DJ Darla made our wedding day so wonderful! We’ve received so many compliments about how fun she made our reception (she even provided glow sticks for our guests to dance around with!). The prep process was great too - every conversation we had leading up to the big day was so fun and personal. Darla really wanted to get to know us as a couple before offering insight and song suggestions. We cannot recommend her more highly!

Darla DJ’d our wedding and she exceeded any and all expectations. We thought we would have a hard time getting and keeping people on the dance floor but Darla did an amazing job and everyone danced all night. She also MC’d very clearly and everyone knew exactly what they were supposed to be doing throughout the night which we have seen be an issue in other people’s weddings that we have attended

Gosh I don’t even know where to begin but Darla is the BEST DJ/MC and if you’re reading this, you MUST book her. We booked her for our summer wedding and had such a blast!!!! Everyone’s feet were hurting from dancing the next day and we still get so many compliments on how amazing our wedding DJ was. Darla went above and beyond for us from working with our budget, providing amazing insight into our venues and music playlists, helping with our timeline, and making sure our wedding reception was a blast!!!! Finding a good DJ is the hardest wedding planning task out there -- I mean, how do you really know if a DJ is good without actually attending one of their events? In Darla's case I can say that the immaculate reviews are spot on. We are so grateful to Darla for making our wedding a dance floor triumph! From “Britney to Whitney” (to use one of her expressions), she kept us all rocking to the very end! Throughout the night, we especially enjoyed watching which songs slayed with the crowd…belting out to “Mamma Mia!,” “It’s Raining Men,” and “Man, I Feel Like a Woman!” with 150 of our closest friends and family is an experience we will never forget. Darla was spot on with song choice and timing, and our guests (mostly Gen Xers and Millenials, with some Gen Z and Boomers mixed in) are still raving about how much fun they had on the dance floor. On top of it all, Darla Bea is a joy to work with! She was super responsive, incorporated our ideas & song wish list seamlessly, and was always down to swap hilarious stories of wedding faux pas. If you're getting married in Santa Barbara area, you want Darla Bea as your DJ!

DJ Darla is the best of the best! A talented MC and fantastic DJ who knows how to keep the party going! We knew from our first phone call that Darla was a perfect fit. Chatting with her about music and our shared love of Madonna Inn (our venue) was not only fun but inspiring for our wedding. She worked with us to ensure that our favorite artists and tracks were represented, while adding in great songs and transitions to make it all flow effortlessly. After my dad surprised us with a speech about my childhood love of Willy Wonka, she faded in "Pure Imagination" without missing a beat - she's a master! She also set up her equipment so quickly and efficiently in both our ceremony and reception spaces. Madonna Inn famously provides very little prep time for vendors, and Darla managed it with finesse. She had a mic ready for our officiant, vows, and reception speeches. My dad and I have MC experience and are very picky about who runs events - Darla was such a pro that we both adored! She's a natural on the mic without being a showboat and kept our speeches, dances, cake cutting, etc moving flawlessly. Our Event Coordinator seemed delighted with her!

Darla DJ'd our wedding in Santa Barbara. She was the best vendor out of all the vendors we hired. She was very easy to work with and had many great suggestions for our wedding day. Darla took the time to get to know us and was extremely personable. We had multiple phone conversations in order to make sure our day went smoothly. Out of all our vendors Darla actually cared for our day. I definitely recommend doing her signature glow stick tunnel. It was a last minute decision and one of our favorite parts of our wedding.

