Chapter One Photo and Video

n the company the week before our wedding and the people we originally spoke with and thought we were working with were no longer at chaperone. We ended up hiring a back up photographer in fear that no one would show up. Chapter one ended up sending out people who were subcontracted to them and they did a fine job, however was not the original style we had visioned for our wedding. After spending so much money it was a major let down and honestly made my wedding day so much more stressful. We ended up getting our video back and many of the moments we were promised like our first dance, cutting our cake, our generations dance were not in the video. The photographer and videographer themselves were standing in the way of our ceremony and all you see is the back of their head. The video ended up getting re-edited and sent back. This time they added dances in the video for the reception (still no cake cutting or people on the dance floor) and all they did was cut out the portion of our ceremony where all we saw were the back of the videographer and photographers heads. The pictures we received were fine however they were not edited in the slightest. I am tired of fighting with this company, but would like to send it out as a warning not to book them and save others the added stress during an already stressful time of wedding planning.

onfident until the week of my wedding when I still had no knowledge of the schedule, who was coming, my requests, etc., Reaching them is absolutely impossible and not productive when you do actually get in touch, most likely will be Merry. I spoke with three different people the few days leading up to my wedding and the day of was a completely new person with no knowledge of my previous discussion with whoever it was. I received my video on the very last day of the contracted delivery date and it has none of my recommended footage. (first look with my father) I am a month short of my first anniversary and I am still getting the run around with Merry about getting my edits made. I have requested the raw footage to do it myself and every email I get the same response, "We are so sorry for all your troubles, we never want to upset our customers. I will reach back out to my edit team on a status of your request" and then I never hear anything again until I send another email asking for an update. Because they contract out their videographers they still own our footage and our videographer cannot send us the raw footage he took without breaking his contract with them. A complete mess for 365 days so far. DO NOT HIRE. DO NOT CONSIDER.

regret hiring Chapter One for my event videography. The company cannot be reached by phone, and are unresponsive via email, making any preparation and communication before the event impossible. On the rare chance i actually reached someone, it was a different representative each time. Be aware that they contract out all videographers, and the person showing up to the event will likely have no knowledge of the event details or preparation from the company.

d a $2,650 dollar deposit. With multiple attempts on our end, we have had ABSOLUTELY NO contact with "Mitch." Mitch was supposedly employed by Chapter One, and our local contact for our wedding. Multiple text messages have been sent, calls have been made.. with no return. Even better... my phone number was BLOCKED. Due to our inability to get into contact with Mitch, we reached out to " Merry" who claims to be the Client Relationship Manager for Chapter One. Who has simply dodged every request for a refund of our deposit. At this time we have not heard from Merry in over a week. Prior to this, herself and "her team" were allegedly determining grounds for a refund. Of course, we have not received said refund, and if I had to guess based off of their utter lack of professionalism, we wouldn't have had a photographer or videographer on our big day. We have taken every route available to report this company as fraudulent- they have been reported to the Better Business Bureau, and Federal Trade Commission. Please STAY AWAY from this fraudulent, unprofessional, and disgusting company.

The second cut was beyond what we could have imagined! Many happy tears were shed throughout the whole video!

the wedding, and took charge filming multiple different events throughout the wedding day and night. They were so kind and professional, we had such a good time with them. Getting the videos back, which included a highlight reel, and full videos of our ceremony and speeches and cake cutting, was absolutely a highlight of the whole wedding experience! They did such a beautiful job editing together the whole day and making for a cohesive film that showcased the best day of my life! They are also so easy to work with, you will not regret hiring chapter one for your wedding!

not find a better videographer!

TO have that video. I knew I'd regret it if I didn't do it (if you are reading this and you're not sure... DO IT. I will cherish the video that Chapter One recorded for us). I watched our video for the first time yesterday--Chapter One was willing to give me exactly what I wanted. Raw footage from the start to the end of our ceremony. Someone asked me: How many times are you REALLY going to watch that video though? Is it worth the money? YES. A thousand times, yes. Years from now, we'll cherish having our family members in that video. Many of them spoke during our ceremony, and someday, they'll no longer be with us. My children are in that video... one of them is a baby and will never remember the ceremony... but he'll have it forever. We all will. It provides such a different aspect of our wedding... things I didn't see happening because I'm the bride and I was the last one to arrive at the ceremony, now I got to see it all and hear it all. I could hear people whispering how beautiful I looked as I walked down the aisle... things I didn't hear in the moment. Now I have it forever. I also took screen-captures from the video (photos), and I have those too. Mitch arrived and needed no instruction from me. He set up, he did his job professionally, and said hello to us before departing. He was so professional and I appreciated it because absolute mayhem was happening right at ceremony time with the weather. I was running late and trying to get into my dress and I just couldn't have helped Mitch if he needed a single thing. Luckily, he didn't. He produced our video in less than two weeks and we are overjoyed at the result. If you are looking for a videographer, you need to stop now and hire this one. If you aren't sure if you want the video of your wedding.... YOU WANT IT. All you will walk away from your wedding with are memories, photos, and video. Do the videography.
