Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! Bay Pointe was everything we expected it to be AND MORE! We rented both the Boathouse Villa and The Pavillion out for our wedding weekend (rehearsal dinner held at the BH and Wedding at pavillion) and it was the most amazing experience. The Boat Hohse was so dreamy and the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner. Not only did we have our rehearsal dinner there but our wedding party also stayed the night there during the weekend since it was so large and held so many people- how perfect!!! When it came to the logistics leading up to the wedding, Stephanie was amazing every step of the way, extremely responsive and always willing to answer any question needed. The weekend of our wedding, Jamie (our coordinator) was absolutely amazing and absolutely blew us away wth her attentiveness and attention to detail. There was not a single flaw during our experience and I would highly recommended this venue to anyone looking for a perfect "Michigan" wedding! The lake added an "up north" feel and made our day extra dreamy and romantic. Guests were able to stay at the hotel right on the property after a night of fun which was so convienet for family and friends who traveled from out of town. I can't say enough about the venue and staff as they did everything to make the whole experience flawless. It was really a dream!! Thank you Bay Pointe for the best weekend and day of our lives! 10/10 would recommend.
We had a wonderful wedding at Bay Pointe. Everything was taken care of the whole weekend that we were there. We did everything there from our rehearsal dinner to brunch Sunday morning. They made planning easy and answered every single question that we had along the way. We planned in only 5 months and when the day came, I wasn't worried at all! From the second that we set foot on the property on Friday for our rehearsal we were greeted with a smile and everything was taken care of. They know exactly what they're doing and are great at it! We loved the all inclusive feel and not having to worry about lots of moving parts! What really made it special for us was our manager on site, Kalynn. She was absolutely fantastic and checked in at every turn.
If you are looking for a wedding venue to host a picturesque, lakefront wedding, look no further, Bay Pointe Inn is it. The location and setting are simply STUNNING without any help needed at all. I barely spent any money on decorations or flowers because the setting by itself was enough. And BPI is definitely a well oiled machine when it comes to hosting weddings. They will cover everything from details to timing to display, and know exactly the right questions to ask to be sure they are executing the bride's vision as closely as possible. Ashley and Stephanie were super communicative and incredibly helpful to ensure all of my questions were answered throughout the whole planning process. Jami, our day-of wedding coordinator, followed everything throughout the day of the wedding to ensure proper timing and execution, and even went so far as to make sure all of our wedding party had a drink in hand the moment we stepped off the boat to join our cocktail hour! (Yes, they offer a pontoon boat for rental for the day, if that's what you're into!) And as a final touch to cap off a most amazing day, the team left a bottle of bubbles and some chocolate covered strawberries in the bridal suite for us at the end of the night (the suite is complimentary with your booking for the night of the wedding!) Many of my guests had never been to Michigan before, and what better way to introduce them to Michigan than to have my wedding at Bay Pointe Inn. All of those really beautiful "Pure Michigan" commercials really capture everything BPI has to offer. Their pricing is extremely affordable, and the food was also excellent! BPI offers a lot of extra add-ons for brides that are interested, everything from late night snacks for guests (which you have to have if providing more than 4 hours of bar time), colored linens, chair cushions, champagne toasts, day of snacks in the suites while the wedding party is getting ready...tons of things. Weather in the midwest can be somewhat touchy in the early summer months, but I got incredibly lucky and had PERFECT weather for my May 12th wedding. 70, sunny, and just a whisper of a breeze. I imagine it can get much hotter in the middle of summer, but anytime you are right by water I think it's that much cooler. In the event of inclement, or colder, weather, BPI has the built-in back up plan at their Lakefront Pavilion, which boasts built in ceiling heaters, and they have plastic curtains they can drop down to protect guests underneath from wind and rain. Otherwise everything is beautiful open air! One note for brides to consider: BPI is a very small hotel, only about 39 rooms in total, so be prepared that depending on the size of your wedding, all of your guests may not be able to stay at the hotel (which is very cute for those lucky enough to stay!). Though there are plenty of nearby hotel options within 20 minutes and a couple of transport services that can coordinate trolley or shuttle transfers. Thanks again to Ashley, Jami, Stephanie, and the rest of the BPI team who really helped to make my wedding a truly memorable, and special day.
