le ourselves on our big day. Thankfully, The Knot connected me with Bodette's BBQ, and I was pleasantly surprised to see all the positive reviews for Bodette's from his past clients online. I actually went so far as to message some of them on Facebook to verify they were "real" reviews (sorry, Joe!) and not long after, my inbox was flooded with replies from couples wanting to convince us that we MUST hire Bodette's for our big day. And now we are among them too. Joe had a small window of time I think 15 minutes or so) to get himself, his food and supplies, and four servers onto the pontoon shuttle, past the ceremony seats, and set up in the tent area before our ceremony began. They did so quickly, quietly, and without making a sound as they were setting up during our ceremony, only a few feet away. The food was in fact, amazing. We had about 62 people and ordered a spread to be served "family style:" BBQ chicken thighs, pulled pork, brisket, mac n cheese, broccoli bacon salad, roasted vegetables, and rosemary potatoes. Everything was outstanding, and people especially loved the ability to try a little of everything, and his specialty sauces (he brought a few and they were so delicious, everyone was asking for them the next day). Joe also took care of all the table settings for the meal, cleanup, and him and his crew cleared out after dinner quickly and quietly as our guests danced and continued to celebrate. Not to mention, our tent area had a small dance floor but not a full floor, and due to our root-removal prep to keep guests from tripping, we loosened up all this dirt that essentially covered the lower third of everyone for the entire reception. It was hot, humid, they had little time and space to move in and out, and the team inevitable left covered in a layer of dirt when they finished up, but they were pleasant, professional, and friendly the whole time. He also neatly packaged and labeled our leftovers which were gobbled up during a picnic the next day. I cannot recommend Joe and Bodette's BBQ highly enough. The experience was effortless with him, and the peace of mind knowing that he was ready for whatever we threw at him was priceless. There are so many things we worry about the day of and so many things that can go wrong. Hire Bodette's and the essential food component won't be one of them - you and your guests will have an amazing meal and catering experience. essional, and helpful! They were so accommodating through the planning process as well - they even looked into getting their Vt State Liquor License (they're from NY and the wedding was in VT) but unfortunately there were too many hoops to jump through to make it worth it for just one day.
