Where Your Oregon Dream Wedding Comes to Life
Congratulations on your engagement, we would love to be of service to you!
We host weddings from the second weekend in May till the first weekend in October on either Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays!
Let us provide to you and the one you love the perfect venue and setting for your outdoor wedding ceremony and reception! Choose your own personal wedding site from three separate and distinct areas, with all areas offering spectacular and picturesque scenery. Whether it's an area with a large wooden stage at the lake's edge framed in by trees, an area besides a lake surrounded by trees and featuring a 160 feet long waterfall feature, or an area nestled in the woods along the creek, all are at a very affordable cost. Because we are secluded in a beautiful canyon, even though you're just 20 miles west of Portland you'll feel like you're in an enchanted world that is all your own. Each area is very large, and included in each are 80 chairs and 10 movable tables (with linens), and since the tables seat 10 each with 80 chairs and 10 tables you already have a cake and reception table. In each area is a very nice covered area that can hold at least 130 with a dance floor area, power, water, BBQ, built in buffet tables, an arbor and a dressing area and tiled restrooms. If your wedding needs more tables and chairs this can easily be arranged, for our smallest area can hold at least 250 people!
For all of this Friday or Saturday weddings are only $4,350! For Sunday the areas are only $3,850, a $500 discount (2024 prices)!
We don’t do catering, so you can bring in anybody you want or do it yourselves; same with alcohol. Both of these options make your wedding even more affordable! Most wedding ceremony and reception facilities only rent for a few hours, but not here. We understand that your wedding day is one of the most important and meaningful days of your life, and when you reserve an area it's yours for the entire day from 11 AM till 9:30 AM the following day! We can offer this because we have a camping option available. Each area has its very own large, private group camp site where you can stay till 11 AM, and is available for a group rate of only $275.
Also for your convenience we hold Thursdays open any time after 4 PM for rehearsals at no extra charge, and for those that have a Friday wedding date you can start to set up on Thursday, a half day extra for free! People are surprised with all we provide for such a low cost, but as a family-operated park, our philosophy is that we don't think that families that are just starting out should have to go into debt their first day together! We have done many weddings, so if you have any additional needs we can be a very useful resource to help you with your planning. We now also offer a minister on site if you need one! Here at Horning’s Hideout is very unique, so you, your family and friends can relax and spend your entire wedding day creating memories!

Horning’s Hideout was a stunning venue for our wedding day, especially the Lakeside setting. The scenery was breathtaking, with vibrant hanging flower baskets, peacocks roaming the grounds, and twinkling string lights, all of which made the space feel magical. We didn’t feel the need to add much in terms of decorations beyond the tables—we embraced the natural beauty of the location.
Since this was my first time booking a venue, I wasn’t sure what’s typically included in the base price, but it’s worth noting that Horning’s Hideout does have additional fees for things like Wi-Fi (there’s no cell service at the venue), extra tables and chairs, wedding insurance, a PA system, and more. While these weren’t deal breakers for us, it’s something to be aware of if you’re new to wedding planning.
One great perk is that you can bring your own alcohol without needing an OLCC bartender, though wedding insurance is required. The venue also offers unique options like camping for large parties, disc golf, and paddle boat rentals, which we used for some adorable photos!
The overall experience was magical, and our guests absolutely loved the venue. If you book a Friday wedding, like we did, you get access from Thursday evening for your rehearsal through Saturday at 9 a.m., which was incredibly convenient for setting up and leaving things overnight.
The staff did seem a bit tense toward the end of the night, but in fairness, we had a few overly enthusiastic (and drunk) guests. Despite that, I really appreciated their patience and their excellent communication throughout the planning process and on the day of the event.
We had our wedding here and loved it! We had the Creekside area, and it was incredibly lush. It's such a gorgeous venue and felt truly magical. Bob is friendly, informative, and straightforward. Very helpful and easy to work with. Overall, would definitely recommend!
Absolutely stunning venue. Gorgeous and numerous locations for photos, incredible greenery. Plenty of space for a mid-sized wedding (150-200), and Horning's provided all the supplies we needed. Changing room for the ladies is a tad small and dusty, but we made it work with a tablecloth to cover the floor.
Any questions?
Bob was great. Very accommodating and helpful. His venue was beautiful! And it was really great to have the venue for the whole night, exactly what we wanted!
