Wedding Reception/hotel stayReviewed on 3/17/2015
We had our son and daughter-in-law's reception here and without Stuart I would not have made it through! He was my wedding planner for the wedding planner! My daughter-in-law and myself planned the wedding with Stuart and everything was awesome! We even had the band figured out to be outside on the deck (but it rained :( ) The food was delicious! The only negative thing I told Stuart was the A/C in the ballroom was not sufficient enough during the reception and it needed to be fixed. so hopefully during the renovation that took place, that was taken care of. They took all the gifts for us and locked them up until the next morning. The staff was very attentive and I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding and/or reception! We had a ball at the pool too!
Beautiful venue and the best staff possible! Our wedding was the weekend after Irma and you never would have known. The place was spotless and the staff all treated us better than we could've asked for. Dawn the coordinator made things easy from day 1 and our big day would not of been possible without her help and the countless times she went out of her way to make our day exactly what we wanted!
We got married on the Bullhead Lawn May 14, 2016 with the reception in the same location. It was absolutely everything I had ever imagined and more. All of our guests kept telling us it was the best wedding they've been to! The ocean backdrop was so beautiful!! The best part of the Marriott though, is Stuart Davis!!! From the time we toured to hotel down to the day of Stuart was amazing! He always returned emails promptly (even when there were several a day the week before) I even have pictures of him fixing my sister's hair right before we walked down the aisle! Overall everything was amazing and better than expected and all because of Stuart!!! I would recommend this location to everyone. Also, for the price you get a lot. We did the buffet and there was soooo much delicious food. Definitely worth the price!

They defined the reason as to why Marriott is one of the BEST hotel chains. The customer service was amazing! I can't wait to go back on our anniversary-my husband only wants to stay here!
Absolutely perfect!!!Reviewed on 7/05/2013 Alicia K
The Marriott, Melanie, the spa, and all of their staff provided us with the most wonderful setting for our wedding. Everything exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were excellent for our guests. Everyone had a fantastic time. The Marriott created memories for us that we will never forget. Thank you for making our day so special!!! We look forward to coming back to the Marriott for our anniversary for many years!!!
Gorgeous hotel, unreliable staffReviewed on 6/02/2013 Megan K
Everyone recommended the Marriott in Hilton Head to be the host hotel for our wedding guests. We already decided not to do our wedding at a hotel but it seemed to be the best hotel for everyone to stay at since it was right on the beach and had a really nice pool deck and a lot of other amenities. Once I got connected with the sales team for the room block it became very frustrating. While everyone was very nice, they dropped the ball multiple times on important details. First, I told them when I was sending out my save-the-dates and confirmed the reservation number was correct. (This was after the room block was confirmed, the contract was signed, and we put our credit card down for payment.) Once I got the thumbs up from the sales person at the Marriott that the information was correct, I sent out the save-the-date cards. My best friend called me right after she received it and said the room block was not available. I called the Marriott and they said it wouldn't be available for taking reservations until October (this was July!). They never once mentioned that in the contract or on the phone and asked me if I could simply send out an email to all my guests and let them know. To some people I guess that's not a big deal, but I'm a planner and try to have all the details figured out so it's not confusing for people. After I tried to politely ask them to expedite our room block and get it activated, they continued to tell me how their process worked and that the one person who handled room blocks wasn't able to do it. That conversation turned into a heated argument where I explained that I would've understood if they just would've told me BEFORE I sent out all the information to the guests. Now that the guests had the info, I wanted them to be able to make reservations if they wished. I finally got them to make the exception and get it done that day, but it was not an easy process. That was my biggest issue, but we also had a few other hiccups while we were there, like not all of our guests received our welcome gift bags upon check-in like they promised. And they told me they would send me an updated reservation list monthly and weekly as we got closer to the event, but they never actually sent anything unless I emailed them first requesting it. (Although she was very responsive when I did email her.) Also, my future in-laws room had a broken AC unit and it took them a few hours to find a solution. A maintenance man said he'd return to fix it and never did, so after they waited an hour, we finally just asked for a new room which was provided. Those were a few of the issues we had, but they did upgrade our standard suite to a gorgeous, HUGE suite that came in very handy with getting ready and accommodating a lot of people for meals and such. Also, we had an impromptu "get together" after dinner in our suite one night and we were pretty loud. The security guy was incredibly nice when he asked us to be quiet (which was totally understandable). Overall, our guests had an amazing time at the hotel and LOVED the pool, bar, restaurants, and the service. It was all worth it but it was just a bit of a headache for the one who was planning it! :) I'm just glad we didn't have to plan the whole wedding there. I would definitely go back and stay at the property if I needed a hotel in the area.

