booth for the dance, it was a hit!!...
I got a scrap book to go along with this, so much fun to look at. We got lots of great comments about our music playlist, loved it! Great time. Slightly disappointed in some of the communication difficulties before the wedding that I felt could have been prevented but overall great job.

We had a very small crow, yet the DJ got EVERYONE to dance while sober. Very impressive. Our DJ was a very nice person. We had an amazing ceremony and a wonderful day. I am glad he was there to make it great with us! Thanks Again.

Towards the end of our mother/son and father/daughter dance (We did them together) their music cut out for about a half hour, but they were totally awesome and willing to work with us. We had a blast at our wedding dance thanks to our DJ!

I found working with Backspin pretty easy. Easy to get a hold of, the website was nice (we got music played that we wanted played), and the variety he played was good. The games were nice for the kissing, but he didn't pay too close of attent...
ion who was doing the clinking, and kept going to people who already knew the answers to the questions we had, so we ended up being interrupted in our meal all the time. It was hard to understand the DJ as well, but he played music that everyone liked.
We did have him for our outdoor ceremony as well, however, it rained. We were going to still have the ceremony outside, as everything was going to be under a Gazebo, but he kept warning us that we would be charged $1000s if the equipment got wet, and he wanted us to move to the reception venue. We finally gave up on him and took a loss of the $400 package we purchased for the outdoor venue, and had a family friend set up his smaller, but just as good, system. Nothing got wet, not even a mist, and it sounded great. Probably should have just went with the family friend in the first place.
But the reception service was good.
The most important thing is that I had fun at my dance, which I did, I had a blast. That being said though, I had some problems with Backspin Productions. For one, their website was hard to use, and I could not request many of the songs I wante...
d to. On top of that, there was a section where you could request songs you couldnt find in their library of music, they didnt find/play any from that list. I had also requested that there not be music aimed towards one group of people, younger club music, till towards the end because I wanted everyone dancing, and not just younger friends. They did not do that, and had club type music playing the entire time, even when I went over and asked for less of that music, and more of others. I also had requested a special song that I wanted played as a surprise and special little thing for my dad, they did not play it. They had a great idea for a game to play instead of clinking on the glass for a kiss, however the exicution of it didnt go so well, and it ended up being a bit disappointing and lame. And the last thing, almost no one could hear our DJ when he spoke because he kept covering the microphone with his hand and speaking with it to his lips (like a club DJ) and it was very frustrating since no one could hear him, and even our own bridal party couldnt hear when it was time for their dance, and all the groomsmen missed it. I did have a good time and had fun, but I feel like I had paid for more, and if i hadnt paid as much, i think I would be giving a much better review.