Perfect. Our wedding was intimate with approx. 60 guests at the Boathouse Villa. When choosing a venue we wanted an inclusive experience without travelling between the ceremony, reception, etc. and this was the perfect answer. Kaylyn was our Banquet Supervisor that guided us through our ceremony rehearsal the night prior. She was thorough, kind, and detail oriented. Kaylyn had a way of keeping us calm and informed as we made our way through the weekend. The Boathouse provided plenty of room for our wedding party and family to hang out and get ready in leading up to the wedding without feeling crowded. The outdoor patios with lake views provided plenty of space for us to relax in. The "get ready room" in the Boathouse was perfect for our hair/makeup team to come on-site the day of the wedding. The Boathouse also provided many spaces for our photographer (Darren Breen from Grand Haven) to do pre-wedding photos with plenty of unique backgrounds and spaces. We also had breakfast and lunch catered to the Boathouse for our wedding party which was delicious and convenient as we got ready throughout the day. The ceremony and reception were flawlessly executed by the Bay Pointe staff and we couldn't have asked for a better team. Coming from the wedding industry on the venue side of things myself, I had high expectations and they exceeded them all. The team was attentive to us as the bride and groom, our wedding party, and all of our guests and vendors throughout the night. The views throughout the ceremony and reception were perfect. Thank you to Hillary and the whole BPI staff for collectively making our wedding weekend amazing!
We had our wedding ceremony outside and the reception at the Pavilion. We loved the location of Bay Pointe Inn and so did our guests. Our day of coordinator Jamie did a splendid job keeping everything running smoothly! She was very efficient without being pushy and was flexible when our timeline ran behind a few times. Her help that day was a huge relief and I credit the success of that day going well mostly to her efforts. Thank you Jamie. The only reason we took out one star is because of all the nickle and diming that went on. Although the sales staff were also very flexible and worked with us on our budget, sometimes it felt really stressful. We didn't research other venues extensively because we fell in love with Bay Pointe which was only the 3rd venue we visited. Maybe if we had we may have found out that the practices are customary with wedding venues but it was still quite interesting to us. Like charging for an outside vendor fee for our wedding cake (their fee was more than what we paid for our cake), mandating a late night snack at a time when most of our guests were gone and only the groom noticed the food because it was placed outside the pavilion, and charging extra to accommodate dietary needs (which we thought should be complimentary because it was the first thing we mentioned before booking and they said they could accommodate it with no issues. We didn't expect to be charged extra at that time but closer to the wedding we got charged). The list goes on but after much negotiations they waived a few things which we greatly appreciated. Another thing of concern is cellphone service is really sketchy and their wifi signal is not very strong. Overall, we had a wonderful wedding and everyone we worked with were accommodating.
We had a great time at the Bay Pointe! Everyone was so helpful, so professional, and very accommodating to our needs on our wedding day. Our guests had a wonderful time too...raved about the delicious food from the Terrace Grille, the elegant atmosphere, and had such a fun time on the pontoon. Cheers to the BPI for all they did!
We were married on June 11, 2017 at Bay Pointe Inn. The day flowed seamlessly and the staff was helpful and supportive. Not one detail was missed and our wedding was a fairy tail. The resort is incredible and all our guests (who were all from out of town) continue to complement us on choosing such a wonderful location. Our guest have been recommending Bay Pointe not only for weddings but just as a weekend getaway. It was a perfect wedding!
My wife and I loved having our wedding at Bay Pointe Inn. We both live in Chicago, but as she is originally from Michigan, we agreed to having the wedding in Michigan to be closer to her family and friends. We looked at quite a few venues in western MI, but most were either way too expensive or too "low key". Bay Pointe was perfect as its prices were on the lower side, but we felt like we weren't sacrificing anything on quality or class. The Inn's location on Gun Lake is absolutely stunning, and the staff was very accommodating. There are only two downsides of the venue that we can think of. One is that the hotel is not large enough to accommodate all the guests for medium to large size wedding, and many of your guests will have to drive to separate hotels after the reception. As the Inn is in a rural area, there are not many hotels within a short driving distance. The other is that the reception has to be over by 11 PM due to local noise ordinances. We didn't really pursue this option, so I don't know if it is actually possible, but for bride/grooms looking for a longer reception, you may want to consider starting earlier than 5 PM.
