Service: Like all of the wedding vendors, it was difficult to decipher which photographer to choose (especially when you don't know anything about photography, and all the photos start to look the same). We met with several photographers before meeting Mike and Nat, but we weren't swept away, and we wanted to be as it was one of the larger expenses. I chose to meet with Mike and Nat based on their yelp reviews and was impressed by how many awards they've won. Our meeting with them was the best one as they are warm and professional. They don't pressure you into any services (they tell you that you can decide at any time). They even invited us over for dinner for us to get to know one another. I would recommend an engagement shoot if you can afford it, as it makes you more comfortable on the day of (I felt a little awkward during the engagement shoot, but by the time the wedding day rolled around we felt at ease, and I feel the pictures show that). Quality: My friends who I shared our photos with raved about how good they were. Mike and Nat have a synergy that allows them to capture a full complement of beautiful formal and candid photos. What sets them apart is how innovative they are with the types of photos, backgrounds, poses, etc. and how well they capture light (I can definitely see how they won all of those awards!). We would definitely use them again for any family photos, events, etc.
It's been almost a year since our wedding, and it hasn't been a month where I wouldn't get really sad about my choice of photographers. We picked Choco Studio because of all the great reviews. There were cheaper options available but we wanted the best. Well... We ended up with something far from the best. Many family and bridal party photographs were messed up--people looking away, standing too far from everyone else, etc. I would think a good photographer would tell people where to stand, etc. Instead, they were just shooting what was in front of them without really paying any attention. Moreover, during the wedding reception, we constantly had to ask the photographers to take pictures because we would just see them just standing there and do nothing. The worst part of it all is that we don't have a single portrait of me and my husband, just a simple photograph of just the two of us that every couple would want to have. When we received the pictures, I couldn't believe we didn't have one. My mother-in-law even suggested we dress up again and just go to a different studio to redo our wedding photo shot. I know it sounds ridiculous, but that's how upset everyone in my family is. Now, when people ask me if I know a good wedding photographer to hire, I tell them I don't, but I do know who I wouldn't hire.
Worthy of awards....gorgeous photos!Reviewed on 11/06/2012 Laura B
Choco Studio was recommended to me and my husband by friends of ours who used Mike and Nat for their wedding. My husband was adamant about using Choco as he was so impressed with them at our friend’s wedding. Mike and Nat were a pleasure to work with and they are very talented and excellent at what they do. We first met Choco at their studio to discuss our wedding and also understand more about the way they work, their photo packages, and to understand how to ensure we had the best photos possible. They had a range of packages available and something to fit in anyone’s budget. Mike and Nat both were very responsive to our emails and requests and always one step ahead of us in the planning process! We agreed to have our engagement photos done for a few reasons but mainly to get comfortable with working with Mike and Nat. We had our session in Sanborn Park in the early evening which was lovely. Mike and Nat are both very fun and got fabulous pictures of us. What we liked most was that the pictures were real, not posed or forced. After our fun session, we grabbed dinner together to get to know them better. They are genuine people and really interested in capturing the essence of a couple. On our wedding day, Choco arrived promptly and got straight to work. They took pictures of all the little details that some people might miss. As the day flies by, it is great to see all those little details documented. Throughout the ceremony and reception, Mike and Nat were everywhere! We just received our pictures and they did an exceptional job with every photo…all the way from the preparation through to dancing. The images and expressions they captured are priceless and help us to recollect everything that happened that day. We have shared our photos with family and friends and they can’t say enough good things about them. They exceeded our expectations in every way. We can’t wait to frame some of our favorites in our home. We would highly recommend Mike and Nat at Choco Studio to anyone! If we could rate them a 10 we would!

You want these guys. Trust me.Reviewed on 12/29/2011 Miriam R
I can't imagine having anyone but Mike and Nat document our wedding. They helped us plan what was most important to us and helped us stay on schedule on the day of the wedding. They are the perfect mix of flexibility and professionalism and beyond that they were involved and courteous, creative and spontaneous, trustworthy and artistic. You can tell they love what they do and we love that they do it so well! Our pictures are to die for- which meant a lot to us because much of our family is overseas and couldn't make it. They helped us (mostly me) break out of our shells for some magical bridal portraits and snuck around like ninjas capturing meaningful moments during the reception without the photographed ever being aware. In addition, they worked on our pictures quickly and had them out o us within less than a month, and that was over the holiday season! I am incredibly impressed with their service as well as their talents and would highly recommend them.

Reliving the day of through Choco's photosReviewed on 5/30/2011 Analisa H
I just got married in April and happened to find Choco several months before the wedding. I was browsing Google images from weddings taken at the same place I was getting married and Choco had shot a wedding there, thus they came up in the search. I looked at their work and loved it. I wanted the photo-journalistic style of photos and they had exactly what I needed. My husband and I met with them once and immediately booked them. We didn't do an engagement session. We were traveling a lot and just decided we'd do a "trash the dress" session (which we are currently scheduling) after the wedding. We just got our photos from the wedding back and they are AMAZING. I am so happy that we went with Choco. I think the photographers are one of the most important parts of a wedding. 50 years from now, that's what you will have, your wedding photos. And I am so incredibly happy I booked Choco. We did some posed pictures before the ceremony. But it was so cold and chaotic that I am happy I went with Choco for their "capture the moment" style. I didn't notice them all night, which is HUGE for me. I didn't want to be talking to someone and stop to pose for a picture. And I didn't want every picture to look the same with me and my husband posing or me and guests posing and smiling with that same smile everyone has specifically reserved for photos. Instead they captured moments and I am so happy they did. One of the most touching photos they captured is one of my grandmother, sitting and watching our first dance. She has been around since the day I was born and raised me with my mother. She was so sick leading up to the wedding and made it because was determined to see me get married and see the first dance between me and my husband. But you see in her face how incredibly happy she is in that moment. I don't think that moment could have been captured if they made everyone pose for pictures. I can see in her eyes how happy she is to be there. And that photo is now, more than ever, so precious to me as she passed away three weeks after the wedding. I highly recommend going with Choco for your wedding. Mike and Nat are very sweet and personable. They're easy to talk to and we were comfortable with them from the start. And I promise you, when you look at your wedding photos, you'll have a ton of friends who took posed pictures, but Mike and Nat's photos are what preserve the memories and moments of the night.

Super professional and beautiful photographyReviewed on 8/27/2010 Angela W
I fell in love with their photos from their blog, and decided I wanted them for our wedding pretty quickly. Mike and Natasha are really nice people, and I felt they really cared about their couples. They were one of the most professional photographers that we 'interviewed' - with a nice take home portfolio that you could look at with pricing and contract etc. Once we booked them they even sent me a really nice day-of emergency care package! When we got our photos I was blown away by how beautiful they were. Like I saw in their past work, there were both artistic shots, as well as fantastic candid shoots capturing moments on the fly. Often with other photographers only one or the other was good. So why minus 1 star? I might change this later, but we ordered an album from them, and so far my husband and I were not extremely happy with the first draft... It seemed a little rushed (although I can understand that it's wedding season right now, and they have their own wedding to plan as well, but we still expect the same quality as they have shown us in their sample albums) We will see how the final product turns out after I send comments/suggestions. They are on the pricier end, but it's worth it, because the photos are the only thing you take away from your big day that lasts!

Mike and Natasha were a wonderful team. They were very discreet and we did not even notice they were around taking pictures! They took amazing footage of our entire day and they both have such a great eye for what would make an awesome picture.
