With over 100 years of history and plenty of wildlife to show off, the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum in San Antonio, Texas, is a reception venue for couples who want an elegant reception with an old west feel. Only two blocks from the Alamo and one block from the highly esteemed Riverwalk, the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum is in the center of everything. Guests will feel like they've entered the old west upon entry into the museum with the old-fashioned saloon bar, deer heads on the wall and old west decorations. Receptions can take place in one of three places within the museum.
The Buckhorn Museum. Seating 500 people for an elegant reception or up to 2,000 for a standing-only reception, the museum is full of Texas history. Guests can peruse the taxidermy wildlife on display, learn a bit about Texas history and enjoy food and cocktails.
Toepperwein Room. Overhead lighting, wood floors and wood beams create a warm, western ambiance in this reception room. Holding up to 420 seated guests or 500 for a standing-only reception, this room is elegant and spacious for socializing and dancing.
Texas Ranger Museum. A smaller, separate museum that can hold up to 100 guests for a seated reception or 150 for a walk and talk reception, this museum showcases the history of the Texas Ranger. There is a replication of the town of San Antonio at the turn of the century that guests can browse.