We experienced a beautiful wedding/reception this past weekend at Baypointe and cannot say enough great things about this venue! Stephanie, who helped us during the planning process was extremely responsive, timely, and accommodating. The staff the day of and for the rehearsal dinner were professional and speedy! Everyone was top notch. The beauty of this resort was also amazing. You will not go wrong experiencing a wedding at Baypointe Inn. It was a great decision for us!
There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Bay Pointe Inn is!! Our wedding weekend was perfect from the planning prior, assistance with pontoon rental the day before and the details coming together the day of- the staff was amazing! They were gracious, professional, accommodating and fun to work with. Our guests are still talking about how wonderful the venue was and how awesome and accommodating the staff were on our special day. Our perfect day would not have been without their assistance!! Thank You!!
Bay Pointe did an amazing job on our July wedding. The food was amazing and our suites were really nice . The grounds there are beautiful . We got married right on the lake and it was a dream come true! They were professional and made sure everything ran smoothly .
We had such a great experience at Bay Pointe Inn for our wedding. The staff was very accommodating and quick to respond to my questions. The day of the wedding, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend Bay Pointe Inn for a wedding venue!
My husband and I got married @ Bay Pointe in late June, and it was absolutely perfect! From the very beginning Ashley and Stephanie have been there to answer all of our questions and made this entire process fun and easy going! I don't think we can ever thank them both enough, they are incredible! The entire venue is absolutely breathtaking! . We had our Rehearsal dinner and Sunday Brunch at the BoatHouse right out on the patio! For the weekend festivities our event coordinator was Jaimie, she was so perfect! So sweet and calm as can be! She even helped me take off my wedding shoes. The food was incredible, and the late night snack such a great touch! I can't say enough good things about Bay Pointe, their staff are some of the most down to earth and genuine people I have ever met. My husband and I are so happy to have had our wedding here, and look forward to returning to relive all those great memories! Thank you so much Bay Pointe, you guys were amazing!
If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue, you are probably wanting to find a location with breathtaking scenery, incredible service, and great overall value. Well, look no further than Bay Pointe Inn! I was married there on July 13, 2017. We rented out the Lakefront Pavillion and were so delighted with it! The firepit, string lights and tiki torches were SO romantic. We live out of state and planned our wedding in under 4 months. We didn't visit the venue until a week before, but we were confident in all aspects of the planning because of our incredible communication with the wedding coordinators. They were so quick to respond and were always more than polite and helpful. I was a bit concerned about the weather, but they calmed my worry by providing back up plans just in case. The weather turned out to be perfect after all! The service of the coordinators and the wait staff on my big day was absolutely top notch. I felt free to enjoy every moment of it because they had everything under control. Plus the food was incredible! They provided so much value from start to finish. You will not regret booking your wedding here. I wish I could do it all over again because every part of it was magical.
We rented out the boathouse villa for our wedding and it was immaculate and clean with beautifully tended grounds. All of Bay Pointe Inn had a resort feel that couldn't be matched. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and guests raved about it as well as the location. We had a wonderful, magical wedding and would defintely recommend Bay Pointe. My husband and I look forward to coming back for anniversaries.
