Melissa is INCREDIBLE! We hired Melissa for month of coordination for our May wedding in Palm Springs at Desert Island and it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Melissa is kind, thoughtful, proactive, and is clearly very experienced at what she does. She created an impeccable schedule for our wedding and didn’t miss a single detail. On top of this she coordinated all the logistics with each of our other vendors the month before our wedding. As an aside, Melissa shared an amazing vendor recommendation list with us where we found the majority of our other vendors who were also just FAB.
On the day of our wedding, Melissa was an absolute superstar. She kept all the trains running, adjusted things when needed, and seamlessly executed the day we had been planning and dreaming about for so long. She took the stress out of the day for us because we knew she absolutely had everything under control. I am so grateful for everything Melissa did to make our dream wedding come to life. I full heartedly 100/10 recommend hiring Melissa if you’re looking for an amazing coordinator!
It's hard to express how little we had to use our brains on the day of our wedding. Melissa and Blue Moon took care of absolutely everything and all we had to do was have an unforgettable day. Things went so smoothly, I still can't believe it.
Melissa, from the get, was super easy to work with. She is nice, communicative, and of course professional. As a queer couple, we felt very well taken care of and celebrated by Melissa. She helped build and coordinate a wedding far superior to anything we had ever dreamed and we are so thankful for all her work <3
My partner and I got married this past May, and we hired Blue Moon Event Planning to help coordinate our wedding. Melissa was absolutely amazing. She was supportive and there for us every step of the way. Day-of, Melissa was absolutely delightful and made Dan and I feel extremely calm. I’m a Type-A person with extremely high expectations, and I felt completely at ease with leaving everything to Melissa. It was perfect. Truly, if you’re wondering about who you should have coordinate your wedding, look no further: Melissa is your person!
Melissa did such an amazing job as our wedding planner. She truly went above and beyond to make sure that our day went off flawlessly. She provided us with so much honest and helpful advice and was always so responsive via email and text. She was organized, thoughtful, attentive to detail and made sure that we were taken care of the entire day. She poured us wine at dinner, left us food in our hotel room for when we got back at the end of the night and even left out rose petals on our bed. You truly can't go wrong with Blue Moon Event Planning - we would highly recommend Melissa as a wedding coordinator!
I don't even know if I have all the words to express how much I loved working with Melissa and Dee. Everyone knows the couple months leading up to your wedding are the most stressful and having Melissa there made it so much easier. She was hired as a day of coordinator, but she does WAY more than that sounds. (I feel like she should charge way more too) She was happy to read my crazy rambling emails when I just needed someone to reassure me that I was on the right track and had everything I needed. Her texts checking in on me definitely helped calm my nerves. On the day, Melissa and Dee went above and beyond! Everything went smoothly and my husband and I were completely oblivious to any mishaps that might have happened. She even went to our hotel room which was on site and tidied it up, placed leftover food in our mini fridge, lit a candle, and spread rose petals on the bed! The sweetest! I love her, she's the best, and you will definitely be in good hands with Melissa and her team.
We hired Melissa for wedding coordination, and she and her assistant Dee were amazing! Everything Melissa was involved with felt totally seamless. Leading up to the wedding, she provided us with tools to help us get organized, which helped us plan for details we hadn’t even thought about. The day of the wedding, I felt like I never had to have a thought about a single detail, which was the most incredible feeling. My parents, who created a lot of the elements of our wedding, including the flowers and favors, are also still raving about her! Melissa also worked with my family to surprise us on the wedding day and she even put a band-aid on my foot for me when I got a blister from dancing - she really went above and beyond! You will not regret hiring her!!
I would recommend Blue Moon twenty times over. We encountered a few major hiccups on our marriage journey; first there was the COVID delay and our original venue closing it's doors. Melissa was so thorough, and responsive and focused on finding solutions. There were times when I found myself feeling blue and wondering if it was ever going to work out (first world problems, I know), but every call/email/text from her would come with her beautiful energy and would revive my excitement for our big day. She also connected us with the most amazing and accommodating vendors we could have ever asked for. And she did all this basically on her own since we live on the other side of the country. The day of was beautiful, and she made sure I never felt a single bit of stress and got to fully enjoy all my guests, the food and the music.
