We were trying to find a unique venue for our wedding since we are not religious and just wanted to have something fun and memorable. We were having a small daytime wedding with only about 40-50 people total. Overall, the day-of wasn't so bad a...nd I think for the most part everyone had a good time and the experience was memorable. The ballroom was gorgeous and set up with nice centerpieces and lights.
However, the event coordinator there (Nancy Cooper) was not very organized. She didn't inform me of everything that was going on and I felt like I had to take control and be asking a million questions that she should have just informed me about beforehand. A few weeks before my wedding, she told me that I couldn't have my reception at the agreed upon time because there was a different event that would be occupying my space. I had to move my event time and create a whole new schedule even though I had already printed out programs, schedules, and invitations with a different layout. We went from having a lunch to having a breakfast reception (which did help with the cost, but it wasn't what we had envisioned) and had to promptly clear the room at noon. I wish I had more time to spend with my guests and take pictures instead of being hurried out of the Ballroom. We worked with what we could and were accommodating, but I feel like I shouldn't have to do that on my wedding day.
