Baking On The Bayou is a “made-to-order” bake shop on the bayou in south Louisiana. Their goal for each cake is to create them with quality and aim for the taste to blow you out of the water (swamp water that is). Baking On The Bayou specializes in custom wedding cakes, creative groom's cakes, and celebration cakes of any kind. Owner, Shelby LeCoq, makes sure that you will receive a beautiful and artistic masterpiece that is scrumptious as well. She tries to make this experience one of the fun ones, because she knows first hand how stressful wedding planning can be! Starting with you first email until the cake slice has met your fork, time and effort are put in to make your cake as special to you as it is to her!

If you want one of the best cakes your pallet has ever had, look no further than these ladies! Shelby took my vision of an ombre dusty blue cake with an Up theme and gave it life. When I saw my wedding cake on the day of, my jaw dropped at the sheer beauty of it. She also did our grooms cake, and everyone thought it was an actual pizza at first! Our guests raved about how moist and delicious both cakes were. In true wedding fashion, we did not get to taste our cake (besides the cake photo) until a couple of days later. To no one’s surprise, it was still delicious. A big thank you to Laura-Kate for helping us with a surprise cheesecake for a special someone. She absolutely loved it, and said it was one of the best thank you gifts she had ever received. I would highly recommend this team for all your cake needs. You will not be disappointed!

I cannot say enough about Shelby with Baking on the Bayou!!! She’s done cakes for family for years, and recently did my husband’s and my cake for our wedding. People are still talking about our cakes over a month later! Shelby always makes sure to bring your dreams to life and provides exactly what you want and what you didn’t know you’d want. She takes time to truly talk and get to know you and your style, along with your favorite flavors to make everything come together. The cakes are always moist, fresh, beautiful, and super yummy. Shelby’s talents exceed all expectations, and we were so lucky and satisfied with her work!

Shelby’s cakes are not only delicious but gorgeous! I wasn’t sure what I wanted in a cake but she listened to my likes and dislikes and designed the perfect one. It was far beyond an ordinary wedding cake and I have her to thank for it! My grooms cake was perfect as well as it was exactly what the groom wanted! Her flavor options as well as her talent of decorating them goes above and beyond.

I cannot say enough great things about Shelby and her talent for making gorgeous cakes. She made our wedding and grooms cakes and they came out exactly like we wanted. On top of looking beautiful they tasted AMAZING!!! Definitely the best cake i've every tasted.

My husband and I are so incredibly thankful to have worked with Shelby and Baking on the Bayou for our wedding! Shelby created a fantastic groom’s cake for us. It not only looked incredible but tasted delicious as well. Shelby was responsive, helpful, and great to work with throughout the whole process of ordering and creating our cake. She worked with us to elevate our ideas for the cake to create something truly one of a kind. Her creativity and talent are amazing. The owner/Baker, Shelby, was phenomenal to work with from day one! I had two people text me the week after the wedding asking where our cake was from, and everyone raved about how beautiful and delicious both cakes were during our wedding! I’ll definitely use her again for birthdays.

I am a wedding photographer and Shelby does a lot of the cakes for my brides! Everyone always talks about the cakes and not only do they LOOK amazing, they TASTE amazing! I love taking pictures of them. When I got engaged in October, I was sure to book her for my wedding this coming November. She is so sweet and such a joy to work with! I love supporting young businesses since I own my own business myself and she is hands down my favorite cake baker to work with! Check out pictures of her cakes! They look too good to eat!

Shelby is so talented at her craft. Guests remarked at how beautiful the cakes were and (almost) more importantly, they were delicious! She made a creative combo of golf and duck hunting for our grooms cake-it was a hit! She was easy to work with and we would enjoy working with her again!

Shelby is extremely talented. I had a very specific cake that I wanted that was very unique and not a typical wedding style cake. After meeting with other bakers, and even signing a contract and paying for a cake with someone else, I decided she was the best for the job. I felt like she really understood the look that I wanted, and most importantly she made me feel comfortable. The cake was delicious too! She offers so many different types of fillings that other bakers don't. The raspberry chocolate chip was my favorite.

My guests COULD NOT stop talking about how awesome the wedding and grooms cakes were. Shelby was awesome and made exactly what I wanted. Each tier was a different flavor, and the cake was beautifully designed. I couldn't complain about a single thing. Plus, she is affordable! Even if she were expensive, I would still pay for those cakes. They were so delicious and so beautiful.