So before I get into anything specific- Melissa (and Alex on the day-of) were absolutely fantastic. We had a meeting with another wedding coordinator a few weeks before we found Blue Moon and they showed up an hour late to our meeting saying they’d put us in on the wrong day. I’ve never been happier we looked for another coordinator. We didn’t have much budgeted for this in particular so we opted for just a day-of coordinator and Melissa worked with our price point very easily. The thing is… leading up to the wedding, Melissa went above and beyond just day-of duties. She kept us on track, made us a timeline, got ahold of our vendors… I mean, she really helped us plan the whole damn thing. Which was amazing since neither of us exactly knew what we were doing and seriously underestimated how complicated wedding planning is.
On the day, my partner and I were the most stressed we’d ever been but Melissa and Alex did everything they could to take any unnecessary burdens off of us. I thought I was supposed to help set up! But they kept me in my bridal suite and even gave me some alcohol to calm my nerves. Honestly, I thought I was going to be stressed the entire day about how things were going, but as soon as I realized what an amazing job they all did, I didn’t have a care all night. She made sure my partner and I got canapes and champagne after the ceremony, she made sure we got the dinner we wanted, and that everything was spotless for load-out. I cannot say enough good things about Blue Moon. They take their jobs very seriously, but they’re also the nicest people. HIRE THEM.
A wedding coordinator was the one vendor that I thought I didn't need. However, my month-of coordinator, Melissa, turned out to be the most important vendor I hired. Melissa took all the hard word I'd done - researching and choosing all my vendors, designing all my wedding decor (table settings, making my own signs, designing floral arrangements, etc.) and even making my own wedding cake and dessert table - and tied everything together seamlessly. Being a Type A person, it was so hard for me to accept the fact that, on my wedding day, it was impossible for me to physically put everything together exactly as I had envisioned...but Melissa made that happen.
Pre-wedding: created a timeline and took over communicating with all my vendors until the actual wedding day; acted as the "bad guy" and said, "no," when my bartender wanted to bring in his own photographer to take photos for social media; orchestrated moving all my belongings and hair and makeup into a new room when mid getting ready, the air conditioner stopped working in my hotel room; she helped zip me into my tight ass wedding dress 😂; most importantly, she kept us on track and made sure we stuck to the timeline.
Wedding: Once I arrived at the venue, words can't even describe how happy I was with how everything looked. Melissa and her assistant, Dee, made sure everything was set up just as I had wanted. Every single detail was in order. They set up all the DIY decor exactly as I had planned; helped troubleshoot the caterer telling us last minute that they needed another table for appetizers; made sure my makeup and dress were on point during photos; when the ceremony started, as I started to come down the aisle, I was so nervous that I forgot my bouquet. I hadn't even noticed I forgot it until Dee ran over and handed it to me so fast, no one even noticed; at the end of the night, Melissa helped me decide what to tip each vendor; packed to go plates for my husband and I; wrapped up the top layer of my cake and sent it home with my mom; stayed until the very last minute to make sure all the things I wanted to take home were packaged up and sent with my family, and the entire venue was clean, ensuring I got my full deposit back. After all of that, somehow, Melissa was able to make it back to my hotel room to set up my wedding floral arrangements and sprinkle rose petals on the bed!
My wedding day was literally, the best day of my life and I can honestly say, a huge part of that is because of Melissa and her team. Melissa, thank you so much for everything...from the first meeting to the final hug at the end of the night. You are the absolute best and Andre and I can't thank you enough for all of your hard work!!! 😘
Melissa and Alex were a joy to work with. Easygoing, yet very responsive when needed, it always felt relaxed to communicate any concerns we had to Melissa whether it be about our venue/vendors or timeline. My wife and I opted for the day-of-coordination so when it came to transition/onboard the information, naturally there's always a bit of nervousness on how much of what we've planned together would execute as we imagined. Once we provided all of our vendor information, Melissa was able to take over by getting everyone on the same timeline arranging the best times and places for people to show up. Melissa, being patient and a great listener guided us through step-by-step on how everything would play out in detail and it eased our concerns we had. My wife and I were able to enjoy our most special day with no worries. We can highly recommend Bluemoon Event Planning being the center of your vendor team as they did not fail to deliver!
Melissa and Alex of Blue Moon Event Planning were fabulous! Timely in their communication, receptive and accommodating of our requests, and easy to work with (not to mention just generally great people :) ). Their level of organization and calm aura created a stress-free atmosphere for our wedding day and kept things running smoothly. Would definitely use them again, and highly recommend hiring for any special event!
