We loved the Frog Pond! This was our wedding ceremony and reception venue and we had the best experience! We were able to customize it and have our wedding exactly how we wanted. We were given access to set up days before the actual wedding and the rooms to stay in for the wedding weekend. The night of the wedding we didn't have any time restrictions like at other venues and overall we couldn't be happier with our choice to go with he Frog Pond!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Frog Pond and it was the absolute ideal location for us. The grounds are absolutely beautiful for an outdoor ceremony, very spacious with well tended landscaping and towering old trees that create a scene you cannot find anywhere else. The quaint charm of the bed & breakfast and carriage barn where we had the reception was just the best. Guests walking up the driveway looked around in awe at how beautiful it is here, more than one person commenting they felt like they were in a movie! The hospitality of Cathy and Jack for those who stayed overnight in some of the 3 bedrooms we rented for the weekend was 5 star. The daily breakfast was prepared from scratch and was all locally sourced and prepared perfectly. Our wedding day was literally perfect and Frog Pond was a big part of the reason why. If you have the opportunity to book an event here you are in for a truly magical time.
I wouldn't recommend. The property is beautiful, as is much of upstate ny. The owners have no business running this place. The most stressful part of my wedding was Kathy. She's dishonest, she lies, and makes up rules as she goes and her anxiety isn't what any bride needs on their wedding day. The bait and switch nonsense wears you thin but came out right form the beginning. It's a lovely property, we had a great time for the wedding, but for the price (which is more expensive than any other place and does not include ANYTHING) it isn't worth it really. as to not bore anyone with a long review and details about how things made me "feel", I'll give u the basic run-down: 1. ) She told us we had to rent out 2 rooms for 2 nights. ok, no problem. she said $150 a night, website said $150 a night. she raised it up to $225 a night. 2.) We were told there was an additional charge past 100 people. 3.) We had to rent bathrooms since the property didnt include bathrooms, (although she charges an arm and a leg for the venue, no bathrooms are included.) we could only rent from 1 company she liked to deal with to rent the bathrooms. 4.) since it was a summer wedding, she said past weddings installed their own water misting systems for the heat. went out, purchased water misting systems, only to find out NO ONE had ever installed water misting systems because there is no water hook up to the carriage house. she made it up. her carriage house doesn't include fans or anything for the heat. 5.) Day before the wedding, she said she noticed we brought sparklers to the wedding for the send off and she didnt want sparklers because of her husbands tractors. wedding sparklers are the long ones, and as most brides know, they're not cheap at all. 6.) her "gourmet" breakfast consisted of white hot dogs, and tiger lillies which are not edible and she insisted that they were. also, a white sauce that when asked what it was, she cracked up and showed up a red hot sauce bottle. it was embarrassing and i just ignored it. 7.) she deducted $45 out of the security deposit for a sign that supposedly kids threw rocks at. there were no kids and no one by the sign. it was a small wedding. 8.) day after the wedding, made arrangements for breakfast at 10:30am so we could sleep in. she freaked out about this and asked our guest to see if we could leave at 9am because her daughter was coming in to town. her daughter supposedly coming in to town, was not our problem. 9.) thought it was weird when we booked it originally, she said she would like the music to be quiet because she had neighbors. it's a wedding, not a birthday party. 10.) IT'S A GARDEN WEDDING! WE'RE PAYING EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR A GARDEN WEDDING - she said she provides all the flowers and makes it look very pretty, so we didnt get a florist to decorate outside. it was a bit dry, so instead of pulling a water hose over, like she did for her house, SHE LET ALL THE GRASS DIE AND TURN BROWN- BURNT TO A CRISP AND DID NOT BUY ANY FLOWERS- she didnt decorate with any flowers at all! couldnt find a florist last minute, nor should i have had to pay that expense, but funny enough, she had the audacity to suggest one of her friends that was a florist. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. DEALING WITH FROG POND WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY WEDDING.

Beautiful place! Some set backsReviewed on 7/14/2013 Stephanie B
The grounds, the barn, the B&B, were all gorgeous. My wedding was mid june and all her flowers were in bloom and full and just perfect. The barn is clean and bright and lovely. However, the owner was a bit rude and the cost for an empty building is a lot more than it should be.
