Derek from Chase Images impressed me from day one. He was one of the first photographers I reached out to when I started planning my wedding and I was never disappointed that I chose him as quickly as I did. I am originally from Pittsburgh and always wanted to have my wedding there, but I moved away from the area several years ago. I was nervous that trying to plan a wedding remotely would be difficult, but Derek was my one constant. He was responsive to all of my questions and emails. He didn’t hesitate to accommodate me when COVID forced us to postpone our wedding. He was genuinely excited to be part of our wedding and our guests couldn’t get enough of him and his second photographer. They were never intrusive, yet somehow managed to capture all of those little moments you hope to never forget. My husband and I are approaching our first anniversary and we still manage to find new details in the pictures that we forgot about. I am so thankful that Derek was there to capture those memories for us!

Chase Images did an amazing job with our wedding pictures. I cannot stop viewing our photo gallery and we have yet to chose the pictures for our album. After booking Chase Images we had the opportunity to have engagement pictures taken. They were great and I knew from that point that we had chosen well for our wedding day. Derek and Dan were with us for a 12 hour day. They scouted a beautiful fall back drop for photos with our bridal party and encouraged us to have sunset photos taken before arriving to our reception. They made the whole experience of having pictures taken relaxing and fun for us and our bridal party. Our pictures are classy, charming & sweet and capture us so perfectly. It was great to see so many candids of our guests in the gallery too. Chase Images was fabulous, attentive and very professional. We are so thankful to Chase Images for memories that we and our families will treasure forever.

Derek and Daniel came to do a walk through of our venue a few weeks before the wedding and it was so helpful to us! We discussed where our photos would be taken and what was important to us. My husband and I very specifically wanted a photographer who took images that were artistic but natural, and captured the emotions of the day. It is true that the day goes by fast, and I was able to revisit and fully take in the events that took place through our images. My husband and I chose to hire Derek with Chase Images for our wedding photos and we're so glad we did. From the start, Derek was a great communicator and quick to respond to any concerns or questions we might have had. During our engagement photos session he got to know us and really listened to what we were looking for. We got all of our engagement photos back in a few weeks, but he gave us 10 great ones within a few days because he knew we wanted to send out save the dates soon. On the wedding day, Derek was professional, good at keeping everyone calm but also on schedule, and captured magnificent shots but was never in the way of anything going on. His second shooter Jason was also fantastic. Derek was shooting photos for our wedding for almost 12 hours but the next day he still shared with us 12 awesome pictures, and that was so fun to be able to share immediately with our friends and family. He also got us our entire edited wedding album just 2 and a half weeks after our wedding. He captured all the photos we knew we wanted plus so many other fantastic shots. I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone getting married!

My husband and I hired Derek to shoot both our engagement photos and wedding. I honestly could not be more pleased. They turned out incredible - I have gorgeous artsy photos, but also classic wedding portraits - not to mention, each of my guests was captured at least once in the wedding album which means so much to me. I am by no means an easy going bride and having to postpone with COVID did not help at all - Derek was absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process and had no problems answering any of my questions. Derek's second shooter was great as well - my husband absolutely hates getting his photo taken so the fact that he had fun during both our engagement shoot and the wedding is incredible. Seriously, cannot recommend enough. If you are a bride with high anxiety (like myself), Derek is the way to go - you will get a ton of amazing photos and no question is a dumb question. As an aside. I am all of 5'3" and in one of my engagement photos my legs look like that of a 5'11 model (needless to say that photo is hung up in my house) - incredible, flattering photography. Absolutely nothing negative about this experience!

I recommend Derek, the man behind Chase Images, without any reservations whatsoever. He and his second photographer, Jason, did an excellent job capturing both candid and formal photos on our wedding day, and was also a great vendor to work with leading up to and following our wedding. In addition to his great eye for stunning photos, he was extremely professional and flexible as a vendor. You never know when these traits will come in handy, but working with someone like Derek relieved a lot of the stress of wedding planning. Like many couples this year, we originally planned a 2020 wedding and Derek was more than accommodating for our new wedding date. Additionally, since we don't live in Pittsburgh, much of our communication was via email, and Derek was always quick to respond, answered whatever questions we had, and was really great about working with our schedule to meet in person when we did come back to Pittsburgh prior to our wedding. Probably most importantly, Derek NAILED all of the shots that we wanted and also took great photos that we wouldn't have ever thought of. Weather on our wedding day changed every five minutes, and despite the tricky shooting conditions outdoors, we ended up with really great "moody" photos with dark clouds as well as perfectly-exposed pictures from inside our venue. Overall, I can't recommend Derek or the rest of his team highly enough!

