All and all our experience with the company was so/so. Whether or not this company is for you will depend on what you’re looking for. Here are my pros and cons.
Pros: The cost was reasonable. The company was relatively communicative before the wedding. The professionals were nice. You can get a DJ, photographer, and videographer from the dance company.
Cons: The DJ started the wedding late which caused dinner to be late, so all of the steaks were overbooked. The DJ played the beginnings of the introduction songs instead of the climax, so it was very awkward. The photographer placed a lot of focus on my husbands niece and nephew and ignored mine. This may seem minor, but there were only three kids at the wedding. It felt as though there may have been implicit racial bias. I sent an email about my concern, but it was ignored. My final con is that there are so many professionals, and no way to know what the work you get will look like ahead of time.

late, In fact, was early, waiting on you. The transition from the top floor (15th floor) cocktail area was slow because everyone had to go down the elevator. That is what caused the dinner to be late. Dan was on your time line the whole time.
He played different parts of each song for the intros. Some of the songs requested wanted the beginning and some were chorus, depending on your instructions.
We are terribly sorry you felt there was too much focus on the kids at your wedding. We supply many more images than most, and left them in there, since we did not know how important they may be to you, allowing you to get prints of the ones that you liked. We do not like making that decision for the couple.
We have 7 DJ's and 6 Photographers which we match up according to your questionnaire. I hope this makes sense.

From the time we first found Direct Entertainment, we knew. We hired them for our DJ, Video and Photographer and we are glad we did! All were just so amazing going above and beyond what we asked for. Everything was laid out with their planners about a month before so we knew exactly what was coming. The day of, Our Dj was so super and rolling with some last-minute charges from the venue. The Photographer and Video guy worked well together and the video and photos are just incredible. We will be sure to recommend you to our friends.

I was recently married in June 2020 and unfortunately you get what you pay for in this scenario.
Pros: I did a bundle with the videography, photography, and dj. The owner and main contact is Jim and he is amazing! He is very responsive and personable. Unfortunately, he hired outside vendors who work in the area of where my wedding was. I spoke with all three the week before my wedding and each seemed to have lots of experience doing weddings.
Cons:
Photographer- On the day of our wedding, he did not follow our timeline and several times I had to search for him. To make a long winded post short I'll highlight my biggest disappointments.
1. We did not take our couple photos until after all the dances towards the end of the night (they were scheduled before the ceremony and needless to say we look hot and sweaty in our bride and groom photos)
2. Did not pay attention to detail and honestly, the photos did not look professional. It was a very windy day but instead of setting up our memory table pics for his photo he just took a picture of them laying flat on the table. Our ring photos are terrible (rings literally set on a table and picture taken from above. )
3. Did not direct people where to look. Focused more on candid, which I did not want. I wanted classic posed portraits.
4. Poor decisions on locations for picture taking and lighting- Lots of shadows in the pictures, things in the background you wouldn't want (example: cigarette can behind wedding party photos and dead, empty garden beds). I truly wish I could share the pictures so you could see. Also, an EZ up pole is in every single picture where when he shot the entrance to the reception.
Overall, just poor quality, lack of creativity, and carelessness.
Videography- Cons The guy was weird, in your face and made myself and many guests uncomfortable. Pros-The video did turn out nice and he definitely went above what he was paid for. He used a drone and stayed longer than what was paid for. Quality was there but had a very unique personality.
DJ- Pros- Honestly I think the music portion was good but I didn't pay too much attention. The mic during the ceremony was placed on the groom and officiant which was a big plus because it was so windy. Cons- The handheld mic during the speeches was terrible! It kept screeching and the best man did his speech without it because they couldn't figure it out. I was upset with the dj because their cords were strung across and piled up (I know it sounds petty but it's in all the dance area photos). He also shot out confetti (which was cool in the moment) but not so fun to clean up the next day (there was a no confetti rule at the venue and he didn't ask). Also, the timing of the music was terrible and did I mention that he was "old school" and used CD's to DJ? We had also talked about a live performance happening and there were major delays and issues involving this. The two guys sat behind the table the entire night, was not always professional (announcements and the end of the night asked for beer to go).
Final note: Jim was awesome. His crew was not. I didn't complain because their was nothing Jim could do to make our wedding any different. I know Direct Entertainment serves all over the U.S. so I'm sure it's just what vendors he chooses in your area. Hind sight is 20/20. I can't be mad because I got what I paid for.

