Charlie Roman Hot Club is a wedding band based out of New York City specializing in jazz from the Golden Era. Want to spice up your wedding with a dapper group that plays fun and danceable music? Then look no further! We can bring a memorable night of music from a three piece band to a 10 piece! The HOT CLUB is a collective of virtuosic and fun musicians from all over the world. With our wide musical repertoire, we will transport you from the smoky Parisian ballrooms of the 1930s swing era to New Orleans, Spain, and old New York. Hot Club specifically refers to a style of jazz created by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, who famously started an all-string jazz quintet in 1930s Paris playing the music of Louis Armstrong and jazz greats of the 1920s and 30s. This unique style commonly later became know as gypsy jazz or hot club jazz. We specialize in this style of jazz but often play in any configuration with instruments such as Saxophone, trumpet, accordion, Clarinet, Violin, and more. We play a diverse catalog of vintage, Latin, gyspy, and vocal jazz; our hot club will surely liven up your night with a timeless interpretation of jazz standards and more. Charlie Roman is a fast and upcoming name in the worldwide hot jazz and swing scene. Leading hot jazz bands of multiple instrumentations, he is known for his unique and fiery rhythm style on the guitar. Paired with enchanting vocal stylings from the Romantic years of Jazz history's Golden Era, Charlie is winning the hearts of any audience member to pass upon him. Charlie leads a six-piece band at the annual Jazz Age Lawn party on Governors Island. He also leads a ten-piece 1920s jazz orchestra that plays popular music of the era. Django Reinhardt fans come to see Charlie weekly, where he leads a Parisian-style hot jazz band in Times Square every Thursday at the Rosevale Cocktail Room. Playing weekly at famous places such as Scarlet Bar, owned by Michael Imperioli, Cafe Dante every Friday ( Worlds #1 Bar 2019), and upscale jazz clubs, Charlie bedazzles listeners nightly. Hot jazz refers to jazz music that makes you want to move your feet, dance, and be happy. It ranges from the 1920s to the 1930s. Charlie plays jazz into the 40s and 1950s, the 50s taking repertoire from Bing Crosby, Cole Porter, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, The Ink Spots, Sina,tra, and more. The band is happy to accommodate any request and can play any style in the jazz genre.