From our initial zoom meeting, I knew we picked the right person to capture our wedding day! Derek and Jason were amazing! Both were so easy to work with. All of my pictures were captured and they even had some ideas that I didn’t think of! I love that in a photographer! Highly recommend!!

I can't even begin to describe the AMAZING experience that we had with Derek. He was the photographer for our friends wedding and from what I saw, we knew we needed to meet with him. From the moment we met with him in a small coffee shop, we both had an instant connection with him. Derek is very easy going and has a great eye. We had so much fun during our engagement shoot that we knew our wedding would be even more special. Derek and Jason captured every minute of our wedding. From the moment they arrived at the hotel until we all left the reception, they were there for it all. I had multiple guest tell me how much they enjoyed watching the photographers capture the day and could tell how much they enjoyed doing this. The few pictures I have seen from our wedding bring tears to my eyes. Derek was kind enough to share a sneak peak while on our honeymoon, we were thrilled! Derek had such a beautiful vision for our day. The talent and professionalism that Derek has is like no other. He's the best of the best. We look forward to working with him in the future!

MUST USE VENDOR!!! Personable, Artistic and Visionary. I am pretty shy and not one who likes posing for pictures. But Derek makes you feel very comfortable. He is open to any pictures you want to take. One thing I LOVED is that you could just be walking down some steps and he will say, "Wait! Stop, I see something" and he has this vision for an amazing picture. (Can you tell this happened to me day of the wedding?!) For the engagement pictures there were so many amazing pictures it was so hard to choose from for the Save the Date!! For the wedding I did have some specific pictures I wanted due to the venue and Derek captured all of them!! I had a specific list for the family pictures the day of the wedding (and of course, day of, the family was more lenient about what pictures they wanted.... go figure), but Derek came with a list to make sure all were taken. SO THANK YOU for being so prepared in case they did want all of those pictures! He has a form that is super organized to fill out so he knows all the times of the events and what pictures to take when. Throughout the day he came in to check in on me and my girls. Take some candid's. Check in on the guys. He also walked around the venue to spot out some locations for pictures after the ceremony. This was perfect because during cocktail hour pictures ran very smoothly and efficiently. Even family was complimenting on Derek because they could just tell he was capturing everything!!! Also, nothing took too long that everyone go to enjoy their time. You get every picture taken for the engagement and wedding. So you can remanence on this time forever. The day of the wedding, he was at the venue at 1130am until 10ish pm? Derek and his 2nd photographer will literally be there to make sure he captures your entire day. Others you have to pay extra if they will be at the wedding over 8 hours. But not Derek, he will be there for unlimited hours day of, which is very convenient when you want him to capture the hair/make up portion of your day and have a long reception. My now husband and I are obsessed with every photo he has shared so far! We can not wait for our wedding pictures to come out. Yes I am writing this before the wedding pictures are officially out. We already know they will be amazing. Thank you Derek for capturing our amazing day!! You were the perfect photographer for us!!!

I would like to start this review off by saying that Derek at Chase Images was so wonderful to work with. We are not typically the couple to write reviews, but Derek and his co-worker Jason deserve all the praise and more! We began taking engagement photos with him back in November 2020, and immediately he was easy to get along with and talk to. He listened to what we were looking for and what parts in Pittsburgh we wanted to have the photos taken. Derek has extensive experience in the Pittsburgh area and had excellent recommendations for specific sites in locations to take the photos. Our favorite part was that he took our suggestions into consideration, and we took a photo on the tennis court that both my wife and I love! The turnaround time and quality of the photos were both 5/5 Stars. We recently had our wedding on June 5th 2021: He and his co-worker, Jason, each took photos from morning while we were getting ready up until the last drink was poured at the reception. At the end of the day, we considered them an official part of our bridal party! They kept everyone laughing and captured all of the big moments. We have already begun recommending Derek and his team at Chase Images to our friends and family who are having upcoming weddings and/or are in relationships. Save yourself the hassle of looking around for other photographers, and book at Chase Images. Their customer service, price, and quality are all phenomenal and exceeded all expectations.

