We used Deejay Howard for our October wedding, after hearing him deejay a couple of events for our parish. In planning for the wedding, Howard was easy to work with and he made it clear that he believes weddings are classy events and that a bad... music choice can really mess up a reception (i.e. playing popular songs about breakups, unfaithfulness, etc). We were in good hands. My husband and I wanted a lot of oldies, Motown, and big band music. Howard really delivered! He did not play a single song we did not want to hear, and even asked us about one song he was unsure of, before he played it. Even when some of our persistent guests made requests from our (extensive) no-play list, he did not play those songs. We were so pleased with the musical selections, and he really has an extensive music library.
On the day of the wedding, our venue had a couple of technical problems, and Howard coped with these very well. He did not miss a beat. His style of announcing was classy, and he took extra care to pronounce every name perfectly. Sometimes you hear a deejay making announcements like you're at a sporting event, but Howard kept it classy.
The one criticism I had was that Howard asked a fair number of last-minute questions while we were finishing our photographs, and I had answered these via email previously. I also felt he relied on me too much for the flow during the actual reception. I would have greatly preferred if he would have asked our catering director his questions. He also asked me for "gas money" at the end of the reception because we gave him our final check the day of, instead of beforehand, which I thought was weird. What bride keeps $20 on her during her wedding reception?
Aside from those details, which none of our guests noticed, we were very happy with Deejay Howard.
