Booking this team for our ocean front wedding in Maui was a stroke of genius. Not only did they capture the essence of Hawaii perfectly, but their ability to make us laugh and relax was second to none. The photos are quiet luxury, rich, filled with life, and each one tells a story. They exceeded our high expectations!

Lauren hires independent photographers and coordinates the session with you. It’s a hit or miss with the photographer you get. I have done two sessions via Lauren Dixon Photography. First, wedding session, beautiful pictures. Second, maternity session, complete disappointment. So I have a direct comparison of the quality of work you can expect. Maternity pictures lacked the following- 1. Backdrop not as requested. Showing stacks of rocks not ocean. 2. Awkward, unflattering poses. Direction of photography was a complete miss. 3. Picture focus was a miss. Pictures focused on bottom underwear not pregnancy belly. Can’t imagine folks hanging this on their wall. 4. Picture quality was a miss! Lighting was dark and gloomy not as advertised via her Facebook pictures - bright and sunny on the beach. 5. Overall, you are paying for photo editing but pictures don’t show much editing. Editing won’t help if the picture quality isn’t good. Lauren is open to feedback. She offered me one 8x10 free print since the session was a complete disaster. That’s more of an insult than an apology considering you will never get that moment back and your money!!!

Lauren's team of photographers and Lauren herself were an absolute dream to work with. They couldn't have made our day any better than it was. Lauren was always very quick to answer any questions we had and was always extremely friendly and heard us out about what we wanted for our wedding. There was not a single negative thing about the whole experience. Once the photos arrived I cried with excitement as they were exactly what we wanted. Moody/creative/artistic/scenic/thoughtful etc etc etc.... the photography and editing were 10/10. I have never looked at a photo of myself and loved it before until we received these photos back. Lauren was also extremely receptive of my husband wanting a specific change on a couple of photos and did that with no hesitation. It really felt like she TRULY wanted to make us happy with our photos whereas some other photographers are NOT like that and are only in it for the money. I am sad that I wont get to get married again and re-hire LDP as our wedding photography team as the experience and wedding day/trip was nothing short of a dream. My wife was adamant about hiring a professional photographer for our wedding but I was hesitant because I already don’t like being in front of the camera. The LD team were a dream come true for our wedding! Their creativity, their timeliness in delivering our photos, and the quick and constant communication were everything we could’ve asked for and more! Before meeting us, they asked about what we would like, any specific types of photos, giving us full control. We do not normally take professional pictures and told them we trusted them completely and did not have any preferences-best choice we ever made. Our wedding pictures are AMAZING! My husband and I needed lots of posing and coaching and the photographers made us feel comfortable and definitely became part of the family that day! Not only did they capture us well, but the decor, the guests, and the genuine love can be felt through their creative work of our wedding. Lauren is a total dream to work with. We always knew we wanted to get married in Hawaii but we wanted to capture a very specific aesthetic and vibe, and Lauren's portfolio sucked us in as it was exactly what we were going after. I had Tara Murphy and Lauren Baer as my photographers for my wedding day. Lauren Dixon did all the editing for my photos and I am so glad we look like ourselves still. In the moment of taking photos, my husband and I felt incredibly awkward and didn't know what to do with ourselves. (Not because of the team... we're just not used to taking photos) Somehow, that didn't show up in our final photos?! Earl Pelera and Kip Bowser was in charge of video. The video surprised me because more than half the time I didn't even notice them recording which was great. The photography team and videographers worked incredibly well together. At the end of the day, every time I look back at my gallery and videos, I catch myself with a smile on my face. They captured moments I didn't know happened and I am so grateful. I am beyond happy with who I chose for my photos and video. Thank you again! <3

Lauren and her crew did a PHENOMENAL job on our wedding photos and videos. I was so worried I would have to sift through weird angles and double chinned photos but I was so pleasantly surprised to love pretty much every single photo we received. The video made me cry (my mom too!), and every edit and filter was done so well. We are SO happy with our choice to go with Lauren Dixon and would 100% recommend her and her team!

