Herbert holler made my wedding night such a blast. EVERYONE danced. Even people who normally don’t. It was truly one of the best parties i’ve ever been to. Highly recommend him to anyone who wants a fun night that people are still talking about. Truly EPIC

If there’s one thing you should take away from this review, it is this - You should DEFINITELY hire Herbert Holler to DJ your wedding! From the very first phone call, it was obvious that he is someone who loves his job. He has an extensive knowledge and love of music means no matter what you want the soundtrack of your wedding or event to be, he’s got you and your guests of ALL ages covered. He was communicative, easy to work with, clearly invested in making sure we had a great time at our wedding, and that everything ran as smoothly as possible. In fact, at one point, he noticed from behind the booth that we were one man short for lifting someone up in the chair during our extensive Hora. So what did he do? He put his headphones down, ran onto the dance floor, and kept the party going! As a musician and music lover myself, it was hard to trust someone else with the evening’s setlist, but we are so glad we did. He was super keyed into the dance floor, and read the crowd like an expert, always knowing exactly what song to serve up. We danced our asses off and could not have had a better evening. We even rented one of his lighting packages, which he set up to perfection. Herbert, thank you for helping us with our live performances, and for giving us such an incredibly memorable night!!

It’s been three weeks since our wedding, and our guests keep telling us they had a blast on the dance floor. I found that there were so many beautiful parts to my wedding. But when all is said and done, knowing the dance floor was packed the entire night reigns as the most fulfilling part of the night. Herbert kept the energy high … and then higher … and it only kept escalating. He’s talented, and he cared about us and our guests. From the ceremony til the last song, DJ Herbert kept the night flowing and lively. We hired him to be our wedding DJ because we were confident he would know how to balance the night's logistics, interfacing with venue and vendors, special requests from a range of guests and all ages, and bring high energy revelry to create an inclusive and celebratory evening. He spoke with us at length weeks before the event to learn more about our tastes and preferences, and was particularly interested in what we *didn't* want to hear. On the night of the event, our guests danced for nearly four hours straight thanks to DJ Herbert attentiveness to the crowd's vibe. We had plenty of great vendors for our wedding but my wife and I agreed HH was our favorite. Incredibly flexible and easy to work with--you can tell he can put together a great reception with as much or as little guidance as you want to give him. He did for us. Great ability to read the room and keep people moving. Also just "gets it" in terms of how to support the big day for the bride and groom and keep 'em stress free and feeling celebrated. On top of that, just a funny, nice guy. Transparent throughout. Fun to talk music with on the planning calls. Really deep, eclectic knowledge of everything. You won't stump him, and he likely knows just when to play whatever song you throw at him. Lot of comments from our guests saying how much he killed it. Can't go wrong with HH.

DJ HERBERT HOLLER IS THE BEST! Working with Herbert was an absolute dream. We booked him for our wedding after having a phone chat - when we heard he's been DJing dance parties in NYC for the past 20 years, we knew we were in good hands. After our phone chat, we sent him a Spotify playlist to give him an idea of our tastes and that was it. We trusted him completely and it paid off. During the wedding, he nailed our sound cues and then went right into cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. The music was always perfect for the mood - and when it was time for dancing, the dance floor was PACKED all night. He was amazing at reading the crowd's energy and keeping it going all night - and was happy to take requests from our guests. Herbert also came to the venue with his own sound gear and an audio technician, so everything sounded wonderful. We had no sound issues during our ceremony, and the rest of the night the music was loud but you didn't have to scream to be heard. Overall, he was an incredibly chill and lovely person to work with, and we absolutely would love to work with him again soon!

Herbert Holler is the DJ you want for your wedding. Herbert was wonderful to work with, he's extremely professional and most importantly is going to make sure every single person has a good time at your party. Putting on a wedding during COVID (or any time) can certainly be stressful but Herbert is one of vendors you can count on to make sure everything goes smoothly. He also has a wonderful knowledge of music and entertainment and puts all of that on display to make sure guests are engaged and having the most fun possible. When both millennials and boomers are on the dance floor together having a good time, you know the DJ has done a great job.

He was the highlight of our wedding. We have an eclectic group that can be shy and he made sure everybody was dancing and everyone just loved him. The only detail about my wedding reception that I actually had an opinion on was the music. I’ve been to so many affairs that've had amazing food or held at some ridiculous venue and had the makings for a truly memorable occasion, but the DJ was just lame and couldn’t read a crowd or made poor song selections; which ultimately has your guests like “that is a real snoozer”. If you hire Herbert Holler to take care of your music entertainment, everyone will leave saying “that was the greatest time ever”. You could even serve a deli tray and it wouldn’t matter because there would only be time to dance.