Bob Horning made our wedding so easy and enjoyable! He really understood what was important to us—creating a fun event full of love and with minimal stress. We paid for camping and were pleasantly surprised at how many people wanted to camp! It was wonderful to be able to party late, crash a short walk away, and clean up the next morning. The videos on Horning's Hideout really tell you everything you need to know, but Bob was also very responsive. And when our tire blew on the way to tour the venue, he was flexible and accommodating.
Horning's Hideout is a BEAUTIFUL setting and was perfect for what we wanted. Bob is great to work with - communicative, punctual, organized, and accommodating. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding than the one we had here :)
Having our wedding at Horning’s Hideout was amazing! Bob and his team were so easy to work with. He gave clear instructions and information on how the day would go and what we would need to move forward. The day ended up so beautiful and we’re so happy we had our wedding there. Thank you!
Bob was great. He was communicative, and really helpful with suggestions throughout. He was there on our wedding day, guided guests, uber drivers, and us! The venue itself was beautiful and clean, and the price is unbeatable if you're looking for an affordable venue. Highly recommend getting married at the creekside location!
Horning's Hideout was absolutely fantastic! The location was gorgeous, the perfect backdrop for an outdoor Oregon wedding. The pictures don't do the place justice! There is plenty of space and we didn't even realize other weddings were going on elsewhere on site. Bob and his team were very helpful and friendly, and always quick to respond to any questions we had. Vendors were also able to get to the space with ease. One note: it will be difficult to get Uber/Lyft out there for pickups, so set up transportation ahead of time. You can leave your car overnight, so we had a party bus pick up everyone, and it worked out great.
We couldn't imagine a better location to get married.
The grounds themselves are very beautiful but there are a lot of negative things to consider before booking.
First off, Bob (the owner) is only about that money and he will add on a bunch of extra fees to the base price before the wedding. And even after the wedding, I think we left of couple of items behind and he was emailing us early the next day saying we were going to get charged some sort of storage fee if the items weren't removed that day by 12 noon or something.
Second; you would think for all the money you pay to rent the grounds, you could pretty much do what you want with the place (within reason). Not a Horning's Hideout, you can't. Because Bob will be there on your big day in his golf cart to enforce an insanely long list of rules. His presence just felt very invasive on a day that should just be about friends and family. Absolutely do not put any money down until you've read all the paperwork.
As far as more practical matters go... There's nowhere to get dressed. I'm the groom and I had to get dressed under the stage with no cover while standing in inches of mud. One slip, and my suit would have been ruined for the day. There is one tiny room under the stage that my wife used for getting ready but it's really nothing to even speak of and there's no running water in it. Which leads me to...
The bathrooms! The only bathrooms on the site are rustic and and a good 50 yard walk (at least) uphill and away from the site of the ceremony. This is not ideal for anyone trying to do any last-minute primping. And if there is anyone (elderly or otherwise) who might be in a wheelchair; I just don't see this working at all.
The location of the grounds is, in itself, remote. But sometimes that's sort of the point.
And lastly, I know this has nothing to do with anything the hosts can control but do heed my warning. We got married on June 17th and it was an absolute torrential downpour the first half of the day which left the grounds in such a muddy condition that people were slipping and sliding all over the place. I would personally recommend waiting until July to book any outdoor wedding in Oregon so that it's not so much of a crapshoot weather-wise.
To sum it up, put Horning's on your 'maybe' list. But I'd keep looking around.
P.S. Bob, the grounds owner, is the one who contacted me and asked me to write a review... Which obviously I did. And because the review was only mediocre, he contacted both The Knot and Wedding Wire and tried to dispute it! I'm only including this because I want you to truly know who you're dealing with here and just what type of person he is.
Beautiful venue and affordable! Communication was always super informative and timely too, which made the process easier.
Absolutely gorgeous venue, the stage area was very clean, and great views of the water. The camping area was great for overnight guests. Besides the rain, it was a magical day and we are very thankful for Bob and all of his hard work to make our wedding day special!
Bob is very approachable and responsive. He lets you access the venue to measure and plan in detail. There are two things I remember the most when interacting with Bob. First, him not penalizing me for the missing check in the mail. I was able to drop it off in person. Second, when I was getting dressed after setting up the venue, the DJ showed up and forgot to miss their table, and Bob immediately brought an additional table for the DJ all during my absence. Thank you Bob for all your help.
We got married at the Creekside area of Horning’s Hideout. We hit it off with Bob(the owner) upon meeting him for the initial tour and we booked right away.