Lauren is as sweet as they come. She is a delight to work with and truly loves what she does. She is very responsive and made a last minute reschedule work out for us. Lauren’s attention to detail and editing style is what caught our eye. Lauren’s editing style is AMAZING! We received our engagement photos within a month, Yay! About that reschedule…it was a location, date and time change on our end. We went from a trash the dress post Hawaii wedding to engagement shoot in Salt Lake City and she was able to accommodate and get our photos back in a very timely manner considering the reschedule, which we appreciated 100% Lauren set us with one photographer in Salt Lake City. She was super sweet and made us feel very comfortable. She had multiple poses planned and was our very own hype team. She was definitely a trooper being that it was in the snow at the end of January at sunset. Lauren set us up with two photographers and two videographers for our wedding in Oahu, Hawaii. The team of four were very professional and fun to work with. They worked very well together and captured our special day. We would recommend them to anyone. We looked for weeks for the right photographer and we are so happy we found Lauren and her team. They have been so helpful throughout every step of the process. After how much fun we had during our session, we knew our wedding day would be perfect! It was everything we had hoped for and more! Her team felt like an extended version of our family. Lauren Dixon Photography made the entire wedding experience very smooth, and even worked closely with our wedding planner to make sure that we got the right photographer and shots that we wanted. Whenever we had any questions, they responded very quickly and were always very helpful. Because this was a destination wedding for us, we weren't familiar with local vendors and they graciously linked us with whatever we needed. Wish they had photography for other things because we would love to work with them again!!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to get around to write my few reviews. My husband and I eloped in Hawaii in November 2019 and Lauren played such a huge role in making our day so special for us. For starters... I had never been to Hawaii but I described to Lauren my dream location and she had recommended Makapu'u Beach and all I can say is WOW. She literally brought my dream to life, my husband and I could not have picked a more perfect location if we tried it was everything we wanted and we have Lauren to thank for that. The entire process from the first time I reached out to Lauren up until the wedding day was so easy and stress free she was easy to work with and very professional. We hadn't done any engagement photos so I was a little nervous of how comfortable we'd be taking the photos and we seriously had SO much fun. Lauren was such a sweet, fun person who brought great energy and made us feel so comfortable the entire time. She is so talented, all the photos we have seen so far have brought tears to my eyes they are beautiful and make me want to go back and relive the day all over again. I had a destination wedding in Honolulu and came across Lauren's instagram page while I was searching for photographers in Hawaii. This was the best decision I had made because she was amazing. She makes you feel so comfortable around her and she made the whole experience so fun! The photos came out so beautiful and romantic. To be completely candid, Lauren is the best photographer my husband and I have ever used. I’m so beyond thankful we found a photographer with real gumption, originality, and a creative vision of beautiful moments worth capturing. My husband and I aren’t too comfortable getting our picture taken because we always feel goofy and aren’t sure what to do but Lauren effortlessly got through our shy barrier and captured US. I found Lauren on Instagram by chance when looking at photographers on Oahu. My husband and I didn't get as many photos together on our wedding day due to rain so we wanted to do a honeymoon shoot. I fell in love with Lauren's Instagram/style and knew she was the one! Lauren is by far one of the best photographers I have worked and trust me, I have worked with quite a few from my engagement pictures, wedding, honeymoon, vacation, babymoon, newborn session and so on. I found Lauren while I was researching destination photographers in Hawaii for our babymoon. Looking at her work I was so drawn to how effortlessly she captured each couple’s love for each other and how romantic it was. People say a picture is worth a thousand words and Lauren sure knows how to capture it! So without hesitation I booked Lauren and I thought how amazing it was that she worked with us and our location as I was I Maui and she was in Honolulu. Prior to us meeting, I shared with her what I wanted and what my vision was and Lauren definitely executed. I was 35 weeks pregnant and she made me feel so comfortable and pretty, which is a hard task at the stage in pregnancy. We got to know each other within such a short amount of time and she is so funny too! My husband and I kept on laughing and now I know why she’s able to capture a couple’s story. I highly recommend Lauren because she won’t let you down, whatever the occasion may be. She will make you feel at ease and you will feel so comfortable that your pictures will turn out amazing and not stiff at all. She won’t rush you and will make sure to capture the moment at every angle. Your wedding day is one of the most important days and every couple should have that day perfectly captured for a lifetime of memories. I only wished she was located in California because I would use her for all my life events!