I can't recommend DJ Darla enough! We had a blast working with her and she just brought the perfect energy to our wedding weekend. We hired her for all three days and have no regrets at all. For several events we gave her a ton of playlists to curate from and she did a masterful job tapping into the vibe we were looking for and making sure our must-plays were integrated perfectly. Darla gets bonus points for 1) helping me plan a surprise drag performance during our wedding brunch and 2) stepping up when our wedding planner ghosted us a few weeks before the wedding and just being helpful and communicative to make sure everything went perfectly. Darla was the absolute best DJ. We almost didn’t get to have her at our wedding due to Covid postponement but she was able to come back to us last minute and our wedding would have not been as memorable without her. She truly takes the time to get to know you, make you feel special and make sure that your wedding has the vibe YOU want. Hire her. I am not the easiest client and I even made changes right up until the day before my wedding. She didn’t miss a beat. My day of wedding coordinator was terrible and did not communicate with my vendors so Darla and my Photogragher worked together to make my day flow. DJ Darla did such an amazing job, from the early consultations to the wedding day itself. Her presence was so calm amidst the chaos of the event and she really brought the best energy and helped guide and pace the whole night. She also did a wonderful job working with my special musical guest. Darla Bea DJ'd my daughter's wedding in Santa Barbara on 10/2/21. What a blast. She was absolutely professional, got the party started effortlessly, and had guests of all ages on the dance floor throughout the night. My daughter had requested a Bollywood style song she and her friends had performed a choreographed dance to at an Indian wedding years ago. Darla played it and added an encore of other like music. I highly recommend Darla Bea for her experience, vast knowkedge of musical styles, and the enthusiasm, fun (and glo sticks) she brings. Darla is consistently voted best Santa Barbara area DJ in every poll. It isn't hard to figure out why! She's simply the best!

DJ Darla Bea absolutely killed it DJing my wedding, and it wouldn’t have been the same without her. First of all, she let us put together a curated playlist with as many directions as we wanted. This included my adding several hours worth of Persian and Kurdish songs for my Persian family to dance to. Despite not being familiar with those songs, Darla learned all about them and perfectly executed the best wedding any of our guests had been to in years. Of course, Darla, being the wonderful human being she is, would totally try to give me the credit for that success because of my song choices, but without her it would have just been a playlist. She took my raw materials and brought it all to life. She schemed with me (and with my mom) to create some truly memorable moments, she was flexible with on the fly adjustments, and she kept the volume at a perfect level so our guests could also talk. Most of all, Darla utilized her impeccable taste and judgment to give our wedding the absolute best soundtrack. She scripted all the changes and moments perfectly, and added the perfect amount of emceeing to make everything—the dancing, the entrances, the interstitial moments—go exactly how I had hoped it would. My wife and I are eternally grateful to Darla for helping our wedding be a once-in-a-lifetime party, and we cannot speak highly enough of the job she did. With any luck, we’ll get to work with Darla again soon. I know she is going to be my go to DJ for as long as she's doing this kind of thing, and I wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone and everyone who needs an event DJ at any point. Darla is the best!

DJ Darla Bea blew my expectations out of the water. Our wedding was supposed to be in 2020, but after postponing a year to 2021 she did not skip a beat. Darla Bea made sure to keep in touch and helped us through the re-planning of our wedding. Fast forward to the wedding day. Beyond being on time and prepared, Darla Bea handled everything on the big day perfectly. Our vendors were happy to work with her and our guests couldn't stop commenting on how great the DJ was. Darla Bea is simply amazing. She was one of the first vendors we hired when we were originally planning a 150 person wedding at a large venue in Santa Barbara. From the start, Darla was helpful, responsive, and easy to work with. With the pandemic, we had to cancel most of our plans a few months before the wedding date and chose to instead host a small wedding with immediate family in a family member's backyard. Darla helped convince us that we could still have beautiful music at our 12-person wedding, and made herself available to visit our new venue, work with us on an updated playlist, and answer any questions that came up while we scrambled to plan a safe event. At our wedding, Darla did a fantastic job as MC and DJ, guiding our guests throughout the evening, playing all of the songs we requested, and remembering all of the details we had discussed. She also helped us capture some wonderful pictures with sparklers and made it feel like a true wedding. Even with our small casual wedding, Darla held herself to high standards, and managed to do all of this during a heat wave. We can't wait to throw an anniversary party in the future to celebrate our marriage with all of our guests, and Darla will be the first vendor we call!

