LaShawn “Shawn” Powell, born and raised in Washington DC. With an associate degree in business administration, she has over 20 years of office administration experience; building a career with the federal government for the last 17 years. Married for 23 years, she and her husband live in Upper Marlboro, Maryland with their two sons – ages 23 and 17. Shawn began her event planner’s journey in 2007 when she originally created her company, Eventfully Yours, Shawn (EYS). With much success, Shawn built a wide range network of event venues, vendors, partners, and clients. Although Shawn didn’t continue with the event planning business, she didn’t completely give up her love for event planning. Over the years Shawn continued to plan and organize birthday parties, baby showers, family reunions and business networking events for family and friends. Seventeen years later, her love for event planning came full circle. It brought her back to Eventfully Yours, Shawn, also known as EYS. After becoming a licensed Life Insurance Broker and running a financial solutions business, in early 2023 Shawn decided to resurrect her event planning business. After creating and operating a business platform for financial solutions, she re-established her entrepreneurial mindset, which lead to her decision of getting back to what she loves – event planning. To accommodate 17 years of event planning experience, LaShawn “Shawn” Powell, has decided to enroll in event planning school to become a certified Event Planner. As the CEO of Eventfully Yours, Shawn (EYS) LLC, she continues to work to rebuild her clientele and a network of the best event vendors so that EYS can provide exceptional services and execute the most memorable events for the occasion.
