I don't even know where to begin with how much I appreciate the entire team at Guastavino's. Our entire engagement journey with them, especially Victoria and Jospeh, was such an easy, smooth experience. We definitely had a lot of questions, and a lot we wanted done, but they executed it all perfectly. My now husband and I knew we wanted our wedding to also be quintessentially New York City, and this is the perfect venue for that with its architecture and hidden gem vibes underneath the 59th Street bridge. Highly recommend!
We just celebrated our daughter’s wedding on March 19, 2022 (after having to postpone because of the pandemic ) at this stunning and unique venue built under the 59th Street bridge in Nyc. The architecture is absolutely incredible. Our guests are still raving about the food , the service , and the beautiful space . It was truly the most magical evening . It was a wedding dream come true. The staff is professional, caring and top notch. Shout out to Joseph , Victoria, and Joseph. Highly recommend checking out this amazing venue if you are looking for a 5 star experience.
The space itself is beautiful, but the staff that will make or break any experience. I was at ease after meeting with Joseph and Kylie many times who I know could orchestrate with their team and my other event vendors so my guests would have an amazing experience. They did not disappoint. I found the team to be experienced, and accommodating to all of our requests. We brought in a Kosher catering company, and there was no issues between caterers and service. Highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a beautiful venue and top notch service!
Guastavino's is an amazing venue! It is more spectacular in person than you see in pictures. I fell in love with the gorgeous architecture and loved that it felt like a "hidden gem" - being on a street that you wouldn't normally frequent. Don't believe any negative reviews- this team is top notch! The staff will go above and beyond to make your event magical. I was married there in Feb 2020 and hope brides and grooms are able to celebrate at this iconic NYC venue again soon!
Guastavino's is right in line with the top wedding venues in NYC like The Plaza and The Pierre and after having our wedding here in September, I can easily say that Guastavino's tops both of those across all categories: class, service, food, flexibility, size, personality, luxury, the list goes on and on...
Throughout our process of exploring venues, we did look at other top venues like The Plaza, The Pierre, The Essex House, and others. We also attended weddings previously as guests at all of these venues. We were never guests at a wedding at Guastavino's so in that sense, we were going in blind.
When we first walked into the space, we were in awe. It is so unique in its architecture, layout, and feel, and is very iconic New York. Built right into the arches of the Queenboro Bridge, it doesn't get much more Manhattan than that.
Besides falling in love with the space instantly, what put us over the top was the attentiveness, personal care, and obvious experience from every single person we interacted with from day 1. I will add, this feeling and attentiveness did not subside for one second throughout our year long process leading up to the wedding and even after. It is clear that owner John and his staff really understand what service means and they certainly understand how to put on an exceptional event.
What's even more impressive is that, while the price is not by any means cheap or budget, it is absolutely reasonable. Reasonable in the sense that it's not outrageous, you fully understand every single cost without any secrets, shadiness, or question at all, but also the entire team actually cares and listens to your budget concerns, vision, and ideas and does everything in their power to make it all come together. And if for some reason they cannot, they are transparent and let you know. We cannot say the same about ANY of the other venues we looked at.
Beyond that, when I say that Guastavino's has done it all, seen it all, and can handle literally any request you can think of (even if its the week of the wedding), I really mean it. There were several occasions where I asked "can we do this" or "is this possible" knowing well that the answer is likely no, but the answer was always "yes absolutely" or "we've never done that, but we will make it happen."
What makes Guastavino's really special is the staff all led by John as I mentioned. John is a real New Yorker, not a pushy salesman, and it's clear he is a family man. It's also obvious this is the culture he engrained in his team. I can honestly say, whether I was interacting with John, our talented coordinator Megan, our awesome host Joe, Abdul (who needs no title), our attendant Erica, or ANYONE else on the team, WE felt like family.
Ok, so the food... Have you ever been to a wedding and said "wow the food was great?" Probably not, but your guests absolutely will. Food was 5-star!
I will leave it with this: you absolutely get what you see at Guastavino's and if you want an honest, luxury, top 5 NYC venue, you MUST at least give Guastavino's a look. Arguably, I didn't even need to write this entire review, because I know that the second you step foot in the space and interact with the team, you will experience the same magic we did and then, and only then will you understand (and ask yourself "why didn't I check this place out sooner?").
Thanks John, Megan, Joe, Erica, and the entire team at Guastavino's. You really are the best in the business.
I can't thank Guastavino's enough for hosting our wedding this past June. They worked seamlessly with our planners, florists, designers, band, etc to make sure we had a seamless event. They were very responsive the entire way and extremely knowledgeable & supportive leading up to the wedding. The staff was so extremely attentive and made sure that every guest felt special. From our initial tour, to the food tasting, to many walk-throughs, and the weekend itself, Guastavino's did not disappoint. An extremely elegant and chic NYC venue with top notch service. Did I mention the food was INCREDIBLE!!! Our guests have not stopped talking about it. Many reputable vendors that are connected with Guastavino's. We HIGHLY recommend using Guastavino's as your wedding or event venue!
There is not a more spectacular venue to get married at in Manhattan than Guastavino's!! You will not find a lovelier, more accommodating, friendly, and easy to work with staff than the Guastavino's team. I am so thankful for Megan, Joseph, and every single member of the Guastavino's staff for executing everything behind the scenes of my wedding day flawlessly; they did not overlook a single detail. I only wish they could have been guests at my party after getting to know them so well over the planning process!! They also assigned me a bridal attendant who was the sweetest woman on earth and tended to my every need throughout the whole night, somehow managing to elevate an already perfect day. The food was delicious unlike most venues, and the bar helped us create custom cocktails that our guests raved about. The space itself is spectacular- from the arch, to the custom lighting, to the sweeping spiral staircase, and everything in between. I could not more strongly recommend using Guastavino's as the home for your next event, I wish I could have given them a 10 star review, and that I had another party coming up to hire them again!!!