Lauren was the photographer for my friends wedding in Kauai this August and I would recommend her to anyone. Lauren is a dream! I had so much trust and love for her that I didn't even remember to double check details with her before the wedding. I didn't need to! She showed up precisely on time and with so much energy and joy for the day that it was like one of my best friends came to shoot our wedding. Everything was perfectly organized with Lauren on our wedding day. She had the second shooter exactly where she needed to be, and she had all the details about how and what she was doing worked out. All I had to do was be in the day. As was the case with our engagement photo shoots, on our wedding day, Lauren shot and produced and edited absolutely stunning photos, well above the number she needed! She was prompt with photo delivery, excessive in the work she did for us, and enduringly joyful, professional, and artistic in her art. At the end of the night on our wedding, she found me, handed me a card, and gave me a huge hug. I sat down at the table and read the sweetest message from her and it is little gestures of grace like this that Lauren brings to the entirety of the experience with her. Everything is done with so much love, care, and thought that I cannot be grateful enough for her, especially as, no matter what my physical hang-ups about my looks were, Lauren, in every photo delivered, made me look and feel like a GODDESS birthed of Beyonce herself. If you want photos brimming with light, care, and art, as well as an experience that runs smoothly, goes FAR above your expectations (no matter how high they might be), and that makes you honestly feel like your best friend came into town to take photos of you, then Lauren is for you.

Lauren truly cares about her clients and our experience with her through the entirety of the wedding day reflected this at every point. She was completely on time, and never lagged in energy. She rolled with all the punches (a bird pooped in her mouth at one point and she shook it off like a CHAMPION) and whenever our wedding party or myself felt unsure what to do, she had prompts, suggestions, and ideas for us. There was even a moment where Lauren saw how nervous I was and walked me through a breathing exercise that really calmed me down. All the photos she produces (which are always greater in number then she needs to do) are professionally and thoughtfully edited and curated. She even gave us a card at the end of our day. The photo albums she produced for us were clear, crisp, and professionally styled. Both my wife and I agree, whole-heartedly, besides choosing to marry each other, Lauren was our absolutely best choice at our wedding.

I came across Lauren’s Instagram as I was researching for the perfect photographer for our wedding. From the start, Lauren was extremely responsive. It didn’t take us long before we were convinced to have Lauren capture both our engagement session and wedding. I found Lauren on The Knot while I was looking for a wedding photographer in 2017. I had already taken engagement photos at this point but I knew I had to get a full package with Lauren after seeing some of her photos and this was one of the best decisions I've ever (yes, ever) made! When we couldn’t decide between a beach or city shoot, she suggested we just do both! On her own time, she fit us and our two shoots in and showed up with so much energy for the project that we were inspired and immediately set at ease. To work with her is a dream - she’s reliable, totally ease-making, and completely tuned into you and your vision. I described wanting active, light infused, organic, and shaker natural unposed photos that felt like “us in our best light,” and that is exactly what we got! Our engagement photos were sent to us extremely promptly (which is amazing when you’re so excited about them that you check your email a thousand times a day) and she edited and sent us so many more photos then she originally told us. It is hard to know where to start with this review because when I think of Lauren, I don't know where to begin expressing my gratitude first. Not only is she an amazing photographer but she is an incredibly genuine human being. During our engagement session, Lauren made us feel so comfortable and was so in tune with who we were as a couple. We felt like she had known us for years after seeing how she captured us in our photographs. On our action packed wedding day where we attempted to merge both the traditional and the modern, Lauren was so patient and accommodating. She took time to capture what was important to us and our family. When we look back at the photos of our special day, we can't help but feel lucky that she entered our life chapter at just the right time.