We had a wonderful experience with our room block at the HHI Marriott. They worked with us to make our group's experience affordable and special. Everyone had a wonderful stay, and our honeymoon suite was amazing!
Perfect!Reviewed on 7/26/2012 Stephanie L
The Marriott was a beautiful venue for our wedding. The staff (especially Melainie) were so helpful, and they put up with all my bridal craziness. The food was delicious, too! My one complaint would be that they printed the price on the menus for our prepaid rehearsal dinner, and all of the guests could see how much the meal cost. Slightly embarrassing. Otherwise, a wonderful experience!!
Absolutely PerfectReviewed on 6/21/2012 Ashley D
There is no other word other than "perfect" to describe my recent wedding experience at the Marriott Resort & Spa. Melainie, the on-site wedding coordinator, was essential in how smoothly the day-of went. For months, she made sure to keep track of every detail and discuss all of my many questions to ensure that I felt comfortable with every decision. She was helpful and always more than happy to talk about the details with me. I felt like I was being taken care of 100% by her from the first day to the last. Guests were allowed to park without any hassle and find both the ceremony and reception locations very easily. We were blessed with great weather, but the resort was ready for any backups necessary if it were not so. Each staff member went above and beyond to make our experience so wonderful and for that we are very grateful and cannot wait to return in future years to relive the memories! The hotel itself was beautiful and offered a wonderful view of the ocean upon arriving in the main lobby. I couldn't have nicer things to say about every single staff member either. From the front desk, to the Conroy's bar, to the gift shop, to staff members I passed in the hallway, the friendly and welcoming attitudes of each person showed that the Marriott truly cares about who they have working at their resort. The day of my wedding, I had a question for the front desk and the person (I wish I would have written his name down!) I spoke with congratulated me on my wedding as he was answering my questions. As I was walking down the hall, he came after me and wanted to apologize for not taking more time to extend his congratulations and told me to call the front desk for anything and everything we might need that day. This was just one example of the kind of customer service the hotel offers and they really do stand behind their motto. All in all, my husband and I will be back and are looking forward to all of our future trips there.

This hotel was booked by our out of town guest. We were able to secure a shuttle for the evening for a nominal fee. This hotel allowed other wedding guest to park at the hotel and take the shuttle to and from the beach house wedding location. The front desk manager was fabulous, the catering manager is not as accomodating.
Great ServiceReviewed on 10/08/2011 non e
Loved the hotel! The service was great! We even got free valet parking the whole time for being newlyweds! (didn't hurt that our car said "Just Married!")!
Couldn't have asked for a better venueReviewed on 9/08/2011 Stephanie H
The Marriott Resort and Spa in Hilton Head was a dream location to have my wedding! From touring the venue to choosing it and having my wedding there it was a breeze. Melainie Allen, the wedding coordinator for the hotel was awesome with communicating and making sure that everything went perfect on our day. I didn't have to worry about a thing on the Marriotts side of things. She even helped us with the ceremony on the beach which she did not have to do. Melainie went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. If you want to feel confident I highly reccomend the Hilton Head Marriott Resort and Spa. The amenities are better than any other resort on the island and you and your guests will love it!

We had a beautiful wedding at the Marriott. Outdoor ceremony on the veranda and reception in the breakfast room. Guests loved Hilton Head and the Marriott did a great job. Helped with the entire wedding, from distributing gift bags to guests, to ceremony and pictures on local golf course and then great reception. Food was excellent and Melainie was a great help.
My wedding at Hilton Head Marriott Resort & SpaReviewed on 7/19/2011 Kelly V
I had a great experience getting married at the Hilton Head Resort and Spa. Melainie, the event coordinator, was extremely organized, easy to work with and did a great job. My wedding day was very relaxed - all of the planning that Melainie and her staff did eliminated alot of stress. She also reccommended really good vendors that know the property well and had a good relationship with her team. That also made things run smoothly. The hotel's lawn, which is adjacent to the beach, where they do the ceremony is a perfect setting, as you get to have a "beach wedding", without all of the distractions, noise and public atmosphere you would have if it were on the beach. I liked the way the guests could look out onto the ocean, but it was still private. Finally, having the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all in the same place, where the guests were staying, made it really fun for everyone. No worries about timing, transportation, etc. I had perfect day, and was really happy with the whole thing!
Hilton Head Marriot Resport & Spa made my WeddingReviewed on 7/18/2011 Lindsay E
The Hilton Head Marriot Resort and Spa was the perfect place to have my wedding reception. Many of our guests stayed at the resort and loved every minute of their stay. If you are looking for beach atmosphere for your wedding, this is definitely the place to have it. As soon as you walk into the front doors of the Resort, you see the ocean, it is just beautiful! Everyone who works at the Resort are very pleasant as well. Melainie, the wedding coordinator made sure that all the details were perfect on the wedding day and was so great to work with. I did not have to stress about anything on the wedding day when it came to the table placements, food, DJ, cake, and she even took care of handling the florist when she arrived late with the center pieces. It was great! I also scheduled pedicures for me, my Mom and Matron of Honor the day before the wedding at the Spa and it was just a wonderful experience. No doubt about it, this is the place to have your wedding on Hilton Head Island!
