Candi and Amy here. We've always loved being our couples' trusted sounding board for their questions, and all of our wedding planning packages and online tools are created with this concept in mind. When you have the organizational tools and wedding industry knowledge you need, wedding planning becomes a much easier process.
We specialize in day-of coordination, meaning you'll have the flexibility to hire the vendors you want, and we'll be there to answer any and all of your questions along the way. As your wedding day approaches, we step in and take the reigns on managing logistics, timeline, and set-up details with your vendor team, and on the day of the wedding, we'll keep everyone on track and informed, so your day runs smoothly

We had a wonderful experience and an unforgettable wedding, and it was largely thanks to the dedication and responsiveness shown by Candi Block. It was an amazingly professional experience for a fantastic value, and I can't imagine having pulled it off without her help.

We had the pleasure of working with Amy as our wedding day-of coordinator, and after our wedding, our family commented over and over at what a great team of vendors my husband and I had assembled. I credit the cohesiveness and final product to Amy. While my husband and I had hand-picked all our individual vendors, Amy tied it all together and put the prettiest bow on top. She’s the absolute sweetest (can’t tell you how many of our other vendors and family members commented on this, too!), and I don’t think our day would have gone nearly as smoothly had we not had Amy by our sides. I was a little nervous that we were cutting it close on the timeline to finish all the planning when we brought Amy on board, but she quickly put me at ease that everything would get done, and that we were right on track. Always with a smile on her face, Amy helped with everything from the timeline for our entire wedding day to ideas of how I could incorporate my step-dad into the “giving away” portion of our ceremony, to teaching our small flower girls and ring bearer how make it down the aisle. Scheduling meetings with Amy was super easy, and our meetings were productive and fun, as it seems like we were always laughing about something.
We also were lucky enough to have Candi there working with Amy on our wedding day, and together they were incredible. They worked seamlessly with our other vendors, Amy having already contacted all of them prior to our day, confirming details and the timeline. (I can’t even imagine how much work she did behind the scenes that I never saw to make everything come together!) Amy and Candi made it so that my husband and I could truly enjoy our day, relax, have fun, and not worry about a thing. From the time we got to the venue for bridal party photos in the morning until the limo driver closed the door after the reception, Amy was there. She made sure that I got the food that I wanted during dinner, helped me take my shoes on and off when my husband and I played the “shoe game” at our reception, made me a bouquet out of our glow-sticks for our send-off, and made sure we had cake in the limo to have when we got to our hotel. Amy was absolutely fantastic, super sweet, and I’d work with her over and over again. She helped give us the absolute most perfect wedding day, and we cannot thank her enough!
We cannot recommend Amy of Block Wedding and Events enough! She was an amazing coordinator who helped make planning more fun and organized (her timeline questionnaire is awesome and incredibly helpful). Amy gave us confidence and found solutions to any problem that sprung up during planning. She coordinated flawlessly with all our vendors, including our dog walker so we could have pictures with our dog on our special day! Amy took charge of all the details so we could focus on the day and enjoy ourselves. We are so thankful that we found her and we are very grateful! Our day was flawless.
Candi is THE BEST. We got so many complements from our wedding party, parents, and other vendors on how fantastic she was to work with and I couldn’t agree more. She paid such careful attention to help our day run smoothly - I’m sure for each small thing we noticed and appreciated there were perhaps 40 smaller things that she helped handle.
Every meeting she took thoughtful notes and even things we mentioned vaguely from 5 months earlier she noted and brought to life on our wedding day. As I was telling everyone who asked about how wedding planning was going I replied, “Great! We have the best wedding planner who has the calming voice of a therapist and we couldn’t do it without her!”
Can't say enough about Amy from Block Weddings & Events. Will do my best by breaking it down into a few parts...
Initial Meeting: We had met with a few day-of coordinators already and had been wowed by one (very expensive) person and honestly nonplussed by others. Amy (& Block Events) was the perfect combination of in our budget, offering the services we wanted (day-of coordination + final weeks takeover of vendors) and her bubbly, friendly personality (matched with an obvious attention to detail and flair for creativity) were the ideal combination.
Preparation: Her help troubleshooting and brainstorming the whole year(!) leading up to our wedding this September was fantastically helpful. She asked thoughtful questions, did two site visits with us as a part of our three included meetings, and was always game to answer emailed questions. She was prompt in communication (and also let us know before she would head out on long vacas just in case something came up while she was away!). Our rehearsal went off without a hitch and all our family members from there on were like "where did you find this woman?!" (Sometimes the internet is a glorious place!)
The day of: I really can't begin to marvel at how much she made happen the day of. Her assistant the day of our wedding, Bailey, was also stupendously kind, attentive and on her game. They did wonders with our flowers (when a garland didn't show up Amy simply MADE ONE with our extra flowers). From our perspective our whole day went off without a hitch which is all I ever could have dreamed of.