Derek, our photographer from Chase Images, was wonderful. Our original photographer was unable to shoot our wedding and Derek was able to help us in a bind! He was very flexible and professional. The shots were natural and really captured who my husband and I are. We both don’t always feel comfortable in front of the camera and Derek made it easy to pose by giving us directives and putting us at ease. I love my photos from our day and I can’t wait to hang them in my home.

I found Derek on The Knot. My husband and I LOVED working with him. He was very accommodating and understanding throughout the whole process of our wedding. I cannot recommend Derek and his team enough!! He is everything you want in a professional photographer- reliable, prepared, flexible, detail-oriented, creative, and (of course) extremely talented. The wedding packages he offers are very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of service you receive. On top of all of that, Derek is also so personable and easy to work with. He will make you feel comfortable in front of a camera, which shows in the final product. For our engagement session, he traveled out of state and arrived an hour early just to scout shooting locations. On our wedding day, Derek and his team not only stuck to our time-crunched schedule but also came up with some amazing suggestions of places/poses to shoot that I would have never thought of myself. We were thrilled when we checked social media the very next morning and Derek had already posted a "sneak peak." We received the rest of our photos three weeks later, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Derek captured every moment perfectly- from the formal family photos in the church to the candid shots on the dance floor. We have gotten so many compliments about them from our friends and family. Derek was great! So relaxed, no stress. He and Jason worked with us on what we wanted, but also gave suggestions that turned out beautiful! They were on time, super nice and professional! Absolutely amazing! Derek is exactly the kind of photographer you want for your wedding. He is organized, easy to communicate with, creative and plans ahead. He asked us to make a list of the photos we wanted (family members etc) and it made it so much easier to take the pictures without wasting precious time on our wedding day. Derek and his assistant (I think his name was Jason, I feel bad that I don't remember exactly) arrived at the wedding and just got to work! He didn't need someone to tell him what to do nor did he stand around waiting for someone to tell him what to take pictures of. When my husband and In first met with him, we basically just said said yeah we need some pictures. Derek pulled out some of his other work and gave us all kinds of ideas! He even took time to drive my husband and I to a new lighting exhibit downtown to take pictures and went as far as to lay down on the street just to get a good picture. Yes, this guy cares so much about his work he is willing to lie down on the city streets of Pittsburgh. Really nice guy and just an overall amazing photographer. You can tell he is passionate about his work and doesn't look at his events as just another paycheck. Also, it isn't like he left our wedding and we haven't communicated with him since. Even before finishing all our photos, he posted a few on his instagram! Most photographers leave your event and tell you that they'll let you know when your photos are ready, but not Derek. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Derek is amazing. I have been a fan of his work for a long time, so to have him photograph our wedding was really fantastic. He lived up to my expectations and more. I was the “no worries” type of bride... I really wanted to make no decisions and let my vendors handle all the work, and Chase Images held up their end of the bargain. Derek had never been to my venue before, and yet he had great ideas for different places and poses for pictures. Derek and his second photographer (Jason) were SO EASY to work with.. funny, easy going, and relaxed. They stuck to our timeline and got great photos of us through the day, into the night. Honestly, I forgot they were even there throughout the reception. The day moves SO FAST.. and somehow Derek managed to capture ALL of my favorite memories of our day.. seriously, how is that possible??? THANK YOU Derek.

I would highly recommend Derek for your wedding. We booked him for our engagement photos and wedding and he did an incredible job. He was very professional and personable. When it looked like it would rain on our wedding day, he helped me come up with a rain plan for pictures and suggested a great spot. Our wedding pictures turned out wonderfully despite the rain and I couldn't be happier with them! The second photographer he brought also did a wonderful job and it was clear they were both very experienced. Derek did a great job capturing all the highlights of our reception and great candid pictures of the night too!

