This place is under new ownership and I would strongly NOT RECOMMEND them. We ordered a tent and some tables and chairs for our small, backyard wedding and had 4 MAJOR ISSUES with them.
1. Emailed us 5 days before the wedding asking to change ...the tent size - Very unprofessional and added unnecessary stress to my wedding.
2. Spray painted our whole yard – When the person came to check for wires, he spray painted our entire yard, up and down, with bright red, orange, and green paint. When I told Harriet’s, they put the blame solely on the company that did that, which is incredibly immature. They are the ones who hire this company and should take full responsibility for what they do.
3. Emailed 3 days before the wedding to tell us they were setting everything up that day – Our contract said one day before the wedding. We certainly did not want our entire backyard unavailable for 3 extra days prior to the wedding. Again, they added unnecessary stress during an otherwise very happy time in our lives.
4. The BIGGEST ISSUE is that they WITHELD INFORMATION from us about the size that we would need for the tent. They only told us the dimensions of the tent but didn’t tell us that they would need many feet on either side as well as 18 inches from any wires. Our original tent size wouldn’t have fit at all. Even with the smaller tent, the new info meant that we could not have the tent where we wanted it. (We could have fit it smack in the middle of the yard but that would have interfered with the ceremony). We ended up simply not using the tent, the weather was lovely, and we had a wonderful wedding, no thanks to them.
When I called them to discuss these issues, they placed blame on others and did not take any responsibility for their mistakes. In conclusion, I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT USING HARRIETS FOR ANY OF YOUR TENT NEEDS.