We were married at Guastavino's on 12/15/18 and the entire day went by so smoothly.
Megan and Annmarie (the event managers) were so thorough, organized, creative, and attentive throughout the entire process. They are open to any request and make you feel at ease.
The food was outstanding -- you get a large qty of cocktail hour choices (all of them amazing) and entree choices. The food doesn't feel mass-produced like at some other venues. Every dish seems like it was made special for you. My only complaint is that I wish the cocktail hour was more than an hour! The stations and pass-arounds were exceptional.
The bar service exceeded expectations -- the signature drink at the cocktail hour was served as guests left the ceremony so the bars didn't get jammed, plus there were plenty of trays of champagne and wine for people to grab from. The bars never really formed a line. Not to mention, Guastavino's only serves top-shelf brands. The reception service was treated the same way...servers came around with wine/drink orders, wine was on the table, plus guests can go up to the bar.
Music -- we chose Cafe Wha (also outstanding) and the acoustics/partnership between the band and Guastavino's was perfect.
General flow of the day -- soooo organized, on-schedule, and seamless. I can't name one hiccup.
The best part is that Guastavino's assigns both a day-of coordinator to make sure you stay on schedule AND a bridal attendant (she was incredible. I felt so spoiled!).
There is a dressing room/bridal suite...this is where I put on my dress and went to for breaks throughout the night.
Highly recommend!
I cannot be thankful enough for all the time and expertise that the planners at Guastavino's put into my wedding both leading up to the event and on the night of. From the very beginning of every meeting, being greeted at the door of Guastavino's is a pleasure! I must have emailed Hailey (my Guastavino's coordinator) close to 1000 times and I never had to wait more than few hours (which is key in the craze of planning) for a thoughtful and knowledgeable answer. The team was flexible on things that were important to me and I truly believe that the success of the event was as important to them as it was to me. The added touches that they provide, from the extensive cocktail hour buffets, to fresh squeezed juices at the bar to the late night cotton candy, was noticed by all and commented by man of our guests after the wedding. Setting aside the service for a minute, the "wow" factor of the second floor is really unparalleled. It is absolutely stunning and the ability to change the lighting throughout the evening was also awesome. Lastly, when my husband and I run through the list of the favorite parts of our wedding, something we never forget to mention is Sandra, our "night of" attendant, a perk that is often not included in many premier NYC hotels or luxury destinations. She was always quietly at our side offering us our favorite cocktail or with a cold towel or water on the dance floor, or touching up my lip gloss, and magically appearing when it was time to cut the cake with my husband's jacket and our speech (we still don't know how she knew we would need this or how it was!). She also attended to our parents and really made all or our experiences stress free (and hydrated)! I can not thank Guastavino's enough and cannot imagine a better wedding experience!
Guastavino's was the most incredible venue for our wedding. The space itself is breathtaking. Beyond the truly stunning architecture, unique event space, and perfect Manhattan location, the highlight of Guastavino's is the phenomenal staff. Joseph, Hailey, and Alison made the the planning process and the day-of a breeze. Our day would not have been possible without Sandra who was the biggest help and source of calm during the ceremony and reception. She was the very best!! Guastavino's is a wonderful space for any event, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a unique, gorgeous venue with the highest quality staff and service.
Guastavino's held our recent wedding for 275 guests and no detail was overlooked. When we were initially looking for a wedding venue in nyc we found it challenging to find something unique until we saw Guastavino's. The space itself is absolutely spectacular with beautiful stone arches and huge windows looking out at the city.
We had very high expectations for our wedding at Guastavino's and every element of the evening greatly exceeded our expectations. The staff at Guastavino's is top notch. From Holly, the on site coordinator, who irons out every detail of the evening with you in advance and is on site that day to oversee to Joseph, the extremely polished maître d, who anticipates what you and your guests will want long before you do to every waiter, bartender and doorman who is professional and warm and accommodating, the staff at Guastavino's truly blew us away.
We had heard rave reviews from friends who had previously attended events at Guastavino's that the food was fantastic and at our tasting we were very impressed. Being able to replicate a delicious meal for 6 for 275 is no easy task but Guastavino's seemed to have no issues with this. Cocktail hour was over the top and each course of our dinner was outstanding. The little details of the evening like fresh squeezed juices at the bar and the ease if getting drinks all night and passed desserts on the dance floor reminded us that we had picked the right venue for our wedding.
Choosing the right venue for an event is obviously a tremendously important part of the planning process. I can not more highly recommend Guastavino's for a wedding or any event.
Guastavino's was a spectacular venue to hold a wedding. We received so many compliments from guests about how beautiful the space was, which is part of the 59th Street bridge, the ceilings are an architectural beauty. The food was as if you were dining in a 5 star restaurant (especially for wedding food) is difficult to do, but they knocked it out of the park. The food during the cocktail hour was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff was courteous and the wedding went off without a hitch. The reason for the 4 star is that you have to ask for everything, which is typical of most places. They won't offer anything unless you ask. I really had to self-initiate the entire process. Every detail is discussed through email with the on-site wedding coordinator. The lighting is outsourced and mandatory and is expensive, but beautiful! Lastly, we left most of our decorative props at the venue and picked it up the following business day and some of our items went missing which was too bad. Overall, it was a great experience and would highly recommend the venue.
