This was in my humble opinion one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in Colorado - let alone a wedding venue! Grassy green meadows, nestled up against the mountains with a gurgling creek behind the ceremony location .... it just doesn't get more serene. The "barn" that was built for the reception was just perfectly situated amongst the aspen trees and has a clean yet outdoorsy feel. To top it off, the gorgeous black horses with the carriage that the newlyweds get to ride in before and after the ceremony was literally out of a storybook. I couldn't imagine a more dreamy wedding. I am actually a live wedding painter (Colorado Wedding Painter Julia Dordoni) and had the honor to paint a wedding there a couple of days ago, and I was blown away the entire time!! Last but not least, the owner Erika was beyond sweet and welcoming... and truly a professional. She is the kind of person you would want to organize your wedding day. You really can't ask for a more gorgeous, down-to-earth, yet classy wedding, out of a storybook. This place has it all. I hope to be back.
This venue was perfect for us. We loved that we got to be there from Friday at noon to Sunday at noon. The venue was beautiful and the owners are really the best. A little expensive given that you have to set everything yourself. But worth it for convenience of ceremony and reception in one location.
The only issue was their dogs were off leash. They asked us to keep ours on but their dogs kept coming and playing with ours, even during the reception. Someone on the ranch even asked us if it was all right if he left his dog around while he left, and then was upset when I said no! The same man harassed me on Sunday to clean up after my dog even though the ranch dogs had been running around the entire weekend.
Great venue! Very beautiful! Has good amenities.
Jon and Cara run and incredible venue out of the sheer love of love. They open their home up to couples only in the summer for beautiful events that transport people to fairy tale mountain side. My wedding was amazing. If you can book for a full four days I suggest doing that because it's an epic place to relax and enjoy your loved ones.
It's hard to describe how great our wedding at Brush Canyon Ranch was. Everything was perfect and as we had hoped – the rain even held out! Cara and John were helpful throughout the entire planning process (we live in NYC) and on the day of continued to be there exactly when we needed them but never made us feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable. Many of our guests assumed that Cara and John were friends of the family and by the end of it, it certainly felt that way! Additionally, all of Cara's vendor recommendations were excellent.
Brush Canyon was exactly what we were looking for. The space was beautiful and made my Texas husband feel right at home! Kara and John were amazing. It rained on our wedding day and was only about 50 degrees. They hung around to make sure the rain stayed out of the venue and the heaters were on and in the right positions. I cannot express enough how wonderful the whole reception was here.
Brush Canyon Ranch was beyond our wildest dreams! The venue is gorgeous, the hosts are helpful, and the cabin onsite was really convenient to have the entire time. We loved the green field where we had the ceremony, the aspen grove where we took hundreds of photos, the gorgeous open pavilion, and the awesome outdoor dance floor! We could not have asked for a more perfect place to join our lives together! Thank you Christensons for hosting us and our guests!
The Christianson family is incredibly nice and professional. We loved working with Kara from the very beginning. Brush Canyon Ranch really is a hidden gem in Southern CO tucked up in the San Isabel National Forest. It was perfect for our ideal wedding and the 48 hour contract allowed us to have a place for our rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding as well. We were able to bring in our own vendors for food and alcohol which allowed us to serve our favorites to our guests from all over the country. Our ceremony took place in the field further down from the gazebo and had the most beautiful view of the mountain side as our backdrop... no arch was needed. We had about 140 people attend and had plenty of room for 15 tables, cookies, gifts, and a cake table as well. It was a perfect day in a perfect location. We were incredibly happy we picked the Brush Canyon Ranch to start our lives as husband and wife.
My husband and I got married August 15, 2015 at Brush Canyon Ranch in Rye, CO. We currently live in Nevada, so this was somewhat of a destination wedding for us and we were looking for a rustic yet elegant feel to our wedding. All I can say is WOW. This venue is absolutely beautiful. Stunning. Perfect for what we were looking for! We were able to book the ranch from Friday until Sunday which was so incredible. Most of our guests were from out of town, so we were able to use the ranch for the rehearsal dinner and entertaining the day before which was awesome! Also, they have built a beautiful cabin on site (which was included when booking!) and all of my bridesmaids and I spent the night before the wedding there sipping wine, chatting, and getting much need beauty sleep! We also did some final touches and got ready in the cabin the day of the wedding (it's a GREAT spot to watch all of your guests- and groom!- file in to the wedding, while you're still hidden!). :)
Before, during, and after our big day, the owners of the ranch were nothing but professional, helpful, so kind, and fun! They truly care about doing everything they can to make each and every wedding a dream come true.
We held our ceremony down on the ranch at the gazebo. The scenery all around is breathtaking and makes for magnificent photos during and after the ceremony! Did I mention the two big, BEAUTIFUL horses that provide a horse-drawn carriage entrance to the ceremony? This was gorgeous and really made our wedding one to remember.
We held our reception immediately after at the rustic pavilion on site which they have also made beautiful. There is an entire wall open to the mountain backdrop, lights strung from the ceiling, and a ton of room for eating, dancing, and having a GREAT time. There is even a designated smoking area which was great for our 'cigar bar!' There was no time the wedding had to end, so once the dancing stopped we had a fire in the pit provided and relaxed with late night s'mores. It was such a hit! Some of our guests even pitched a tent on site and slept under the stars. Let me tell you- the sunrise in the morning blew them away!
Overall, I cannot say enough great things about this venue. The rules and restrictions are very clear, yet the venue really allows you to make your wedding your own and provides you with a naturally beautiful, rustic, yet elegant environment.
I have heard from MANY guests that it was the most beautiful wedding they have every been to. Thank you Brush Canyon Ranch!
You don't need to go to northern Colorado to get married in the Colorado mountains! We got married on my grandfather's land about 3 miles away from Brush Canyon Ranch. We knew we wanted to have our reception nearby and Brush Canyon was just the place for us! Cara and the whole Christenson family were so kind and accommodating throughout the entire process. I grew up going to these mountains and I am so glad to have been able to share this beautiful ranch with our family and friends on our wedding day. My husband's family (from out of state) was able to stay in the cabin on the ranch (spacious, clean and convenient). The Brush Canyon website is so easy to navigate and gives you all the information you need on the venue specs, location, pricing and more. The website also provides a list of trusted vendors (I got all of my vendors from this list-which were all fantastic). Because you get the ranch from noon Friday until noon Sunday, we were able to set up the night before and have dinner with our families there the night before. It also allows you to enjoy your wedding night without having to clean up the night of after a night of dancing and fun! Added bonus, you don't have to haul your own garbage and you don't need to hire security because it isn't in the city. We had a little under 100 people in the pavilion and it could have comfortably held 150 or 200. There is a stream running behind the reception pavilion surrounded by aspens. In mid-July, it was about 70 degrees (cool for that time of year) all day and a little cooler at night. They have propane heaters in case it gets too cold into the night. You couldn't find a more beautiful venue nearby, especially in the city. We are so glad we went with Brush Canyon Ranch and I would recommend it to anyone for weddings or any other special celebration!
