We couldn't have had a more positive experience with Dance Reverie. Our instructor, Hanna, was phenomenal--she was knowledgable, friendly, and perhaps most importantly made us feel 100% comfortable with the process of learning our dance. Not being used to learning dance, it was not the easiest thing to jump into, but Hanna really guided us and helped us through each step with a lot of care. Six weeks before our wedding we decided we probably should take some lessons since we weren't making much progress on our own, and Hanna was able to get us from nothing to a full dance in 5 lessons. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much Hanna!!

This was one of the most memorable experiences of our wedding planning, hands down! I had originally brought up the idea of dance lessons for our first dance to my fiancée - who seemed non committal to the proposal. Then, almost exactly one month before our wedding, one of our mutual favorite songs ‘Jump Jive and Wail’ came on - he confessed to me, ‘you know, I’ve always wanted to learn how to swing dance.’ My ears perked up. Then the idea hit - why not learn a dance to our wedding song, which would lead into a swing dance to ‘pick up the mood’ - in 4 weeks? Crazy right? Well, once I got the fiancee’s buy in I started to do my research. lol and behold, a highly rated vendor (Dance Reverie) was located a mere 10 minutes from our house. With Kyle’s help, he set us up with Kari. At first when we proposed this crazy idea (given the time frame) I was optimistic yet skeptical - but Kari was the perfect teacher for us - patient yet fun and knowledgeable. We would practice in our pajamas at home. Once we began to ‘get’ the steps it became less work and more fun! Two weeks away Kari helped us with choreography. I enjoyed watching her wheels turn as she got creative with our dance moves. We were nervous about the dance a few days away, but when ‘show time’ came everything went off without a hitch - everyone was truly shocked at our dance. The shock factor alone made it worth it! We also felt like we had a new skill (aka swing dancing) which we would like to keep using and improving on in the days to come. Kari and Dance Reverie were amazing - highly recommended - you will not regret it!

Kyle is a great instructor! Great personality. My fiance and I always have a great time and have learned so much! I highly recommend taking classes. We looked forward to every lesson and learning our next moves. A MUST DO!

I never thought I would enjoy a dance class, but I was seriously wrong. Despite being skeptical, my fiance and I went into our first class (fully intending for it to be our last as well) and had a great time. We went back three more times, last time being the morning before our wedding. Our goal was for our first dance at our wedding to look ok, not anything amazing. Just didnt want to look like kids at jr. prom swaying back and forth... we got exactly what we came for. We had so much fun and it was worth every penny... and this is coming from someone who thought they would hate dance classes. Kyle made us feel comfortable and confident, and was also just really fun to talk to. I would recommend this to any couple, getting married or not.

Best Dance Studio ever! Kyle and Carrie are the best teachers! Originally we booked a class thru Groupon and were skeptical about classes because we thought we could probably learn from YouTube, but the fact is to really learn dancing, you need to take classes, and the way Kyle and his other teachers teaches will build a good foundation for all couples to ACTUALLY learn dancing, instead of trying to memorize choreography. My wife is a relatively good dancer but I never really danced before in my life. I remember my first few classes I felt like I had two left feet and I had no rhythm, but after the third class my muscles had adjusted and we were dancing on muscle memory. From there on it was easy to learn new moves and after learning Waltz in a few classes we decided to learn swing as well. Kyle and Carrie are really good teachers and they doesn't waste time talking during class and they often teach longer than we paid. We really appreciate everything that Kyle and his professional staff taught us and we really impressed and wowed everyone at our wedding. Everyone was asking us where we learned our moves. I have attended many other weddings before and none of the first dances look anything as good as how Dance Reverie teaches. It is such a wonderful experience learning from Dance Reverie and it makes me sad that I am only getting married once because I want to take more classes! I really recommend everyone go and try it out, you will not regret it! This is an experience newly weds will remember and use for the rest of their lives!