Derek was absolutely amazing! I am not by any means a photogenic person but I am completely in love with all my pictures! Everything from the happy tears during the wedding to all the girls almost knocking each other out to catch that damn bouquet! He was so patient with us (we are those nuts who asked to have their 1 year old crazy puppy in their engagement pictures!), he rolled with all our crazy timeline changes. I have a massive family (mom, Dad, step mom, step dad, + my husbands family, my mom has 8 siblings) and we were able to get photos of each individual group! Long story short: Derek rocked it. My pictures are fabulous. I couldn’t have picked a better photographer.

We booked Derek for our engagement photo shoot as well as for our wedding, and he was outstanding. Very laid back and calm, which is always in short supply when going through the wedding process. The second shooter he brought along for our wedding was also very calm, personable, and professional. They were a great team. He also helped me find a videographer since it was a last minute decisions and I was running out of options. From what I saw, the photographers and videographers worked very well together. The final product was better than I could have imagined since it rained buckets that day, and I couldn't be happier! Thanks Derek!

Derek was amazing from the very beginning! He was on-time and prepared for our initial consultation, and was really able to build a package that met our needs and wants. I am Eastern Orthodox, and even though he had never captured pictures for an Orthodox wedding before, he went out of his way to be prepared including attending our rehearsal and speaking with the priest about Do's and Do Not's. On the day of, Derek and his second photographer Jason were well prepared with the list of pictures we wanted. They truly helped to keep everything going smoothly and running on our desired timeline. Derek and Jason worked seemlessly together, and fed off each others excitement for different pictures - we absolutely cannot wait to see our pictures, despite historically not feeling particularly photogenic! My now husband surprised me when he proposed but he really surprised me when there was a strange man taking photos of us during our proposal. That strange man was Derek from Chase Images! We had such a wonderful time having Derek take our photos the day my husband proposed to me and after seeing the photographs I knew that we were going to be using Chase Images again. We booked another photo session with Derek for our Engagement photos. Derek is so easy going and willing to meet us anywhere we wanted to go. We got our Engagement photos done in Mellon Park and it was great because Derek had shot there before so he knew what time would be good for us and he knew the areas that would look the best. We loved our photos so much that we hired him again for our wedding! He captured our wedding day beautifully. We got married at Saint Mary of the Mount and he took amazing shots in the church, outside the church, and on the outlook. Chase Images did an overall wonderful job and now my husband and I are having trouble narrowing down all the photos we want to put on our walls! I would highly recommend to anyone getting married around Pittsburgh to hire Chase Images!

We couldn't be happier with Chase Images. Planning for wedding photos can be (surprisingly) difficult since you have to gel well with your photographer. After meeting with a half dozen photographers it was clear that Derek was the most talented, easy going and sociable. We've gotten dozens of compliments (and hundreds of "likes") from just a couple photos he's showcased so far. I'd recommend Chase Images to anyone and everyone.

Derek is amazing at what he does. I love all of our pictures from our Big Day! Even a month out from our wedding, I find myself forgetting small things that Derek was able to capture for us. I am so pleased with how all of our pictures came out! Derek made the whole picture-taking process easy, especially for us not-so-photogenic people. Thank you so much!

The best parts of hiring Derek of Chase Photography is that he has a great eye for composition and variety and he is professional and flexible. Our day went very smoothly, he communicated well with us prior to the event, and was able to accommodate our timeline and wishes throughout the day. Super flexible, very polite, and well-dressed for the occasion! Additionally, we found our finished gallery to be consistent and well-edited. Our venue was unique—not an upscale joint by any means… but the images that Derek turned around made our perfect day look like a high-end affair that belonged in a magazine! The pricing is absolutely comparible with professional photographers in our geographical region and we felt we got a fair value for the pricetag. I do have a few remarks that we found in our experience with Derek: You’ll need to evaluate whether or not Derek’s stated timeline will work for you when you’re thinking about your finished images. You’ll get a sneak peek image, and then the contract says 4-6 weeks for a finished gallery. Ours took 7 or 8 weeks. With regard to timing, Derek does not only do wedding photography, he enjoys photographing abandoned properties and cityscapes as well, so you may see some of those peppered in with his social media posts prior to receiving your edited images, as was the case with us, which didn’t make us feel like a priority. If you’re not in a major hurry for your gallery, this isn’t a big issue. Derek’s second shooter on our big day was a gentleman named Chris, who is also super talented! You’ll be lucky with any second shooter Derek chooses to work with, as you can clearly see from his portfolio that all of his second shooters fit SEAMLESSLY into his photography/editing style. Due to the all-male-shooting-duo, however, we didn’t get any feedback regarding aesthetic details while we were shooting --in some images I feel like my face could have used a blotting sheet, in other posed images I didn’t feel as though we hit the right angle/pose for a flattered silhouette. These are obviously nitpicky items to me, who has experience shooting and editing, and certainly were not an overwhelming issue, and did not affect the majority of our shots. Aside from the timeliness of the gallery and my picking apart a couple technical items like poses, we found no issues with Chase photography and I would certainly recommend them to any bride in the area who wants beautiful, timeless images. Our gallery perfectly captured our happiness and we will cherish our images for as long as we live. Derek is great to work with and I hope he continues to photograph weddings for many years to come.