Horning’s is a wonderful outdoor spot and the Creekside location truly is a magical setting for a wedding. Bob can connect you to other vendors as much or as little as you would like. He’s very friendly and responds promptly to questions or concerns. It ended up raining a bit on our big day and Bob made sure the chairs were dry for our guests.
One of the biggest perks to booking at Horning’s is that you get your spot for the whole day, so there’s no hectic logistics with set-up and tear-down. Bob has all the tables, chairs and linens, so you don’t need to rent them elsewhere.
There’s lots of beautiful spots for photos and while there will likely be other weddings on the property at the same time, your site is private and secluded. There were 2 other weddings on our day and we wouldn’t have otherwise known.
I started my wedding search on Instagram. I googled "weddingsporland" and this venue popped up. I'll admit, When I originally viewed their website and instagram page, I wasn't too impressed. I thought this was more of a "Concert" venue than wedding. I then went back to instagram and looked at their tagged photos and saw one that inspired us to drive out there.
Approaching the venue, I felt like I was lost and wasn't sure if it was the right area, I felt like I was driving through people's property until I made it to my destination. The Lush smells of the woods hit me the second we got to the venue. The Peacocks were so beautiful and owned this property. When we got there, I was told there are 3 different wedding sites and we toured all three. My husband and I had intimate wedding which was around 80 people. The "Creekside" Venue was absolutely beautiful. We knew the second we went down there that this was the spot we needed to have for our wedding. The creek was beautiful, the pond, the TREES WERE SO BIG AND BEAUTIFUL! Everything was just perfect. There is RV parking, Camping and hotels that are roughly 20 minutes shy of the venue. Food was catered, we did have to purchase something to have an open bar. Bob had every question answered the second it was asked. Exceptional host for this place. This Venue is a literal hidden gem and nothing but compliments came to use about the wedding venue we selected. I suppose if you are a "heavy" partier, this place may not meet your standards due to the check in time the day of to set up (unless wedding is on a friday) and you have to do the clean up the next day. For us, It was the best and accommodated our needs for a spectacular wedding. I'd give 10 stars because of how special our wedding memories are, but unfortunately it only allows 5.
The area was beautiful, Bob was very helpful with the weather change and was on top of letting us know the showers were to be expected around the time we were ending our reception so everything worked out wonderfully. He was very prompt and answered any questions we had.
Our wedding day was truly beautiful, the forest vibe we wanted for our wedding was just there!🤍🌲
Thank you Bob for helping us with everything!
They are great,I recommend!
The location was beautiful! We got married at the Main Stage, and it was perfect for what we wanted to do. There was so much space that we could have food, dancing, lawn games, a "kids' corner," and camping. As the owners said, we couldn't hear the other weddings going on at the same time, so it really felt like we had a private little spot in the woods. The owner was also very responsive, especially day-of: the power was shut off for fire prevention, and he immediately went out and grabbed generators and set them up in time for the ceremony.
Bob Horning was awesome. The venue is absolutely beautiful with so many photo opportunities and very flexible. This place was the best choice we could’ve possibly made.
Horning’s Hideout is the best!! I knew I wanted an outdoor wedding in the woods so when we toured Horning’s Hideout as our first venue tour, I knew we didn’t need to look any further, it was perfect! Very reasonably priced in my opinion for what you get. The owner, Bob, is fantastic. His personality is awesome, he’s laid back and super quick at communicating. Best part is that you get the venue all night, they don’t kick you out at a certain time so you can party all night if you want to. We chose the creek side location and it was stunning, everything I could’ve dreamt of and more, but all the locations are beautiful. I’m so thankful that we went with Horning’s hideout, can’t recommend them enough!!
When we booked our wedding at Horning's Hideout we had no idea that a global pandemic was on the horizon. Not only did Bob provide us with a gorgeous venue, he provided us with peace of mind. Being the worrier that I am, I was extremely thankful to work with someone that genuinely cared and put up with all my questions!
As I am sure many have experienced, COVID put a lot of big speed bumps into our path for our wedding. We had to not only change our DJ, date, and catering, but we also had to change our venue. Little did we know that having a new venue was a blessing in disguise! We found Horning's Hideout and it was incredible! The scenery, the calmness, and quiet in the area made for a beautiful back drop to our special day. Bob Horning is awesome at communicating and so helpful. Anyone who is looking for a secluded getaway spot to hold a special day, I would HIGHLY recommend Horning's Hideout.