I just want to start this review by saying that deciding to take dance lessons for our first dance was one of those things that we’ll be glad we did for the rest of our lives. I convinced my then fiancé to try out a free class that Reverie studios offered, and I might say that since the first class we had a lot of fun. My fiancé was not into dance at all, but our teacher Kyle was able to make it fun and enjoyable every class. We progressed a little bit in each lesson, and Kyle was great in understanding what we were looking for and designing a “choreography” that was doable and fun, and beautiful! Even for a song (we danced to Led Zeppelin) that I didn’t think we could do anything else other than a silly prom dance. I kinda had some moves from my Brazilian culture and background, but my fiancé was really a stiff Irish beginner. However, Kyle was able to teach us how to pull off something amazing. We were so proud of ourselves, my now husband did an amazing job leading our first dance and we got wonderful compliments from everyone! A week after our wedding and I still can’t stop watching the videos... this will be something memorable for the rest of our lives!

Kyle is fantastic! My fiance and I love going to our dance lessons with him and are really looking forward to our first dance at the wedding. He is super knowledgeable and engaging, making each and every lesson fun! We highly recommend Kyle and dance reverie to other couples looking for dance lessons!

My now husband and I did Dance Reverie in Mineola and did a few sessions with Kyle weeks before our wedding. He kept everything professional and was amazing!!! I even did a couple of lessons for my dad for my wedding. I would recommend this place if you are looking to just make your first dance or any type of dance that much special. When my husband and I did our first dance at our wedding everything was cheering and surprised at our dance. Please check them out!!

Hanna was wonderful! She was so patient and caring as she taught us our dance. After 4 sessions (in their convenient Brooklyn location) we had a casual choreographed dance that impressed our guests without looking too stuffy. I highly recommend them!

When my fiance and I decided to take dance lessons to prepare for our first dance at the wedding, we walked into the studio and it was an impressive first impression. It was lovely, nicely decorated, and very clean. They offered us a FREE FULL 1 hour private lesson and we tried it. For a couple who did not much time and zero dance experience, it was the best stress-free time in our wedding planning. Kyle was our teacher and he was incredibly encouraging, creative, and very patient. He prepared every lesson particularly for our preferences in moves and dips, and we had a fun time. Kyle also put me in a WEDDING LONG SKIRT TO IMITATE A DRESS, so that my fiance got a full feeling how the dance will be at the day of our wedding. Now I feel like we have a beautiful first dance, accounting for the length of my dress, and the ability to get nice photos. We can also spend more time on the dance floor, which we planned to avoid at first. If you're panicking about your first dance or just wanted to learn how to dance, definitely come here!!!!

Can’t say enough good things about Kyle! He has made my fiancé and I into such great dancers. He has given my fiancé the confidence to want to dance because before he would NEVER ever dance. He is patient and makes it a carefree environment. I would recommend him ten times over for the quality and the amount of fun we have. We always look forward to going. Our families are going to love it!

Kyle is amazing!!!! Dance class has been one of our favorite parts of wedding planning and it honestly took away so much of the stress that goes into planning a wedding. Every week we look forward to our lessons and feel so confident for our first dance. My fiance and I definitely lack rhythm and Kyle has made it so fun for us. He choreographed a dance that looks natural and is very us (there's nothing I hate more than watching a couple do the box step at their wedding). I highly recommend using Kyle for lessons for you first dance or even if you just want to learn some new moves!

They offer a free first dance lesson which my wife and I tried out. We never took dance lessons in our lives and figured 1 free lesson wouldnt hurt. As you can tell by our rating it was FANTASTIC. Hannah was our teacher and she is a pleasure to be around. Shes very patient and helpful through every movement. Shes very supportive and made us feel like we really were dancers. Dance Reverie offers a free first dance lesson for couples. My fiancé and I decided to try Dance Reverie because we didn’t want to just sway back and forth on the dance floor for our first dance. We are SO happy with our decision! Hanna was the best! We couldn’t ask for a more patient and helpful teacher. We absolutely recommend anyone to try their free first lesson. Trust us-you’ll be back for more. We learned so much in just a few sessions.

I was thinking a lot about our first dance for my upcoming wedding when I came across Dance Reverie. I took it as a sign and decided to sign up for a lesson. It was literally the BEST decision ever. Kyle, our instructor, is just AMAZING! He is funny, patient and kind. He never makes you feel bad if you mess up or forget something. Nothing he has shown us is complicated. I’m not a stranger to taking dance, but my fiancé has never done it before and he enjoys it! These lessons give my fiancé and I something to look forward too and helps us take our minds off of the craziness of wedding planning. If you are thinking about lessons, do it. I can’t wait for everyone to see our first dance at our wedding!