I'll make this really simple, with all the craziness and stress that comes with getting married Derek was the one thing I never had to worry about. He's so professional and really goes the extra mile. He takes beautiful pictures. Worth every penny!

We were very happy with our wedding photography. Both of the photographers were very professional. We had our images back within a month. We received a nice USB drive as well. We would highly recommend Chase Images to any couple getting married. Derek even found a great place for pictures when we were unsure of a location.

Derek was the absolute perfect photographer for our wedding day! We had Derek plus a 2nd shooter capture our big day. Derek was so accommodating, and took beautiful photos at all 4 of our locations. I was referred to Derek through another friend who used him as her photographer in her wedding! I looked at reviews and his work. We met for a brief session in a coffee shop, and I instantly booked him. He has the most calming and relaxed personality- which considering his meticulous attention to detail- is a rare find. His prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for the product he delivers. During the weeks preceding the wedding, he kept me on track as to what he needed; he made sure I was going to get what I wanted out of his photos! The day of, we made plans for him and his second shooter, and they stuck exactly to the timeline. They were incredibly prepared, and their equipment seemed to be top notch to me. They knew exactly what shots to get in the short amount of time they both had prior to going to the church for our ceremony. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with Derek and Jason all day long. I felt completely at ease and didn't have to worry about one thing. I'm a very picky person, and like I said before, Derek pays as much attention to detail as I do. He photographed every important moment (somehow, he's fast!) and from different angles. They're very creative in making opportunities for photos happen, which is not a quality that all photographers have. It is apparent that Derek is incredibly enthusiastic and loves photographing weddings especially. He takes his work seriously! I am extremely grateful to the both of them, as I have over 800 photos to enjoy for the rest of my life with my husband!

Well I cannot say enough great things about Chase Images! Derek shot our engagement pictures back in October which we absolutely LOVED! We just got married June 11th and we have not received back all of our pictures yet but the sneak peaks were both perfect. Derek is super nice and laid back, he doesn't force you to do poses that aren't natural or uncomfortable. He has a great eye and even scoped out both locations prior for the engagement shoot as well as the after pictures for the wedding. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone and can't wait to see the rest of our pictures!

Derek and company were amazing! So creative and such great personalities. They made it so fun and lighthearted we actually went over on our photo time because it was surprisingly enjoyable (we are not the photo shoot type). Throughout the whole process Derek was attentive and really listened to what we wanted. You can tell that they really enjoy what they do and care about their clients..... Our pictures turned out incredible. The talent with Derek and his team is outstanding. The most important thing, at least for us, was that Derek took it 360. From the first meeting to weeks after the wedding the communication, dedication, and appreciation didn't stop. Derek at Chase Images was our wedding photographer, and he did an absolutely amazing job. Looking through the photos was like reliving all the best moments of our wedding day. We found Derek, from Chase Images, on The Knot (how every bride finds everything I would assume!) and we couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out! He was there on time and very comfortable to work with. Taking that many pictures can seem so staged and awkward, but not with him. I gave him a couple ideas of what I wanted and he ran with it. I didn't save a lot of room for photography in my budget, but he was able to work with me and give me exactly what I wanted with what I had to spend. I'm not sure I can adequately describe how amazing the photographers from Chase have been. The photography is above excellent and the photographers are easy to communicate with and work with. The photos will be what we will have after all is said and done and I'm so glad we chose this company to capture our memories.
