We are SO GLAD we had our wedding ceremony at Eden Gardens State Park! It is such a gorgeous venue!! We are a lesbian couple, and Lauren, the event coordinator for Eden Gardens, was totally cool with that.
A lot of couples get married on the ...
beach, but we didn't want to do that because the wind can make it hard to hear the ceremony, direct sunlight is not very flattering for photos, and it costs a lot to reserve a tent as a rain backup plan. You know you need a rain backup plan any time of the year in Florida!
Eden gardens is, no contest, the best outdoor venue on the Panhandle. The background for photos is stunningly beautiful in all directions! We loved the 600-year-old wedding oak tree covered in moss and ferns. We also loved the views of the bay and the stately mansion. There is a reason a whole busload of high school kids arrived to take prom photos here just as we were leaving!
Eden gardens works great as a ceremony venue during the daytime. The price is fantastic - only $471 plus a $1 entry fee per guests reserves the park and the screened-in pavilion, which is an excellent rain backup plan. The pavilion has wood floors and a pretty view of the gardens, so I think it's nicer than most wedding tents. However, we were disappointed that you are not allowed to serve alcohol until after sunset. In April, that meant no alcohol until 7:20pm, by which time the mosquitos are usually out! So, we chose to have our reception elsewhere (Firefly restaurant).
It was easy to reach Lauren by phone, although her office hours are somewhat limited. It was tricky to reserve our date - you have to call at midnight 11 months before your desired wedding dates and leave a message. I called exactly at midnight and got my first choice: a Saturday in April.
We highly recommend Eden Gardens as a wedding ceremony venue!

Wow! The gardens and the park were breathtaking. We needed a venue that was magical and natural and couldn't have asked for anything better. It was spellbinding. The pavilion was homey; familiar and comfortable, and accommodated everything we a...
nd our guests needed. The security staff was respectful , polite, and made sure we had everything we needed and even gave my bridesmaids and I a lift to the ceremony site from the pavilion. If you want somewhere spectacular for your special day, don't waste any time looking anywhere else. The glory of the day gives way to a hauntingly beautiful night atmosphere separated from the rest of the world. They gave us the start of our happily ever after.

I loved everything about this park as soon as I arrived the first time! It was picture perfect without anything. We added some of our own decor but were able to keep the cost down because of the natural beauty.

Beautiful setting for a wedding. Unfortunately, my wedding was rained out so we got married in the pavilion. However, the azaleas were all in bloom and made for a beautiful backdrop. Staff was helpful and easy to contact for planning purposes.