Horning's Hideout was the perfect venue! All of our guests loved the beautiful scenery and the Horning family were gracious hosts.
Bob was so easy to work with. Our plans changed drastically because of the pandemic, and Bob went with the punches and informed us as things changed. He is so nice and truely loves making his family's land the start of many happily ever afters!
Beautiful venue! Bob was so friendly to work with, everyone had a wonderful time! The lakeside area was clean and well maintained. We couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.
Bob Horning was helpful from the start - touring us around the property and answering all our questions throughout the planning process. Even during a pandemic, he was responsive and gave us options to work with. We ended up keeping our wedding date and condensing our guest list to host a beautiful, intimate outdoor ceremony and reception at Horning's Hideout. Bob came by to check on things and tidy the bathrooms throughout the event, and he was very kind and helpful on our day - even going as far to keep an eye out for the groom by radioing the entrance and letting me know when the coast was clear so I could run around in between hair and makeup. We had shopped around a lot of venues, and this was definitely worth while for all the space and time you get.
From the moment we signed the contract to last hour of our event, Bob was there making sure everything was perfect. Horning's Hideout was magical and we could not have asked for a better venue. My daughter wanted the perfect rustic wedding and it was delivered. It was almost magical, the weather was perfect and location was perfect. The wedding was at Creekside all three locations were available but we loved having the ceremony by the creek and then the reception was under the patio and the dining tables were in the grass area. The patio was beautiful all lit up with lights - We were able to dance the night away. We even had our rehearsal dinner at the venue, luckily our caterer was able to cater our dinner - it was lovely eating with our wedding party at the venue.
In a year that brought so much chaos and uncertainty, Bob Horning was dedicated to personally reaching out to us every step of the way to ensure we (and our guests) felt safe and comfortable. He went above and beyond our expectations for a venue and our magical day could not have happened without him. Horning's Hideout is beautiful and accommodating and we would recommend this venue to any couple looking for an outdoor wedding.
Beautiful venue. Bob was wonderful! Very helpful.
Bob was excellent to work with and the venue was everything we had imagined and more. The website is a bit outdated but I was blown away with how beautiful the venue was in person. Bob runs a tight ship and is helpful in all aspects of wedding planning. We made the leap for a destination wedding and booked Horning’s Hideout Creekside sight unseen, it was a fantastic decision and I have not had a moment of regret.
We loved the forest like space and the freedom
We were at the Lakeside area and it was perfect. Everyone couldn’t compliment us enough on our venue and the beautiful setting. Bob was great to work with and great with communication. The venue was well kept and ran like a well-oiled machine! Couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. And you won’t be able to beat the price. Amazing!!
Literally couldn't ask for a better host. Bob was raised at Horning's Hideout and has slowly turned his property into the most beautiful venue and he truly knows it like the back of his hand. He is super helpful, kind, and great to communicate with.
The venue is absolutely gorgeous. There was 2 other weddings going on in other parts of the property and we didn't hear a peep. Our guests were delighted to party all night and camp there.
It was perfect.
Beautiful venue! We were at the Creekside location. The grounds are kept up very well and parking is near by. It's so magical with all the trees and the creek right next to the ceremony space. Exactly what we were looking for!
I would advise renting your own table cloths as the ones they supply are removed at 10pm even if your reception isn't over yet. So just work that into your overall budget. Also, set up is allowed as early as 11am. So make sure you have a lot of helping hands to get that done quickly as 11 is a late set up time.
Other than that- no complaints. It was a wonderful day- beautiful venue! Highly recommend!
Overall was great experience. The chairs and tables that you have to use from the venue were not cleaned and had old food & drink left on them from the weekend before! Other than that, awesome!
Horning's Hideout is a beautiful outdoor venue to get married at. Bob was really helpful when it came to our every changing guest number, he made sound equipment available. The only difficult thing is that you share the same day for your rehearsal with 2 other wedding parties. But if you're looking for a woodsy, beautiful, outdoor location that isn't too expensive, Horning's Hideout is worth checking out.
Absolutely beautiful venue. My husband and I knew we wanted to get married there as soon as we got engaged. Lovely outdoors options, bridal accommodations to change into your dress, covered areas for caterers. Plus, Bob Horning will answer any and all of your questions promptly and professionally. So very thankful to have been married there.
Check it out, Great outdoor sites and great hospitality! Thanks Bob