Melissa and her BLUE MOON staff were absolutely incredible. They were so on top of every detail that I didn't have to stress on my wedding day. They even packed up all the decor at the end of the night so perfectly as if it was
never all unwrapped. I'm so grateful for them! It was truly a magical day/night. They felt like family not like a hired event planning company. We highly recommend using them for your next event!
Hands down the best investment made for our wedding! I literally could not imagine doing this without melissa and her amazing team! They were so organized and helpful and made sure my big day ran perfectly. Blue Moon Event Planning was exactly what we needed for our wedding in March 2019. As an event planner myself, I have very hire standards, especially for the person I'd be handing over the reins to for a very important day. Melissa and her time were extremely organized and professional from the get-go, asked the right questions and executed beautifully on the day of. Hire this company! I was sure I wouldn’t need a coordinator in addition to the onsite help provided but when I spoke with Melissa just about three weeks before the big day I knew I needed her help. She is super responsive, helpful, flexible, and knowledgeable. Wedding day went so smoothly and I had no worries that everyone would be placed and set the way I had visioned. This company provided a perfect blend of professionalism, positivity, class, and fun. My day was perfect and a lot of that is attributed to Blue Moon Event Planning!
Planning your own wedding is no joke… From music and cakes, to boutonnieres and napkin folds, attention to detail is of the utmost importance- especially when it’s your own wedding! My husband and I spent almost two years planning our big day down to the tiniest element—scouting venues, researching, vetting and hiring vendors, choosing color-schemes, even building centerpieces!
What we didn’t plan was who was going to pull all of this together when we were…ya know…getting married? We knew early on that, while we had a specific vision, we would need help to tie it all together. Luckily, one of our best friends is not only the top wedding and event planner that we know, but she was also one of our groomsmaids! Melissa (more formally known as Blue Moon Event Planning) worked with us from “Will you?” to “I do.”—helping to coordinate the perfect proposal, providing insights on venues and vendors, even helping us hand-tie ceremony programs. And of course, overseeing the logistics of the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, “day of” vendor-coordination and ceremony! Melissa was brilliant! She kept everything and everyone on time and in line…and with our wedding party, that was no easy feat!
We couldn’t have done it without Melissa. Her attention to every detail, positive attitude and genuine care for how we were doing, made our special day possible. She took every specific detail that we had dreamed up and turned them into a reality- one that we will never forget! I had a wonderful experience with Blue Moon/Melissa. It was my first wedding and she walked me through it every step of the way. The days leading up to the wedding and the day of the wedding went smoothly and stress free. If I ever have another need for an event planner I will call Melissa and her team.
We booked Blue Moon Event Planning (and Melissa) about a year before our wedding and it was one of the best things we could have done. Melissa was able to fit a niche that I did not know was required. My ceremony and reception locations came with a coordinator and from my perspective, I had people on either end that were available to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Thankfully, Melissa informed me that I would still need someone on hand the day of the wedding to help facilitate. For me, the wedding was such an extravagant day that the little things truly mattered and Melissa left no detail unturned. Here are a few of my personal highlights that show where Melissa shines:
Prior to meeting with coordinators, Melissa prepped us for the types of questions that we should ask (eventually being in direct contact with our vendors).
Prior to the wedding, Melissa asked what some of our favorite snacks and drinks were. When she showed up to greet us at the hotel the night before the wedding, she had bags full of our favorite snacks and drinks for our hotel room.
Melissa suggested that we gave her a spare key to our hotel room in case something was forgotten in our room (which of course, was perfect forethought because inevitably, we did forget things). Not only was Melissa able to return to our room to retrieve the items needed for the ceremony, somehow between the wedding and the reception, she was able to decorate our room with spare flowers left over from the ceremony and the reception.
My partner and I had our first dance choreographed and we wanted an opportunity to practice our dance in the reception space before the reception. Melissa was not aware that we were going to be practicing our dance and when she arrived to the reception hall, I going back to my room to find retrieve my laptop so I could play the song when Melissa reached into her bag and pulled out a blue tooth speaker that was ready to pair with my phone. This moment still brings a smile to my face because when I tell you that she is on top of her business and accounts for any situation. She is completely prepared for whatever may come.