In summary: James and I are beyond grateful for her kindness, professionalism and depth of knowledge that helped us throughout this process. As someone who has planned events professionally for years, Amy blew me away! Seriously, hire this team. An extra bonus was also all the great extra advice from the Block Weddings & Events blog and podcasts!
Long story short-Amy is an AMAZING wedding planner. Having an intimate wedding (30 guests), we were initially on the fence about whether we needed to hire a day-of-coordinator. Word of advice: YOU DO. After our initial consultation, I knew Amy would make a huge difference in the feel and flow of our wedding day and she did not disappoint!
From start to finish Amy was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. Amy thinks of all the things most people wouldn't unless they had industry experience and she comes up with a plan (and a back-up plan) for almost every possible scenario. Most importantly, Amy was super fun to work with and meeting with her to go over updated plans was like meeting up with a friend for coffee!
We wanted to have a more laid-back wedding while still incorporating a few traditional elements, and Amy came up with so many creative suggestions to help make our wedding feel more like "us." She also has an incredible eye for detail and style--I fully trusted her to execute my vision for both the rented items and the DIY items we brought from home.
It was clear that Amy worked diligently to create a seamless timeline so that we could enjoy our day and focus on spending time with our family and friends. Everything about our wedding was absolutely perfect and it was mostly thanks to Amy and her assistant Bailey! We honestly couldn't imagine what the day would have been like without them. If you are looking to invest in either a full-service wedding planner or a day-of-coordinator, definitely hire Block Weddings and Events!
Amy was the most amazing wedding planner I've ever worked with. She was organized fun prompt easy to work with. She handled all of my vendors and organize the day perfectly. We had the pleasure of having Amy coordinate our wedding for all day-of-coordination and related-planning. She was incredible and we couldn't have pulled off such a stress-free wedding without her help. Amy is very professional, organized, approachable, and she was available whenever we had any questions. She made me feel confident that everything I envisioned for my wedding day would fall right into place--and indeed it did. Amy has so many ideas and insights about how to plan a wedding and I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Candi is an amazing wedding planner and event organizer! She has a robust online tool set if you lean towards DYI. If you opt for full planning, she provides wonderful navigation through the maze of choices, personalized recommendations that fit your budget and style, and timely responses. Once you hit the main event, she is a wonderful people manager, decorator, and troubleshooter. We can’t recommend her enough!
Candi from Block Weddings and Events was fantastic to work with! We found her during the Snohomish Wedding Tour while we were browsing for a venue in 2017. Even though we were only using the day of coordination services, Candi was always available to answer questions, offer advice and guide us in the right direction while we were planning. She even was so nice to offer and hold all our decor and miscellaneous items in her garage before the big day so us or our families didn't have to worry about transporting everything. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day and we couldn't be more thankful to Candi and her team in helping us execute what we envisioned!
Candi and her team at Block Events was an absolute pleasure to work with for our recent outdoor wedding. They over-delivered on our expectations, and made our wedding day more enjoyable and stress-free than we ever though possible! We knew we wanted a day-of coordinator to take over all logistics on our wedding day, but we got so much more in the process. Candi was available from our initial meeting right through our wedding – something we didn’t expect in a day-of coordinator. She answered any ongoing questions or concerns we had in the months leading up to our wedding day, made excellent vendor recommendations, and was incredibly patient with our last minute logistical changes as we worked with the fall weather in the Pacific Northwest. With multiple meetings and conversations before our wedding, she put us at ease with her professional yet personal approach. On our wedding day, Candi and Amy were a super force! They transformed our outdoor venue into a beautifully composed destination that exceeded our expectations in every way. They have an eye for detail, and ensured that our every need was met – including those things we never thought about! We are sure that there were many things that Candi and Amy did behind the scenes that we never even realized. From pre-ceremony assistance, to personal attention, vendor and guest assistance throughout the evening, the whole team at Block Events worked incredibly hard to make our wedding unbelievably memorable.
Candi was the best and I would recommend her in heart beat. She was highly organized, enthusiastic, and fun to work with. We enjoyed every minute of our day because we didn't have to worry about anything because we knew Candi was on point. She is SO worth every penny.
Working with Candi to plan our wedding was so incredibly helpful. She was able to keep us organized with all our vendors and always had great ideas/suggestions when we were unsure about what we wanted.
Candi and her team at Block Weddings & Events (formerly Thrifty Events) far exceeded my expectations. Candi was so personal and genuine, but at the same time extremely professional and confident. She listened to me and my fiance, and offered suggestions based on her previous experience with clients. All pre-wedding communication was easy and prompt. She even recommended a few of our last vendors when I was stuck on who to choose, and each of her recommendations were amazing! One of my favorite things was during our venue walk through a week prior to the wedding, the first thing she asked me was "what are you concerned about?" I loved that. I was able to talk about the things keeping me up at night, and we immediately came up with a plan for what to do. After those 5 minutes, I was able to enjoy the walk through and be in the moment instead of waiting to bring up one of my little worries.