three have been with us for 14, 12, and 4 years respectively. Before I reply, I would like to say I'm sorry you feel this way 4 months after your wedding. I and the others feel absolutely blindsided by this review, especially after receiving tips from both your husband for $50 and $40 from your Stepmother after your wedding!
Your timeline was followed to a tee and 327 edited photos were delevered to you that were taken PRIOR to your ceremony along with another 100's more AFTER your ceremony. Not hot and sweaty at all- Please go back and take a look at your Album. You guys look amazing. Your other comments are false about the Photography. See for yourself. We have shared per your request. Video- Drone provided free and per your words, video was amazing, so way the 1 star?
DJ- The mic had interference where the DJ was placed, even when it was ok during the soundcheck, so my apologies. The confetti was an add on- but I can see your complant, so my apologies as well. He did not use CD's, and was offered the beer at the end of the 13 hour day, and accepted. Just so confused by your one star, but glad you were able to express your opinion. I have brought the concerns for the DJ to him . We wish you the very best.

I hired Direct Entertainment as my videographer for my wedding. The planning of what I wanted in the video was very thought out in their required online video scenelist. This was convenient in that I did not have to worry about calling someone and relying on them to take notes on who I wanted in the video and what parts. It was also nice in giving me an insight on what to film so I know what to expect in the final video. Because they have planning forms online, I felt it took away from the in-person communication because they had everything they needed from me online. This might actually be an awesome thing for some brides since you don't have to worry about contacting someone, but I felt I didn't get a chance to really connect with the videographer. The day of my wedding, the videographer was right out front filming as soon as my limo arrived. During the ceremony and reception, he was in many different locations throughout the night and was always nearby during the important events on the schedule. Overall Direct Entertainment did a great job being in the right spots at the right time and I am very excited to see the finished product as I am sure it will be everything I envisioned!

The only issue we had was communication via email and phone. We asked that the groom was made primary contact and were told they would fix that but then they never knew who they were talking to when he tried contacting them. They lost our contracts and told us a month before our wedding that we needed to return them. They found them shortly afterwards though. I feel planning would've gone smoother and less stressful if we were able to communicate directly with our dj and videographer sooner. DJ and videographer were awesome! They changed things even a couple days before our wedding!

We would have been better off renting equipment and playing the music ourselves and I really wish we would've done just that. To start, we literally had 10 hours of music that we picked out and had ready for the dj. We had a very small wedding party and not very many scheduled dances. Our ceremony and reception took place at the same location as well. So this seemed like a pretty easy job in my opinion. The DJ didn't arrive until 5:30 and our ceremony started at 6. And this was after I attempted to call him 3 times after noticing that there was nothing set up for our ceremony... There were already people sitting down before the music started which just so happened to be playing out of a tiny fender amp that the dj brought with him considering there was nothing set up prior to his arrival for our ceremony (apparently the equipment was underneath the dj table that was set up in our reception tent the whole time. I would assume it would take a phone call to the coworker who set up the half of the equipment to figure that one out but I guess not?) During our ceremony the amp being used was crackling of course because the mic was 5 feet away from the thing. Which reminds me, they didn't bring the wireless mic that we paid for as well as a mic stand. Instead the dj had to stop and grab the amp and a wired mic (there was never a mic stand to begin with.) So, after the ceremony I didn't think anything else would go wrong because the dj set up was ready for our reception and the dj had all of our music. Well, he played the wrong song for the mother son dance and continued to take song requests all throughout the night although we specifically told him not to because we had plenty of our own music we wanted played and already had picked out. I'm probably forgetting some other details but obviously that's quite enough for me to say do not use Direct Entertainment if you feel that music is important to your wedding. If I could go back we would have done this ourselves for a much cheaper price.

w is way out of content and not true at all about your reception as your dance floor was packed ALL night. The Mother son song was the one played on the list provided and the DJ was not updated with another song. We had since compensated you $300 for good faith on our part and feel that since you were trying to get more than this, you posted this erroneous review, but you are entitled to your opinion. We used Direct Entertainment for our DJ, Photography, and Video services. They were Wonderful! It was so nice to coordinate through one person, and our DJ, Bob, was fantastic with the guests and the sound for our outdoor wedding. Our Photog/Videographer was Perry Taylor and he was so easy to work with and stayed so late and just kept looking for the best shots! We had a great experience with Direct Entertainment!

