A magical, perfect place for a wedding or vow renewal. We had such a wonderful experience working with Fran and Shannon. They went above and beyond to make this one of the most wonderful days of our lives!! The gardens are breathtaking and Lulubelles Roost is beautiful withy rench doors opening to the panaramic view of the hills around Lanesboro. Highly recommend this venue to anyone!!
My daughter was married at the Berwood last September. I have to say that it was an absolutely magical place to be married. We had many people say that it was the best wedding they had ever been to and it was pretty much DIY. Not only are the gardens and gazebos beautiful, but Lulu's Roost is lovely as well. You really don't need much for decorations or flowers. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating. The things to be aware of are that there is no kitchen which makes self catering difficult. There is no handicap accessible restroom. There seemed to be a lot of confusion between the wedding coordinator and us over the cost and what we could and could not do, so make sure you get everything in writing and go over all details carefully. She was very sweet but may have been a bit disorganized. Overall it was worth any hassle to have our wedding there because it really is so beautiful and unique.

While trying to stay on a budget and being discouraged by the high price of so many Twin Cities venues, I was so happy when I found Berwood Hill Inn, near Lanesboro and Preston in SE Minnesota. This place is picture perfect, inside and out. The photos on their website don't do it justice at all. It is mainly set up for outdoor ceremonies, but the reception space can be used in case of rain. They provide and set up the chairs and you can choose any location on the grounds that you want for your ceremony. They also set up chairs and tables for the reception, and will provide table linens if you want them. Since we were on a budget and had only about 40 people coming, it was really nice for us that they allow self-catering, which we took full advantage of. They have a stereo system set up for a iPod, which was very easy to use. And they let us set up croquet on the lawn. We were also allowed four hours the day before to come in and set up all our decorations, which really saved a lot of time and hassle the next day. There are just a few downsides. One, no one is allowed in the house except the bridal party or guests who are staying overnight there. That means guests have to use the porta-potties outside if they need a toilet. They do clean them before every event, but they are not handicap accessible. The other thing I didn't like is that you have to check out the next morning by 10am and they require you to be up at 8am on the dot if you want breakfast (which is really good!), which means staying up super late might not be an option. I wish they had a noon check out and would let you pick a time that suits you to be served breakfast. Additionally, the Owl's Nest, the top floor room reserved for the bridal couple, is really nice, but there is no shower, only a handheld shower attachment in the tub that sprays everywhere. We took turns holding it for each other, but it was still really awkward! However, the staff is super nice and helpful and tried to accommodate us at every turn. When rain forced everyone inside, they offered to give our guests a tour of the house (despite their no guests inside rule), which everyone loved. I would definitely recommend Berwood Hill Inn for intimate weddings, especially any that are rustic, country, or vintage themed.

A beautiful garden wedding venue. Say your vows in a beautiful garden or overlooking some of SE Minnesota's most spectacular bluffs. The reception hall is on site. The only thing that is an issue is no air conditioning or fans on those very hot summer days. The wedding was beautiful, the staff went above and beyond in helping make the day perfect. The weather was very hot and humid that day and the reception area did not provide relief from the heat. The house, a 19th century bed and breakfast was rented for the wedding party to stay. A great place to have all your needs met in one place.

That it was at the same location as the ceremony, all guests had to do was cross the lawn.;Poor facilities, not even a sink in the building.