On a day that was so frantic, the best thing that I could have asked for was time and organization and Melissa delivered that in spades. I was able to provide all of my vendors with Melissa's contact information so that the day of the wedding, I wasn't bombarded with a million questions. This was not a need that I had anticipated and I am beyond grateful that I had Melissa there so that I could enjoy the day worry-free. Whether you need someone to be the fail-safe and pick up any missing pieces you may not be aware that you're missing or you need someone to plan your event top to bottom, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Blue Moon Event planning. Someone who truly gets it and understands that the little things matter just as much as the big things :)
What advice would I give about Blue Moon event planning? BOOK THEM. I came to Melissa just weeks before my event without anything planned and she helped pull everything together in under three weeks. I tried to plan this event for months but couldn't get anywhere. I had trouble finding a venue in my price range that didn't break the bank but allowed me to have all the "extras" I wanted. Within a few days Melissa found a venue that was perfect. Then everything else began to fall into place. I've worked in customer service for many years even owning my own business making customer service number one on my decision for working with a company and or individual. Melissa made sure customer service was her companies number one mission going above and beyond for every detail. She spent countless hours working on this event that probably added up to less than minimum wage for her time but that truly showed me she LOVES what she does. She isn't out to break your bank, she's in it for a win-win situation where the planner and client both have the best optimum outcome. She responded to emails, texts, and calls quickly and professionally. I believe the biggest decision with providing advice here is whether or not I would book with Blue Moon again or not and my decision is YES. People either come here to say yes, no, or maybe, but mine is an affirmative yes because this isn't just a job for Melissa, it's a way of life. She cares for her clients as if they are family and now I consider her the same.
****Update****
I decided to give Melissa a test run by having her help me plan a party after reading reviews and speaking with her. After working with Melissa on the party, my partners 40th Birthday surprise, I knew I didn't have to look for a wedding planner because I had the best one in town! When I called her to let her know we were going to begin the wedding process she moved quick to help with all aspects of the process, she organized all the documents, kept in constant contact with all points of contacts, for the venue, catering, etc., she scheduled meetings/visits, kept me on schedule, easily acclimating edits/changes/additions, and on and on. She truly has a talent for this career. Melissa went above and beyond the last 30 days, 10 days, and day of the event to ensure all our bases were covered, my list of concerns were mitigated, and pulled of the most magical evening. Everyone kept saying it was the best wedding they ever attended, which was a big deal because our family members just had many weddings back-to-back. I owe that feedback to Melissa for pulling our vision together. If you are contemplating contacting her, go for it! I recommend a quick call with her to discuss your vision, budget, and where you see her fitting in. She has different packages to assist all scenarios. I believe you won't regret it! With Melissa at the wheel you will have more time to visit with friends/family, relax, and enjoy the entertainment/drinks that you paid for! Sounds like the best investment possible. Lastly, I will like to add that the biggest compliment someone is able to receive is wether or not you'd hire them again, and I would hire Melissa again. In fact, I did hire her again by having her plan the wedding! Thank you again Melissa for making our dream wedding a reality. I look forward to having you plan my next event.
Melissa is amazing! While we primarily hired Melissa as a day-of wedding coordinator, she was in constant contact with us throughout the entire wedding planning process via phone and e-mail. Melissa was especially helpful during the final month prior to our wedding; she helped us finalize timelines, confirm vendors, run rehearsal, and of course bring it all together the day of the event. There are so many little details we hadn't even thought of that she walked us through and helped us sort out. Her final timeline was a true work of art, as evidenced by the many compliments received from our wedding party and vendors, who all received a copy. She even went above and beyond her duties to help us sort a timeline for our pre-wedding events as well, and she coordinated all the vendors. The day of our wedding couldn't have gone more smoothly. We were relaxed the entire time and had a total blast. We had no hiccups, and it really felt like we just showed up at the wedding and every other detail had already been taken care of, allowing us to have the time of our life. We were extremely pleased with the level and quality of service we received from Melissa. If you are looking for a consummate professional that enjoys her job and does it expertly, I strongly recommend Melissa for your wedding coordinator needs!
Melissa is the absolute best! She gave us the most awesome party of our lives! I highly recommend her! She handled everything for our destination wedding and everything ran smoothly and all of our guests had a blast! People are still talking about it and calling it the wedding of the century!