Our DJ service was absolutely outstanding. He met us at the door of the wedding venue as we exited the limo. We discussed a quick entrance and he gave us a quick rundown of the night. Our DJ was extremely polite and made us feel like number 1 on our special day. We would highly recommend this company for DJ services. We also used this company for our videographer service. He did an amazing job cooperating with the photographer. He hardly noticed he was even there. Highly recommended also!!!!!

Our DJ, Bob, was great! He was in contact with me prior to the wedding about our special songs, was on time and responded well with our guests and requests. The only thing that was not perfect, which was a miscommunication, was that the wrong song was played during the mother/groom dance. No one noticed except myself and the groom's mother. Everything else was perfect!

Direct Entertainment was great with helping us with our DJ and videography. We filled out the required forms with all the info they needed, and they were in contact with me in the couple weeks prior to the wedding to make sure all was good. Since I review music, I wanted to do the playlists for the wedding all myself. There was no problem with this, and I mailed the discs to the DJ and he happily obliged. The only thing was that the last song for our ceremony was wrong. Also, we had a few moments of confusion during the reception (beginning) because of the speeches, etc. and felt we needed to be guided a little bit more as to what was going on and what needed to be done, etc. Other than that, everything was great and both the DJ and videographer were very nice, accomodating, and professional.

We are so, so happy with Direct Entertainment. We located them on The Knot originally, and were so easy to get into contact with. The lady we spoke with via email was great at emailing back usually within 24 hours. They offered discounts, as well, which was enticing. Their DJ service is one like I have never seen or heard of before. We were able to create our own custom playlist for the wedding, so nothing was played that we didn't want played! Our DJ, John, was awesome and stuck to that playlist. We were able to tell him to not accept requests, and he did just that. He was flexible and wasn't afraid to approach us throughout the evening. The crowd involvement/interaction was perfect as well, just the amount we wanted. He was fun and had good ideas. He was on time and set up well before the reception started...none of that nonsense like other DJ's setting up as guests are coming in. They were totally awesome, their website is amazing, and I would recommend Direct Entertainment to everyone!

We used direct entertainment for our wedding and our DJ Charles did an amazing job!! After announcing the wedding party he got drinks for me and my groom. He played all the songs on our playlist and added some other good ones along with it. He even had us start a Congo line around our whole reception venue!

My husband and I used Direct Entertainment for our videography services for our wedding. They made everything so easy from paying online, to quick response e-mail communication. This was essential to my wedding planning as I was planning an out-of-state wedding. Richard was an amazing person and videographer on our wedding day! He was so professional and personable. We also forgot at times he was even there, but know he captured every moment of our special day. We received so many complements from our guests about how nice Richard was. This bride highly recommends Direct Entertainment for Videography! :)

Everything was perfect. We hired Direct Entertainment for our Photo, Video and DJ. Everything was perfect. The Photographer and Video guy were great staying out of the way. We thought this would affect our pictures, but when we received them back, we had no idea he was even taking pictures, so alot of candids as we requested. The video was top notch as well. Great quality and everything we requested and more was included. The DJ was amazing. He was professional and classy as Direct Ent. indicated. He listened to us and made some suggestions as well, which we liked as it was our first wedding. The end result was a packed dance floor and us and my guests having the time of our lives! We owe it to Direct Entertainment and would highly recommend to anyone! ...

We had both DJ and videographer services from here. The videographer was amazing and did an excellent job! The DJ did well for the most part, though he did mess up the bridal party introductions. Other than that, everything was perfect.

I found them on the internet and they were offering and early bird special in Feburary. Save a hundred dollars. I met with the Ron the DJ, about 3 weeks before the wedding and meant to follow up days before the wedding, but it was Ron calling me to make sure everthing was still on. He played a wide selection of R&B and current pop songs, and took requests. Ron also coordinated with the Wait staff and photographer, to see what the timeline was and important moments were photgraphed. Went up and beyond what I image his job responsibilties were.