Kyle is number 1! We tried another studio before him but it wasn’t even close to Kyle’s teaching style. We took about 10 lessons over two months time and completely nailed our wedding dance. Thank you for all your patience and awesome moves!!! Shawn and Michelle.

If you're looking for a dance studio to teach you a creative, beautiful, and easy dance for your wedding, special event, or anything really, Dance Reverie is where to go! My fiancee and I wanted to bring a unique flair to our wedding and assumed that our complete lack of skill and rhythm marked us doomed... Kyle (the owner) not only taught us one, but TWO incredible dances. I love that he gave us the dance moves (rather than boring overused coregraphy) which gave us the comfort level and confidence we needed to rock our dances. He was super patient (even when I was yelling at my fiance for being too up tight haha) but also efficient. Lastly, he was so dedicated, he was willing to work until 11pm just to make sure couples were really ready and got in as many lessons as they wanted. DEFINATELY CHOOSE DANCE REVERIE FOR YOUR DANCE LESSON NEEDS!!

Took private lessons with the help of Kari who was the best. She always took into consideration what we were comfortable with, came up with an awesome choreographed dance for our song on the fly, and was so patient with us. At first we wanted just to make sure we didn't look like complete idiots with two left feet during our first dance, but she was able to elevate it to so much more than that and show us that we could dance more than we thought. Every lesson was so much fun and I miss them! I highly recommend using them to help you with your first dance :)

My fiancé and I came into Dance Reverie pretty clueless of how to properly dance.. Kyle, our dance instructor prepared us for our first dance at our wedding..He more than exceeded our expectations. He’s patient, kind and nonjudgmental. He was flexible with us and went at our pace of learning. Kyle is a skilled instructor who totally prepared us for our wedding in a fun and lighthearted way. He comes highly recommended by us... I always looked forward to our next lesson with him and always left the lesson with energy and enthusiasm.

Kyle was truly amazing! With only 1 week before our wedding he was able to schedule us in and helped us so much! We thought we would be ok without lessons but wow are we glad we decided to get some lessons and that Kyle was our instructor. Everyone complimented our dance and were so amazed at how well we did. Great Experience with Kyle! We have worked with Kyle in preparing for our wedding first dance. He is a very friendly and humorous instructor with a lot of patience. He would encourage you and ensure you are ready for the event. In addition, he would add little bonus lessons for casual party dances.

Thank goodness we didn’t decide to just sway for our first dance and opted to take some classes. About a month before our wedding we decided to look into lessons. We read great reviews for Dance Reverie and so we figured we try the first lesson for free just to see if we would like it or not. After the first lesson, we were sold, we wanted Hanna to help us with choreographing our first dance. She is very patient and super easy to work with. We felt confident after a few lessons but wanted to take additional lessons to perfect our routine. We highly recommend Hanna!

Kyle is great! We were clumsy fools and he has been unbelievably patient. Going to our wedding dance lessons has been the best part of planning my wedding, well next to my dress! My fiancé also loves going there. Start early! Don’t wait until the last minute !!

Kyle is the best!!!! Start your lessons 1 year before you get married!!! Or ASAP!!!! Dance class became a fun date night for us. Your first dance is a special moment that I wanted to be meaningful and spectacular!! Everyone was so impressed with our dance but more importantly, it made me feel really good that as a couple we were able to pull off this incredible dance together. It created a very romantic fun vibe that lasted throughout the night. Full disclosure - before I took dance classes I literally hated dancing. I always felt very awkward. Kyle is an incredible Teacher and is very patient. I very quickly started to love going to dance class!!! Kyle can teach anyone and I had 0 experience. Kyle really knows how to make the classes fun. I love dancing now. My husband and I will be continuing dance classes for many years to come.

Hanna is AMAZING. Oh my goodness, what a fun time we had - our dance makes me feel like this will be my favorite part of our big day :) We enjoyed ourselves so much that we ended up buying 10 lessons (initially started with 6 pack). I would definitely recommend!