Out of all the tasks to be done during wedding planning, we did not know that picking Lauren as our photographer would be one of our favorite and most fun part. The style and aesthetic of her photos online were what first stood out to us and when she suggested one of our favorite coffee shops as a meeting place, we knew it was the beginning of something good. As a non-PDA type of couple, we were worried about the awkwardness that might be captured on camera, but Lauren made us feel so comfortable and allowed us the joy of being ourselves. When we received our photos, we were completely amazed at how well she was able to capture both the quirks of our relationship and the sentiments of our most special day. Lauren is an incredible photographer and such a genuine human being, choosing her was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process.

Preface to my 5 star: not a lot of photographers allow for an elopement package but Lauren Dixon Photography did! That was one thing we were looking for...from there, we fell in love with her style! The colors, the "unposed" images...it felt more raw and edgy and we really loved it. She was already booked for our day but we worked with one of her Indi associates, Aspen. She guided us when we didn't know how to pose (aka what do I do with my hands??) and made it a super fun evening. We hadn't gotten our photos back but we're absolutely thrilled and know they're going to make us look SO GOOD. 10/10 would work with both ladies again!

She left my wedding forty-five minutes into a prepaid 4-hour shoot. She up and left and wouldn’t give me a refund for the unused time. Everything seemed fine on my wedding day until she said she, a wedding photographer, felt sick from my flowers. At the time I had compassion for someone who claimed to be ill, only to find out later on her Instagram she went on to two other shoots that same weekend! I figured she would be empathetic and sorry for leaving the biggest day of my life, without a backup or second shooter. I thought she would offer the refund herself but she didn’t. When I asked her for the 3+ hours she owed us, she would not refund us and even got aggressive about it. SHE left, SHE canceled, not me. It does not make sense. We paid $1600 for four hours of her time, shooting photography. Lauren and I created an itinerary well in advance, for the full 4 hours. We had planned for multiple locations after the ceremony with backup plans in case of rain. What we got was one location, for 45 minutes, and that’s all. In her emails since, she has claimed we paid for “up TO 4 hours” and not actually “4 hours”, even though Lauren and I had planned on the full 4 hour shoot. The way she left was horrible too; my husband and I were in an Uber on the way to our second location when she texted me, saying she will be cancelling the rest of the day due to her being sick. I have all the emails to prove the above. IT GETS WORSE: After emails back and forth, she was going to come to our elopement party to “make up” for the hours missed (which is not even close to being half as important as the day we got married and would never make up for it) and then SHE DIDN’T EVEN COME. Lauren did not show up. Instead, she sent a last-minute replacement who I did not know about or hire. By the way, the pictures her replacement took were all bad and there weren’t any of the most important part of the night, where my husband sang to me. There were none of us reading our vows, none of him stepping on the glass and none of our posed ones as a couple. We paid a lot of money to have Lauren herself take the photos and it was meant to be for our wedding day in San Fran. We didn’t want pictures at the little party. We just wanted a refund. We paid for our small wedding ourselves, and the one thing we were most excited for was beautiful photos in a beautiful venue on this special day. There is no excusing her behavior and general lack of empathy for that day we will never have again. We feel absolutely swindled and although her photos are pretty, her complete unreliability and lack of basic accountability made me write this review and urge you to stay away. To Lauren: Getting sick and canceling means you lose out on money. It should have never been on me to lose my money and not have pictures of my wedding day.

I honestly wish there was more than five starts to rate Lauren on because I absolutely love her. I booked Lauren earlier in the year when I got engaged and got so lucky because she had 1 more opening for 2017. I seriously think it was a blessing that day that I had the chance to book her. Just by looking at her photography, you already know her work is amazing. But as a person, Lauren is one of the sweetest, genuine souls I have ever met. I was so incredibly happy with my engagement shoot that I couldn't wait for the wedding day to come in November for her to shoot my wedding. Photography is always hard because most couples always feel awkward at first, but not with Lauren! She made us feel so comfortable and natural that it made the experience really great. Words can't explain how thankful I am for her, because not only did I get amazing photos of the most important day of my life, but I gained a friend through the process as well. If you want a kickass photographer, book Lauren!