The only thing I can say about DJ Darla Bea is PERFECTION! I had seen her ads several times, but I was so scared that we wouldn't be able to afford her. After calling a few other DJs, I finally gave in and called her. I'm so glad I did! Within a few minutes, we discovered we shared one of our all-time favorite songs, and I just knew she was the one! We had so much in common musically, and she was so easy to talk to. My husband and I take music very seriously, and she definitely understood that. I had very specific artists/songs that I wanted played (and not played)! She added a few of her own to really curate a perfect songlist for the day. She was a great communicator throughout the process, and used her extensive musical knowledge to really help us hit the perfect musical note (pun intended)! When I was stumped, she came up with the perfect accompaniment to my "walk down the aisle" song ("Northern Sky" by Nick Drake) and suggested "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young for my bridal party. The perfect folky complement! Throughout the day, as both Emcee and DJ, she carried a perfect tune. I couldn't have asked for a more professional DJ, or a better person! We LOVE Darla!! We started the process of hiring a DJ for our wedding a year prior to our wedding. She listened to every detail as we expressed how important music was as a part of our day. We knew we were going to hire DJ Darla Bea within five minutes of chatting with her on the phone! She was so friendly and communicative, and followed up with us frequently during planning. We were admittedly pretty hands-off when it came to music selection, giving her guidance on specific songs we wanted played (walking down the aisle, entrance, first dance, exit, etc.) and gave her a sample of what kind of music we really loved and a list of things that we didn't and let her do the rest. She did a PHENOMENAL job not only MCing the night, but also reading the room and knowing when to break out a sweet slow jam or a song to really get the party started. A good DJ is instrumental for the atmosphere of an event, and my husband and I were a little concerned only because our wedding was fairly small, but the dance floor was full all night and everyone had an absolute blast!

What can I say... The best day of our lives and we had the best DJ that a couple could ask for... DJ DARLA BEA. From our first conversation to post wedding check ins Darla has been amazing. She made the process so smooth and seemless, listened to what we had to say and chimed in with her experience and thoughts. It was always a pleasure talking to get by email, phone or even text. She is very organized and made it easy to her the information she needed to plan the music sets. DJ Darla is amazing when it comes to keeping the dance floor going but she is an amazing emcee as well. We never had any concerns during the ceremony or reception because DJ Darla was in control with anything audio. If something came up she would always come talk to us and if the venue or our day of coordinator needed something she would always communicate with them. Throughout the night DJ Darla handled business behind her turn tables and in front of the turn tables. There is nothing that we can say was negative... well except we wish we could do the ceremony and reception all over again so we can work the her gain. I can keep on going and going... but one last thing. If you are looking for a DJ for your event, don't hesitate with DJ DARLA BEA. At least reach out to her and start a conversation, you will not be disappointed. She is everything she advertises herself as and even more. We are trying to think of an event or party just so we can have DJ Darla there. In a weird way we consider her more than just a DJ but a friend.

We were very fortunate to be able to book Darla for our wedding. Darla is an incredible DJ and emcee. She is connected to many Santa Barbara wedding vendors and very well known and respected in the area. She took the time to get to know us and learn our music taste. She offered strong opinions and gave us honest feedback about some of our most important song choices (first dance, father-daughter dance, etc.). With all of the stress of planning a wedding, having someone who can give strong, informed opinions is invaluable. We can’t thank Darla enough for that. She spent hours with us on the phone and collaborating on a document to craft the perfect playlist for each part of our wedding day. Darla did our ceremony music (at the courthouse) using the speakers we rented from Just 4 Fun and used her own setup at our reception venue. This made for a seamless transition from one to the other, and we could not have been happier with her work. She knows how to set the mood for a beautiful ceremony and a fun party. We had a very small wedding, but Darla got everyone involved and made it a great party. Something that is easy to overlook is the emcee work the DJ does. Darla is perfect at that. She gets to know you and the guests, learns names of family and wedding party. She’s funny and complimentary during reception toasts and speeches. Darla also makes sure you know that she can be as involved or as in the background as you want her to be. She’s really there to make your wedding your perfect day. Thank you for everything, Darla!

Darla's attention to detail was incredible. She had us fill out a form of preferences beforehand, while also making some suggestions of her own (which were great), and everything about the music at our wedding was incredible. She knew just what to play at just the right time, and everyone had a complete blast. She was also very accommodating on the day with her time, and making sure everything was to our request. You should DEFINITELY book her if you're having a wedding anywhere near the Santa Barbara area.