We did 6 weeks of lessons with Hannah in Dumbo and she was wonderful. She was patient and a great teacher, and everyone at our wedding was gushing over how much they loved our dance!! We highly recommend Dance Reverie, and Hannah is a fantastic teacher and so pleasant to work with :).

This place was wonderful. Kyle could not have been kinder or more patient with my fiancé and me. In five lessons we managed to put together a perfect first dance for our wedding. We are so grateful for the time and lessons we had here.

I was recommended to Kyle at dance reverie by someone at work and I hadn’t thought much about dance lessons. I just knew that we had zero moves and would probably waddle back and fourth like 2 middle schoolers. We are so grateful to have found Kyle, as our dance was the highlight of our wedding and it’s still being raved about! Kyle is laid back and professional. Even though he is a busy guy, you could never tell from his scheduling accommodations. We were able to fit in 6 lessons in a short time, taking 1-2 lessons per week. This large studio is elegant with hard wood floors and mirrored walls. Kyle makes you feel very comfortable. The price per lesson is very reasonable. When considering all the less memorable things we shell out for, during wedding planning, the small expense is worth it. We also saw it as a way to spend time together. Kyle teaches you dance basics that look much harder than they are. The dance is not choreographed, rather he teaches you how to dance, so you have moves, if it doesn’t go just as planned! We look forward to keeping our new moves for our honeymoon and future events! I have been telling everyone, that dance lessons are a must!!

Hannah is a fantastic dance teacher!!! My Fiance and I have never learned any kind of dance before and she helped us to learn the waltz quickly and efficiently. Hannah also helped us incorporate all the moves that we wanted. We are excited for our wedding day!

Kari is very knowledgeable, and a great instructor. She worked around the song we chose and helped us create dance moves based on the peak moments of the song. She communicates well and worked with us on an individual basis until we understood the techniques. Would highly recommend!

Phenomenal is an understatement when it comes to Kyle & Dance Reverie. Last minute my now husband asked to take Dance lessons for our first dance. We were recommended by a friend to give Kyle a call, all honesty I was somewhat against it. I thought it would be a waste of time and money especially being 2 weeks before our wedding. After the first lesson there was no way we were walking away that easy, within just short of 2 weeks we were able fit 6 lessons in and they were all 100% worth it. Kyle was amazing, he was easy to work with, he’s an awesome teacher and just and all around a great guy. The typical wedding stress being 2 weeks out was completely taking over, but Kyle kept it fun and relaxed you don't realize you’re doing something for the wedding. He got down and dirty with us made us feel so comfortable, my husband who is basically trained to be stiff and doesn't exactly know how to move never left the dance floor the night of our wedding. After our first Dance all his friends could not believe their eyes, as we like to say, Kyle got a fridge to move... Kyle was a huge part of making our wedding night perfect.

Let me start by saying that Kyle is nothing short of amazing. Last minute, my now husband and I decided that we wanted to take a few dance lessons before the big day for our first dance. Kyle scheduled us for the week of, without hesitation. He is extremely professional, kept things light, and had us laughing during each lesson. He’s knowledgeable and really made things easy for us. Kari was our dance instructor for about 6 months leading up to our wedding-- she was so accommodating of our schedules, and helped us with picking a song and style of dance that was unique but doable for beginners. She walked us through choreography, personalizing it to our needs/abilities, considering my dress, etc. In the end, we had a great little swing number to a Beach Boys song, and everyone LOVED it. I don't think there are enough words to describe how amazing Kyle is as a dance instructor. My wife, Julie, and I first started taking lessons with Kyle shortly after Thanksgiving 2018. We took a total of 8 lessons between that time and our wedding on 1/27/19. Prior to these lessons, I had zero dancing experience and was expecting to do nothing more than awkwardly sway back and forth on the dance floor for about 30 seconds. In only these 8 lessons, and with minimal to no additional practicing, we were able to complete a 4 and a half minute choreographed dance with lifts and dips. All of our guests were wow'ed beyond belief and have been talking about it non-stop since the wedding. The lessons were fun, relaxed, and rewarding. They were, without a doubt, the best use of time and money that we spent on the wedding/preparation. Our first dance was a moment that I will forever look on with pride and happiness, and it would not have been possible without Kyle's help. He even came to the venue on the day of the wedding to do a final run through with us right before we did it for real! To all couples looking for an amazing dance instructor for an incredible first dance: look no further, you can't do better than Kyle. Additional comments: We took our lessons at the Dance Reviere location in Mineola. There is convenient street parking and a parking lot in the back of the studio. The studio is approximately a 4 minute drive (~20 minute walk) from the Mineola LIRR Station.