Wow- What a fantastic DJ. I was looking for a non conventional DJ that didn't do the traditional wedding DJ schtick. I needed a professional music maker who knew how to read a crowd and get this party going. Herbert Holler is it. And what a pleasant working experience. From the moment of our first consult he was a calm and flexible partner. He listened to what we wanted and then went off and created the party of a lifetime. EVERYONE at the party loved the music, from 16 years old to 60. It was a finely crafted seamless music experience. Simply put- You need to hire this guy!

DJ Herbert Holler -- To say he was wonderful is an understatement. A rare find is a DJ who is both receptive (and patient) to many wish lists of song requests - spanning 4 cultural backgrounds - while finding a way to seamlessly mix these in throughout the night so the dance floor was always full. Beyond the exceptional music, Herbert was incredibly responsive and helped us logistically map out the evening. He asked a lot of questions in advance and was available to answer anything we needed (…and I sent a lot of emails...). We had compliments all night about the music. Could not recommend more highly!

We happened to give Herbert a ton of music feedback for our Jewish x Haitian wedding, and he absolutely nailed it. We went on a musical journey from the Horah to hip hop to reggae to Haitian zouk to wedding classics to karaoke. Name your style, and he’ll do his research and deliver. The best outcome is when people gravitate to the dance floor without thinking “Huh? That was a weird transition.” On the contrary, Herbert’s set was smooth, flowed organically, and his transitions between songs were technically on point 100% of the time. In conclusion, please put your wedding in Herbert’s capable hands! He really took the time to understand what we were going for, and he exceeded our expectations 1000%. Our guests (who are biased) loved what DJ Herbert Holler brought to our wedding day. Herbert was known to us because of his history at LPR in NYC. I knew he’d come out and bring a great party. So, we hired him to make our wedding the best ever. Then COVID hit and we had to scale down everything. We brought down the guest list and what we saw our wedding to be. However, we couldn’t have been more wrong. Herbert still brought a great party and he brought it all together for an unforgettable party. Herbert was great to work with along the way as well. Herbert was willing to go above and beyond to help make the ceremony and reception happen. He’s reliable, dependable, and flexible. He was willing to play whichever songs we wanted and he has an ear for context. The whole night was a constant build and afterwards guests were commenting on how great the music was for the reception. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for the night.

One goal for our wedding reception was an awesome dance party. We were familiar with DJ Herbert Holler from a few events and knew we could trust him with our big day, so as soon as we got engaged we reached out.  Thank goodness he was available as he created the dance party we dreamed of.  Guests young and old were commenting and complimenting the music and he kept it going all night!  He was super easy to work with, responsive and helped us with our schedule, song list and emceed. Let me start off by saying we are the worst kind of couple. We are the absolute most difficult to deal with when it comes to music. It meant everything to us. So when I say that Herbert took our crazy in stride and still exceeded our expectations, it really is an incredible feat. I’m a (former) DJ myself and I can attest that the most important aspect is that your DJ keeps your dancefloor moving. This is where Herbert excels. He took both a spreadsheet from my wife and a Spotify playlist from me (organized by BPM of course) and created an evening that hit all our various tastes. We also had some unique sound equipment needs that he was easily able to address. Furthermore, when he rocks up on the mic he rocks the mic (right!). The number of compliments we received from guests is just a testament to his skill set. In his credible mixing hands, we were able to not worry and go about enjoying our evening. It is without hesitation that we can recommend Herbert to provide the soundtrack to the most wonderful evening of your lives.

I booked Herbert after speaking with him over the phone. Crazy, I know! But I immediately felt at ease. My husband and I had a very casual, nontraditional reception and he seemed to get the vibe we wanted right away. One of the best decisions we made! Not only did he keep our friends and family dancing all night, but he was professional, easygoing and rolled with the punches ensuring things went seamlessly. We highly recommend him!!

WOW. Just, WOW. Your search for your DJ is over. His name is Herbert Holler. Herbert was recommended to us for our wedding, and what can we say - he made our reception the greatest get-down we ever could have imagined. Let us just say this: Herbert KILLED it. From day one, we wanted our wedding to be a giant dance party, and he delivered several times over. The dance floor was never empty. I mean, never - from 6:30 PM to last call before midnight, Herbert seamlessly navigated our varied request list (which ranged from oldies, soul and funk to New Orleans big brass jazz, trap, 90s/00s rap and hip hop and everything in between) and he augmented it with his own selections perfectly. And the multi-generational crowd was moving all night long as a result. From our first introductory call with him, he was straightforward about his creative process which made everything for us SUPER easy and stressless. He was always accessible, attentive and responsive. He worked with us to meet our budgetary needs, and he gave us solid guidance along the way. At the end of the wedding night, and in the following days/weeks, dozens of guests commented on how epic the DJ was. Because he was epic. We can't recommend him enough. Seriously - he'll make your wedding everything you ever wanted it to be and more.