My husband and I got married in July 2019 and chose Darla as our DJ. So glad we did! After our first phone conversation with Darla, we knew that she was the right person for the job. She has a very professional, bright, and cheery voice which was refreshing since we were trying to avoid the sometimes stereotypical "cheesy DJ voice." Darla helped us craft the perfect playlist for pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, and dancing. We included some of our favorite songs to give her our vibe, and she filled in the rest! Darla sets very high standards for her music selection and sound quality, demonstrated by her complimentary meetings/phone calls with us and early arrival to the venue to make sure that setup was seamless. You are in great hands if you choose Darla as your DJ. Don't hesitate!!

DJ Darla Bea is awesome! My husband and I couldn’t have been happier with the music Darla played at our wedding! She knows how to feel out a room and play certain songs when appropriate. Everyone was up and dancing when the time came and it made our wedding that much more special to see everyone relaxing and having fun. I highly recommend Darla to anyone looking for a great DJ for any type of event! She’s very kind, easy to talk to, and timely with emails and texts. Basically anything you want, she’s there for you. She worked with me to create a perfect playlist for my wedding and she also worked with my wedding coordinator so the wedding would be seamless. And it was! Really couldn’t be happier, so thank you DJ Darla Bea!

Responsive, fun, affordable, and the life of the party - Darla was everything we could have asked for in a DJ for our wedding. I've worked with a LOT of DJs, and Darla is by far the best - she genuinely listens to what her clients needs are, has thoughtful suggestions and is capable of getting even the most curmudgeonly guest onto the dance floor!

Darla really has it all when it comes to weddings! She was a true professional before, during, and after the event, making our wedding easy, fun, and perfect in every way (her 5 star reviews and numerous awards are definitely well earned). It is hard to sum up her services in a quick review, but here goes: - Professionalism: From our first meeting, it was apparent that Darla sets incredibly high standards for herself. Sound quality, song or genre choices, "banned" lists, and cohesiveness throughout the night are all thoughtfully planned out and executed. With all the craziness of wedding planning, it was such a gift to know that our DJ duties were covered without hesitation. - Transitions: She had a perfect way of transitioning throughout the evening. Starting with a light but sacred ceremony, to a young and trendy cocktail hour, to a soulful and magical dinner, to a dance floor that kept all ages moving, she was able to link each part of the night seamlessly. - Announcements: Her announcements throughout the night kept us on track, which isn't always the easiest as the night goes on. She has such a classy way of speaking as well, which is SO much more sophisticated than your typical "cheesy wedding DJ". - Extras: During dinner, guests were able to fill out song request sheets, which was an added discussion starter / ice breaker. Once dancing started, she had giant glow sticks that were an absolute hit!

DJ Darla Bea is incredible! Don't think twice and hire her for your wedding. Not only did she do an amazing job DJing our wedding, but she provided outstanding service leading up to the big day. She spent time learning about both of our music tastes and how we wanted the day to go. We spent a lot of time talking on the phone and emailing. She was easy to get a hold of and genuinely excited about our wedding. She also helped us work in some Jewish traditions, which was really fun. Our friends AND family danced for hours straight at our wedding reception. It was unbelievable! We all had a BLAST. So many guests have reached out post-wedding to compliment the music and dancing. Also, Darla checked in with us throughout the night and made sure we were happy (we were!). She handed out song request sheets and brought glow sticks. A great touch. She respected our "Do Not Play List" and joked around with our guests if they requested something on it. It made for a really funny banter at the wedding between guests. We HIGHLY recommend DJ Darla Bea. She is a wonderful person and knows how to host a wonderful party. If you want to dance and have fun she's your DJ.

Darla is hands-down the best! We adore her in every way- she is creative, professional, reliable, passionate and understands your tastes and preferences with little instruction. She kept our dance floor full all night which was our biggest request for our whole wedding day! We could not recommend her enough!

Darla was great! She kept everyone dancing all night long and let guests write down song requests during dinner. She provided suggestions for songs for our special moments that we needed help with and even found a special instrumental version of a song for our ceremony. She went above and beyond to make sure our day was special and how we had imagined it. We loved every second of working with her!