On the day of our wedding, she and her assistant worked so fast and efficiently! To my knowledge, everything went completely perfectly without any troubles! Who knows if that's actually true, but it's a testament to Block Wedding's professionalism and poise with our other vendors, guests, and our families! I couldn't have been happier to work with Candi, and would 100% recommend her business to any couple getting married.
Candi did an amazing job from the very beginning. When we had questions or needed vendor recommendations she always had the answer. Once we had all our vendors lined up she took over managing all the final details for day of. On our wedding day she handled everything, even moving all our dinner tables from inside to outside when it looked like it might rain. She made sure the entire day ran smoothly and on time. For anyone looking for an excellent wedding planner or coordinator I would definitely recommend Candi and her team!
Hiring Candi was by far the best decision we made. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, she was a calming presence and voice of reason. She was always available to communicate with us through email, phone, and even in person a few times. She had amazing ideas, execution, and professionalism. She is very warm and friendly. We never felt the effects of wedding stress, because Candi made everything so easy for us.
After we committed to a venue and paid our deposit, we discovered there was a lien on the property and no longer felt comfortable doing business with the property owner. Candi helped us to find a new venue quickly, and even went with us all over the greater Puget Sound area to tour new venues. What could have been a wedding disaster, Candi stepped in and made the process super easy and took the stress out of finding a new venue.
Candi read every contract, contacted every vendor to confirm arrival times, and her day-of coordination was off the hook. Prior to hiring Candi, we wanted to make sure that we each got to enjoy our day without stress or interruption, and that is exactly what she delivered. As a bonus, her wonderful husband, Eli, was on site with us helping and providing a second set of hands with set-up, clean-up, decorations, and anything else that needed to be done. Both Candi and Eli are an absolute joy to work with and we recommend them to any person getting married ever!!!
Candi was the day-of coordinator for our wedding in July of 2017. She came recommended by my hairdresser, who works in the wedding industry. When we read all that Candi and Eli do (so much!) and realized that we had a few tricky logistics to work out (including a ferry situation), we knew we should consider hiring her. About three minutes into meeting her, we knew we had to hire her. Candi has a can-do attitude and a low stress approach. She thinks realistically and makes all the details come together. When it was extra-windy, she used driftwood to hold down the tent flaps and put a little beach rock on each menu. Both fit our vibe and were totally functional. It baffles me all of the things that got taken care of without my wife or me knowing how they came together. That's so very valuable at a time when you want to focus on the joy of the day and being with your people. It'd be hard to pick the best money spent on one's wedding, but this was right on up there. Thanks so much, Candi.
Candi and her partner were so easy to work with, and we really enjoyed planning our July 2016 wedding with them. Though I had a pretty good idea of what we were looking to do, the site visits, meetings and walk through sessions were super helpful to ensure that day of things went as planned. When we were planning, it was hard to determine if we needed a coordinator, and looking back, I think it was definitely worth the fee and the peace of mind. Your wedding day is super stressful as is, and knowing someone is keeping things moving and asking questions is such a sense of relief. We interviewed 7 potential planners, but Candi stood out for her willingness to pitch in, set up/take down decorations, and her extremely positive, friendly and enthusiastic outlook. Her suggestion that we do our own flowers to the extent we were comfortable (turns out after watching some youtube, it was pretty do-able) and her trip with us to the flower wholesaler was AWESOME. The dollars we saved and the impact all the flowers had made it very worthwhile. We were very impressed with her services and highly recommend!
I hired Candi at Thrifty Events for day of coordination for my wedding. My experience with Thrifty Events from the first phone call through the day of our wedding was absolutely wonderful. Candi was both pleasant and professional throughout every exchange whether it was with me and my groom, other vendors, and/or wedding party and family members. All of my vendors and many of my guests commented on how great a job Candi did on planning and executing the wedding.
Throughout the planning process Candi was quick to respond and to take action and her communication(s) were always clear, timely, and thorough. She was very generous with her time and knowledge and did a wonderful job of addressing issues and helping come up with solutions. She is also well connected in the wedding industry/community and I found her recommendations to be quite helpful and the services I received were of good quality.
Candi was extremely proactive throughout the planning process, in the months, weeks, and days leading up to the wedding. She provided great direction and put together a manageable timeline to include the important events throughout ceremony and reception. We met on multiple occasions to ensure that we were in constant alignment in terms of expectations. She helped map out the layout of the venue and also took the lead in helping facilitate our wedding rehearsal (because our officiant was absent).
One of the main attractions of working with Thrifty Events was that I had one main person who was in charge and knew what my expectations were and could communicate that to the other vendors and use that to thread the whole wedding together. The wedding was incredibly lovely and exceeded my expectations. To the best of my knowledge, not a single thing went wrong! Of course, I’m sure that multiple things went haywire at the last minute, but that was the real beauty behind hiring Thrifty Events – those unexpected “fires” were handled and put out by Candi behind the scenes so that you can be present and really be in the moment on your wedding day.
Thrifty Events was a pleasure to work with and comes highly recommended.