If you want to WOW your guests at your wedding call Kyle! Dance lessons with Kyle were one of the most fun parts about planning our wedding! Each week going to his studio we were able to forget about rsvp lists and seating charts, we just had fun learning new moves for our first dance! Kyle made it simple and easy for us to learn (what looks like) complicated dance steps and explained each step so we knew the reasoning behind it. Neither of us are dancers, Kyle took extra time and effort making sure we were comfortable with every move and we absolutely nailed our first dance! Lifts, spins, rolls, swing and the waltz; we did it all! Our guests were so blown away by our first dance they still talking about it! We still plan to go back for date nights just for fun!

Kyle is FANTASTIC! My husband and I worked with Kyle for 4 months before our wedding to make sure we didn’t embarass ourselves with our first dance. Not only did we not embarass ourselves, but more than 2 months later people are still exclaming how amazing and beautiful our dance was. Kyle is super talented, incredibly patient and so accommodating! Any bride-to-be knows that the weeks (and months) leading up to the wedding are super hectic— Kyle worked with us and our schedules to make sure we felt like we had enough time to rehearse and practice before the wedding. We were so pleased with our experience and could not recommend Kyle and Dance Reverie more highly!!!

Absolutely amazing dancer and made everything seem so natural. Kyle was so patient and accommodating with everything we needed. From the first lesson to just before our wedding Kyle was able to teach us advanced moves that I will be able to use the rest of my life. Kyle was even able to mix 2 songs together to make an absolutely perfect first dance song, something that even our DJ wasnt able to do. Thank you Kyle for everything and making our wedding absolutely perfect.

My fiance (now husband) and I used Dance Reverie to teach us to dance for our first dance at our wedding. We had picked a song and Kyle told us that the best dance for it was the foxtrot. He patiently taught us the basic steps for the foxtrot, as well as some nice turns and other fancy steps so that we looked like we knew what we were doing! Kyle was great-- put both me and my husband at ease, made us laugh, and made the whole dance class experience great. I would definitely be interested in going back and taking some lessons just for fun. I would 1000% recommend Kyle to anyone looking to learn a special dance!

An amazing dance studio, with great instructors! My friend recommended Dance Reverie for dance classes for our wedding. We purchased a groupon and took a few group classes and one private class - and since then had purchased a 10 private classes. Firstly the price is very fair. The teachers are extremely professionals so you can feel very comfortable working with them. We have trained with different instructors and they are all amazing, patient and have taught us a great moves. We have another 3-4 classes and our dance already is coming along great. Not only are we learning how to move but we are also having an amazing time. I would highly recommend it!

We took lessons with Kari at Dance Reverie, and at first I was really nervous - neither my husband nor I are dancers. It turned out to be, quite literally, the best experience of the entire wedding prep and I'm so, so happy we chose to take lessons with Kari. She is incredibly helpful and encouraging. Even when you trip of each other's feet she makes you feel like you're a world class dancer. I wouldn't have felt nearly as comfortable during my first dance if it weren't for all her coaching and encouragement. I'm almost sad we don't have another special event coming up where we need dance lessons.

We took private dance classes at Dance Reverie. The instructors were simply amazing. In just eight classes, we went from two people who have never formally danced to having a choreographed dance and being comfortable enough on the dance floor to improvise if things didn't go according to plan. Not only did we get tons of compliments on our wedding dance, but the techniques they taught us worked so well that when we went to other events after our wedding people have us room on the dance floor just to watch us dance. I can't believe it has taken me this long to write this review. We found Kari and Dance Reverie in the last 2 months leading up to our wedding knowing we both had limited dance experience and were nervous for our first dance. Kari was awesome in listening to what we wanted and tailoring a beautiful first dance for us that wasn't too complicated but gave us more then swaying. An added bonus working with her was such a fun time to relax and be together leading up to our wedding. I would highly recommend everyone to check out this place, the first lesson is free after all and you can't go wrong!