Our wedding at Bay Pointe Inn was nothing short of incredible! Leading up to the wedding it didn't matter what types of questions we e-mailed to Stephanie she answered it, sometimes in a matter of minutes! There was never a question that she could not answer or a problem that she could not fix. Stephanie was who we dealt with the majority of the time, but ALL of the Bay Pointe staff was absolutely helpful. The food and venue were beautiful. Every person that was working was friendly and always happy to lend a hand. On the morning of our wedding there was a huge storm that knocked the power out starting at 3:30 a.m. not only to Bay Pointe Inn, but thousands of other places around the lake. This might have stressed out other people, but in working with the people from Bay Pointe Inn for over a year I knew that they were going to do everything in their power to have everything run smoothly. I was not disappointed at all. Other than the trees and power lines being down on their trips in, our guests had NO clue that we had been without power for the morning. Everything ran on time and smoothly. It has been just over a week since we got married and we are still receiving multiple compliments every day on the venue; we would recommend Bay Pointe Inn to anyone!! ~Val & Jeff Leavoy P.S. Our guests LOVED that we had a pontoon boat rented for the day! We would recommend that added touch to anyone!
There's something amazing about seeing your dream wedding come to life. The Bay Pointe was FLAWLESS. We had our event at the Boathouse Villa and it couldn't have been more perfect. Our guests loved the property as much as we did. There was a terrible storm the night before and the hotel and surrounding area were without power. I honestly never even knew. The BPI did not skip a beat. They had generators out quickly and they went into action with the mentality of "the show must go on"! There was staff outside picking up sticks and debris from the storm and even cleaning out the fountain to make everything look nice. The attention to detail there is second to none. Everything inside and outside was spotless. The Bay Pointe ran like a well-oiled machine. The ceremony, reception and clean-up was so smooth. I can't think of one complaint. Even potential hiccups were handled quickly and with exceptional service. I worked mainly with Stephanie throughout my planning process, who was amazing. She responded quickly and thoroughly to every email and was so helpful. Ashley was great, too. I was initially disappointed that Stephanie wasn't our coordinator on wedding day because we had worked together so much, but Kalynn was awesome and because of their excellent communication, it was a seamless transition. The front desk and housekeeping staff went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating! Our guests were even talking about how much fun they had with the bartenders! I can't thank The Bay Pointe enough for giving us the best weekend of our lives! We will be back for many years to come!
Bay Pointe was amazing! Everything from the planning to the day of was absolutely perfect. Our coordinators that helped with the planning were great and answered every question and our day of coordinator was exceptional! The Inn itself is beautiful and everyone that stayed there was impressed. All of the guests loved the venue! Thanks for helping make our day so special!
We couldn't be happier with how our wedding turned out at Bay Pointe Inn! The staff and event coordinators were extremely attentive and easy to work with, the food was great and our suite was clean and spacious! We can not wait to return to Bay Pointe Inn for future events!
My husband and I couldn't be happier with how our wedding day turned out at Bay Pointe Inn! A big thank you to all of the staff for being so accommodating, kind, and helpful. Stephanie and Ashley were our main contact people, and they always responded to my emails within a day. The day of our wedding everyone made sure our day went flawlessly (even with the rain!) We will be returning for our anniversaries! 6.22.17
We rented BayPointe's Boathouse Villa for our wedding and the entire experience was AMAZING! The boathouse is beautiful and well maintained and the view of the lake is breathtaking! The staff is super friendly and helpful and they go above and beyond to make sure that your big day is perfect. We would highly recommend BayPointe to any future Bride and Groom. Believe me....you wont want to leave! :)
We could not be more pleased that we chose to have our wedding at Bay Pointe Inn!!! Every single part of our wedding weekend was perfect. From all of the people that helped us along the way and answered our many questions (Mariesa and Hillary!) to all of the wonderful people that helped the weekend of (Nancy and Jamie!). I am so thankful for every single person who helped to make our wedding day the beyond amazing day that it was. Three of the four wedding events had to be moved due to rain, but every single one ended up perfectly. Jamie and Nancy were so flexible and accommodated all of our back-up choices for locations (and I know we didn't always pick the easiest one: having the rehearsal dinner in the Boathouse - but it was perfect thanks to all of the staff's hard work and quick set-up!). We got so many compliments on how beautiful Bay Pointe was. I absolutely loved having everything on the water. We chose stations for dinner in the pavilion, and they were delicious!! We also got so many compliments on the amazing food. Every single part of our wedding was perfect, and I know that was thanks to the hard working staff at Bay Pointe, and Jamie and Nancy's help day-of, as well as all of the preparation ahead of time by Hillary! I can't recommend having your wedding here enough!! Thank you for everything, Bay Pointe!!
