d we liked that it was tucked away, like a little tropical oasis with the perfectly manicured golf course, palm tree lined street, and roaming peacocks (I was even able to get some into the wedding photos!). The forecast was for rain that day, but the backup plan for the cocktail hour still looked beautiful and it worked out well. More than anything, THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! That is the main compliment we got from our guests. We chose to use the buffet option, and several of them went back for seconds. They were so accommodating and sweet to us and our guests, I would definitely recommend!

From booking the venue, to planning the party, to coordinating with the vendors and even providing fun suggestions for the reception, Kathleen made the process seamless. Although the website lists Kathleen as the “Director of Catering,” Kathleen made us feel like we had a private wedding planner – a role which she certainly did not have to take-on, but did so because she really enjoys her job (which is obvious from the first time you meet her) and takes it seriously. Deering Bay: Whatever you are paying Kathleen, you need to triple it! Your venue is beautiful and your food is great, but the true value in having a wedding at Deering Bay lies in getting to work with someone as professional and organized as Kathleen Phang. She is truly a wonder-woman!

My husband and I felt like king and queen and our guests felt like royalty. The entire property served as a beautiful backdrop for pictures and is the epitome of Miami landscape and beauty. I could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding and more intimate experience. I recommend this location to everyone and my family and friends still rave about their experience. unpredictable weather, the rain came down. This didn't put a damper on the event. The Deering staff didn't skip a beat. They moved the ceremony in to an inside location. They blew me away with how great they made it look. My husband and I were so glad they moved it in. We wouldn't have had it any other way. I would highly recommend Deering Bay for any large event or wedding!

e the best idea of how things should run and look. Kathleen was at all those meetings and took notes on everything. I could not have been more happy with the results the day of. Everything looked beautiful and just as I had imagined it. Gorgeous, palm tree lined entrance into the location, where my husband and I took some of our favorite photos and then rode a small golf cart for other photos throughout the property. The actual ceremony took place outdoors, just before sunset, with trees, ocean and sailboats off in the distance in the background. The reception hall was a great and beautiful balance between elegant (the interior setting) and chic (the canopy setting decorated with soft fabrics and small lights). Highly recommend this location and wedding planner! Especially since it may still be one of the lesser known and more unique venues in Miami! Won't be disappointed!

One of the things I loved most about the venue and staff is how everything was already so lovely and taken care of- for example, I had no need to rent chairs as the ones they have are gorgeous gold backed chairs (for the ceremony). Same thing with linens and silverware- ivory and cream, which is classic and beautiful. We had roughly 100 guests at the wedding, and the staff did a great job at making our numbers fit the venue- so it did not feel cramped or too spaced out. The food is delicious, and I wish I had been at cocktail hour to sample the appetizers, but I heard rave reviews! Dinner was excellent (as all dinners I have had at DBYCC). I went with a buffet option, because I am not a huge fan of myself and others being told when to sit down, when to eat, etc, and it was beautifully done. I loved that the dinner options came with desserts as well! I shopped out several venues when deciding, and looked at several "standard" miami venues- the Biltmore, the Collonade, the Four Seasons- and I felt Deering Bay was able to offer us a gorgeous, intimate venue which had the best value. I also felt that my experience working with Kathleen, the events coordinator, felt like having my own built in wedding planner that I did not have to hire for additional cost. She is so sweet and caring, and on top of all aspects of the event! She coordinated with all my chosen vendors to make sure everything was delivered/set up appropriately (cake, dj, photo booth) and was there the day of and made sure all the timelines went perfectly! Overall I could not have asked for a better day, and importantly for me, I felt that my money was well spent!
