In my experience, not many people can honestly say they had the perfect wedding. Thanks in large part to Rosemont, I am one person who can.
My husband and I wanted a beautiful outdoor place to get married, in the scenic Shenandoah. We wanted... to find somewhere in Virginia convenient to airports and hotels, since both of our families would be traveling from diverse states.
We scheduled the First Lady Wedding package at Rosemont. Working with Rosemont made planning our wedding probably as stress-free as such an endeavor could be. Staying in one location all weekend—for the rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception—gave the whole weekend a wonderful sense of self-containment and continuity. And the historical beauty of the house is not to be rivaled.
We ended up doing a rehearsal dinner inside, with our wedding out on the lawn, and the reception in the gorgeous Carriage House. Each event had its own distinct flavor, but each was surpassingly elegant and lovely, and a perfect reflection of our taste and style. The wedding out on the lawn was absolutely amazing and beautiful. The grounds made for absolutely stunning wedding photos. The Carriage House, decked out in fairy lights, candles, and old-fashioned barn lanterns was perfect, exactly the picture I had in my mind.
Rosemont partners with Celebrations Catering, which meant we didn’t have to look for or test out caterers; an excellent one was built right in, and Celebrations and Rosemont work together very well, coordinating table linens, chairs, tables, decorations, menus, and layouts.
We got married on a fall afternoon, and were very lucky to have perfect weather and stunning golden light. Our photographers took pictures of us separately getting ready, and here’s something I hadn’t anticipated when planning the wedding: The preparation photos are almost as good as the ceremony ones, with the Rosemont suites as backdrops. (The dapper groomsmen in the red Churchill suite, and the demure bridesmaids in the sunny Eisenhower suite.) They’re lovely intimate portraits.
We had a lot of family and large wedding parties, but we were able to house all our immediate family at the Rosemont itself for the entire weekend. Some of our close friends and the rest of the wedding party were able to stay in the houses on the grounds, which was very convenient and cozy for everyone. It was perfect. Having everything in one place allowed me (and everyone else in the wedding party and family) to remain calmer than we would have any other way.
We didn’t have to rush around driving anywhere, nothing important got lost or left behind, and we all loved running into and out of each others’ rooms getting ready. The suites are so beautiful and comfortable that it was like being at a luxurious hotel, but with the cozy intimacy of staying at someone’s house. It’s as if, for this weekend, you miraculously inherit a gorgeous estate, run by family who want nothing more than to see you happy.
I would highly recommend anyone get married this way. The First Lady Package offers a wonderful value; having family housed all in one place was priceless, the house itself is beautiful, and the scenery is unmatched. The experience is one I will treasure, and the photos are gems that will last forever. I had no idea a wedding could be all at once beautiful and perfect, and also so calm and so much fun. Rosemont is a perfect place to have
