Based in Oakland, CA, Classic Vybe is a string ensemble that caters to weddings and other occasions. Ideal for all age groups, this group can tailor their sound to suit any crowd. Past performances have been recorded with notable artists like Demi Lovato, Pete Yorn, Slash, and Margaret Cho. Anything from Motown to folk can be played by Classic Vybe. Alongside a wide range of genres, varying sizes of ensembles are available. From a talented soloist to an entertaining string quartet, Classic Vybe has every aspect of the wedding covered. Classic Vybe allows the addition of guitarists and pianists from their sister band, Vybe Society. With this added sound, any musical preference can be satisfied. Classic Vybe is happy to make weddings and other social occasions musically magical and would be pleased to answer any questions you may have. We can assist with all your musical needs for your special day. y to work the crowd. We have heard unsolicited enthusiastic reviews from many of our guests. We had a trio for the cocktail hour and eight-piece for the reception—loved the horns!! These talented artists learned several songs just for us. We even hired our ceremony violinist through Catherine, and this soloist learned custom pieces for the bride too. Special thanks go to Vybe lead vocalist, Kimiko, but not just for her unmatched vocals and being our smooth but never intrusive emcee. Kimiko stepped in as “event coordinator” and improvised AND executed a timeline change on the fly to save a near disaster caused by our planner. I WISH I had another chance to work with them—they are best!

contact and she was always super responsive and such a joy to work with! We met at the venue for a walkthrough several months before the wedding and, although space was limited for a 10-piece band, they were very accommodating and made it work. On the day of the wedding, Catherine arrived early to oversee the setup. There were multiple components to this event including a string quartet (appropriately named Classic Vybe) for the ceremony, a jazz trio for the cocktail reception and a 10-piece band for the dancing portion of the evening. Their setup was seamless! As for the musicians themselves, I have one word…amazing!!! Vybe has an extremely talented group of musicians. You know the band is exceptional when you have a packed dancefloor until the very last song!!! I cannot speak highly enough about my entire experience with the entire Vybe family of musicians. So when we got engaged, they were the very first vendor we contacted and booked. Catherine is their coordinator and she is so easy and friendly to work with. Even though we were spending less than the original deposit, Catherine and Tasche were completely accommodating and offered to refund us the difference. Such integrity! With all that said, the music was awesome! In this trying time for everyone, we could not have asked for a better experience with Classic Vybe and their sister dance band, Vybe Society! If you are uncertain about hiring vendors during this crazy time, do not worry about hiring them! We recommend them a million times over!