Bay Pointe was hands down the absolute best! The staff managed everything perfectly. Even when the weather turned on us, they stepped up and moved everything we had inside. The setting is unbelievable - the lake, boathouse and the grounds of the facility. If you want an unforgettable wedding venue this is the place!!!
Everything about this venue was perfect, the absolute only reason I took off one star was because of the wedding planner they sprung on us the day of the rehearsal, Friday night. Her name was Melina. I will go into detail below but I'd like to start with the positives... Bay Pointe was beautiful and the staff was so accommodating. We had our ceremony under the pavilion and I could not have asked for a better experience. Food was wonderful and the scene is just unbeatable. The rooms were so great, they were clean and comfortable. I would happily go back to Bay Pointe and recommend it to any bride! Our wedding day truly was perfect, and we thank you for that Bay Pointe! Now, to unfortunately vent about Melina. I won't touch on every small detail that was disappointing, I won't have room. To start, she made myself and the whole bridal party extremely uncomfortable when she approached us in our hotel room during the guests' cocktail hour and demanded why we were not attending it ourselves. We had the ceremony at Bay Pointe as well (absolutely beautiful) so we took the cocktail hour that we set aside for guests to regroup and relish on the amazing thing that just happened! She ruined it. She was awful and so rude, she came up to the room, asking for me (the bride) personally, claiming she had "done over 200 weddings and had never witnessed a bridal party do this." Telling us there were liability concerns related to us being in the hotel room with alcohol... which was clearly written into the contract as absolutely allowed as long as it was not taken outside of the room, and it was not. I felt angry and embarrassed. It really is an event that sticks out to me about that whole day, and she was personally responsible for those negative feelings. I'm so disappointed in her behavior. We had a wedding around 140 people under the pavilion and there was 1 bartender. She told my father it was because of the other wedding going on at the boathouse, to which he replied is not an acceptable excuse and seems to be something she should have planned for. Another thing she did was pass out a very special gift that I had set aside to personally deliver to each groomsmen, I was crushed. I know the bridesmaids had a facilitating role in that but she should have checked with me. She personally refused the groom a drink just as the bar was closing for dinner. Her overall attitude toward us was annoyance, and we could absolutely feel it. I want to reiterate how much we loved our wedding day. We were so overwhelmed with happiness that we were able to put the issues with Melina out of the way and truly enjoy this beautiful venue.
We held our wedding at Bay Pointe Inn on October 6 2016. All day, the weather looked sketchy. The staff were so diligent in checking the radar to see if we could pull off the outdoor ceremony, or use our reception site in the pavilion. We delayed the start of the ceremony in hopes a clump of rain clouds would move out of the area. Unfortunately, just as we got started, the skies let loose and it poured! We paused the ceremony, the staff helped all our guests into the pavilion, helped us get everything reset, let our guests get settled, and then we picked up where we left off. The staff provided our guests with umbrellas prior to the ceremony, which we were very thankful for. The staff even set up extra tents so that our guests could be covered while walking from the pavilion to the buffet tent. They placed carpet on the ground so our guests wouldn't slip and fall. And they worked to soak up the rain water so our guests had a dry place to be. The entire wedding planning process was made so easy by Mariesa and Hillary - they answered every question I had, and rolled with all my ideas. I felt completely taken care of the entire time, and the weather - which would have otherwise caused me great stress - turned into a positive, memorable event for our guests. Our family and friends booked rooms the day before and of our wedding. This allowed us to have time together as a family, relax, swim, have breakfast the next morning, and experience a calm wedding day. My mom and mother-in-law prepared lunch in our suite, brought food to the guys' room, and it was absolutely perfect. I look on this day as something completely magical. I would recommend Bay Pointe Inn to anyone getting married, especially those interested in a "destination wedding" without wanting to travel far. Everything exceeded my expectations. I seriously could not be happier!