My guests commented that they loved the music - we had a mix of Irish traditional, 80's pop, some country and HH definitely made an effort to use all our music genres and sew them together. I had a great time dancing and I know my guests did too.

Herbert Holler made our wedding reception such an incredibly fun time. Everyone was dancing all night and a VERY discerning relative took me aside and said "this music is great". DJ Herbert was a pleasure to work with and played great music that we loved. He played such a cool mix of awesome tunes, some things I knew I wanted, and some other really pleasant surprises. Before the event we just told him what kinds of music we liked, we gave him a "do not play" list, and let him do the rest. And it was perfect. Imagine the coolest person you know and now imagine their favorite playlist, and that's what he played. The volume was perfect, lowering for when courses we're served and people were eating, and getting higher for times when everyone was up dancing. It was never too loud. And when it was time for announcements (such as first dance, speeches, etc.), he was great. He wasn't like one of those DJs that takes the mic at a wedding and starts yelling and carrying on and taking over the event (I've seen too many of those). Everything was so tastefully done. And beyond cool and fun. He helped elevate our reception. He made it into the greatest party. We were so happy that we had DJ Herbert at our wedding.

I wish I could give Herbert Holler 10 stars for how absolutely wonderful he was - 5 stars don't do him justice! We were desperately in need of a DJ at the last minute, and everything about Herbert's profile and website screamed "WORK WITH HIM!" to me. Somehow, miraculously, he was able to accommodate our date - and I am so, SO thankful to him, because our wedding music was absolute and utter ****perfection****. Herbert is a true DJ's DJ - his music knowledge is broad and expansive, and his taste is impeccable. I sent him a list of songs that represented the style and tone of the music that we wanted for our wedding, and he absolutely knocked it out of the ballpark at the event. He even managed to nail the father/daughter dance song, where I asked him to start with a more traditional song and then switch to a Ben Folds Five song 30 seconds in - my father got a huge kick out of it, and I was just delighted with how well Herbert pulled this special request off for me! If you are looking for a talented, professional, hilarious and EXTREMELY chill DJ for your wedding (or any event - Herbert also founded the longest-running old school dance party in NYC!), then I really, really can't recommend Herbert Holler enough. Herbert and I go way back- 2002. However, he didn't know this until I booked him for our wedding on 9/17/17. I danced many Friday nights away at his, 'Freedom Friday' parties in NYC. When I saw that he also DJ's Weddings booking him was a no brainier- and thank heavens he was not booked. In true Herbert Holler fashion, our guests, along with the bride and groom, did not leave the dance floor- well only to go to the bar to re-up on a drink :-). Our wedding was held on a Sunday at 11 AM and Herbert kept the crowd on their feet! I am sure people will talk about how much fun they had at our wedding for years to come! I recommend Herbert to all future brides and grooms who want to have a great time at their reception :-).

Herbert is the best! He met with us prior to the wedding to discuss our vision. He was super enthusiastic to DJ our multicultural wedding and really listened to all the different requests we had in order to merge the two cultures.After that initial meeting, I felt so comfortable with having him be our DJ/MC and he really proved himself to be the best the day of the wedding. He has a real gift of reading the crowd and knowing what to play to keep the party going. Everyone was on the dance floor and we really did dance the night away. We even ended up going to his gig, The Freedom Party, for the afterparty because we didn't want the night to end. Our friends and family can't stop talking about how amazing the music was at our wedding and we have Herbert to thank for that! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ!

Herbert Holler is an awesome pick for any of your DJ needs. Not only is he a lover of all kinds of music, he's able to read the audience and know what they respond to extremely well. Additionally, he is super professional and amazingly warm and kind. By the time he DJ'ed our wedding, I felt like I was having a family friend behind the DJ table, taking care of all of our getting down needs. And while I would blindly trust his musical taste, he definitely aims to please specifically to your needs. DJ Herbert Holler was incredible! He is the ultimate professional. During our initial meeting, he took time to get to know us, as opposed to "selling" himself. Music and reception experience were the most important wedding elements to me. In the planning process, this was TOP priority. And we could not have made a better choice. DJ Herbert really made our wedding special. Everyone (and I mean everyone) was on the dance floor. There were dance battles, solos, Conga lines, and more :) He played the best mix of music that all our guests enjoyed, and once the party got started, I never left the dance floor. I danced so hard that I tore my dress! He was the best. Hopefully, he will DJ my vow renewals!!

He was so in tune with what music we wanted played at our reception... The connection was awesome. Very nice guy easy to work with very professional great sense of humor.;He is pricier than most run of the mill DJs but very much worth it.
