Our DJ Scott was spectacular. He knew all the right music to play for cocktails, dinner and dancing. Best of all he stayed in touch throughout the entire process and had a lot of great ideas for our reception. I will use him again. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire Hot Mix.

So very helpful with the planning process and incredibly thorough in getting to know your musical tastes to create just the right vibe for your day. He kept our guests on the dance floor the entire evening and kept the party going until the very last minute. Not only was Scott our DJ & MC but also provided a great photo booth with tons of fun signage props. We even opted for the photo booth guest book keepsake which we have looked at several times since our wedding! We also chose the uplighting offered by Scott that was placed throughout the event space which really enhanced the ambiance of the room! Overall, it was an absolute honor having Scott “Smokin” Silz a Chicago house music pioneer and legend spin on our wedding day. He was certainly a highlight for us and our guests. Scott was amazing to work with!!! He not only provided the best DJ service I've seen at a wedding, but he was there for us every step of the way!! He was flexible and helped keep us on schedule the day of the wedding (June 2023). We would not have had a successful event without him and I will hire him again in a heartbeat for any future occasions as well as highly recommend him to all my friends. His company also provides a photobooth and scrapbook that kept everyone having fun throughout the event and gave us, the bride and groom, a very unique and fun keepsake from our special day. Scott was an amazing addition to our wedding. Working in hospitality I knew that one of the most important players in our wedding day was our DJ - I knew I wanted someone who could read the room, but also someone who could get the party started & keep the party going. Scott did exactly that. Our photographer & videographer missed my father + bride dance & naturally I was upset, but Scott quickly picked out another song & seamlessly worked another dance in for us making it seem almost perfectly planned. He made the planning very easy, gave us a lot of professional advice, & overall was really easy to work with. 10/10 recommend! Also make sure you get the up-lighting!

Scott was wonderful to work with for our wedding. He has a great online system that makes planning easy and he helped us navigate songs for each step of our wedding. Scott has state of the art equipment that looks very professional and sounds great. He is very good at reading the crowd and our dance floor was packed all night. We worked with Scott for our wedding and couldn't be happier with how the entire process went. First, he has a easy to use online portal to put together your music wishlist, day of timeline, and more. Leading up to the actual event date he follows up many times we had a few meetings to make sure that no detail is missed. Scott showed up to the venue early and had all of his equipment set up and every mic tested with a lot of time to spare. During the event Scott was extremely professional and commanded the room and stuck to our timeline. Even when we had to make a few changes on the fly during the event (due to mistakes from the venue) he kept us calm and handled these changes with ease. Scott's music choice during the ceremony and reception was exactly on point and he did a great job of reading the room and kept our guests dancing the entire night. He even traveled to Three Oaks, MI (90 min drive from Chicago) for our event! I would highly recommend Scott to any couple who is looking for a DJ for their wedding. He made things extremely easy, did an amazing job, and was very professional.

Scott puts the pro in professional. He was kind and understanding to our unique COVID wedding situation. We had to postpone a year and he was flexible and understanding to our situation and requests. We had a flawless party where our guests (and I) stayed on the dance floor all night. He was amazing and will make you feel special for your day!

We had to last-minute change our wedding location (as in entire states!) because of the pandemic with 2 months before our date. Scott was SO easy to work with in such a quick time frame. He really helped us nail down our timeline and our vision for the day. He was super easy to contact and was extremely quick to respond to any email we sent. His website was so easy to use to book phone calls appointments with him, request songs, and finalize our day-of timeline. On the day of our wedding, Scott brought the party! He even was super patient with us wanting to change a few things in our timeline last-minute. I was really nervous about having a wedding during this time because I was afraid it wouldn't be what we had originally imagined. With the help of Scott, we were able to have a day that was better than we could have ever imagined!

Scott has been incredibly professional from the very start. Our wedding was originally scheduled for March 21st, 2020, but unfortunately was cancelled due to COVID-19. We cancelled our wedding 6 days before the date and I was dreading making calls to all of our vendors to face the possibility of losing all of our money. Scott handled our situation with empathy and class and we could not be more grateful. He has worked with us for months, holding dates and releasing dates and holding more dates, just to be sure we got exactly the day we wanted. We would choose Hot Mix Entertainment over and over again!

Scott was a perfect 10! I can't imagine a better DJ for our wedding. Selecting a DJ was something I took seriously. The majority of companies I looked into do not allow you to choose the DJ you'll work with, and you often get assigned to your DJ just a couple months before the wedding. I did not feel comfortable having no say in that selection process! As soon as we met Scott, my husband and I knew we wanted to hire him. He is warm, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He laid out the entire process for us and made working together so easy. Scott uses a digital planning tool that was really useful, and he really listened and got to know us, our music tastes, and the ages/preferences of our guests. We knew he was good when we hired him, but he honestly blew us away at the wedding. He NAILED it! Cocktail hour was full of our favorite music and set the perfect tone for the night. At the reception, his announcements were perfect, and it was obvious that he has many years of radio/emcee experience. But most importantly, our guests danced all night and so did we! We had the BEST time. I also heard from friends that he handled the guests who had less-than-awesome song requests really well. Scott is a consummate professional. He knows music and how to run a room, and he has all the best quality equipment. I could not be happier with our decision to hire Scott, and I will recommend him to everyone I know!

Scott was amazing! He broke his leg shortly before our wedding and not once gave us any doubt he would still get the job done and do it well. And that he did! Scott & Hot Mix Entertainment were so fantastic! When my husband & I first met with Scott, we knew right away that he just understood how to keep wedding guests on the dance floor the entire night. I appreciate the fact that he is extremely honest about what songs will keep the dance floor packed and what songs will clear it quickly. We decided to book the Gold Coast package to have Scott (rather than one of his staff members) as our DJ because we knew his passion and experience would keep the party going and he did not disappoint!! I don't think most of our guests left the dance floor the entire night! I expected my friends to dance all night but was so happy to see that my parent's friends, older relatives and even my grandparents were out there dancing! One of my parent's friends said she kept waiting for a song she didn't know or couldn't dance to to come on so she could take a break, but she said she didn't leave the dance floor all night! Scott does a great job announcing the speeches, special dances, etc. and makes sure everything runs smoothly. The Hot Mix Entertainment website for choosing music, your first dance, etc. is great as well and actually, my husband & I had a lot of fun doing it! I highly recommend Scott & the Hot Mix Entertainment team if you want your guests dancing all night long!

Scott Silz is a great DJ and a consummate professional. During our planning process, Scott was extremely responsive, setting up requested consultations immediately and spending lots of time with us in his office. He asked questions to understand what we wanted and gave us great advice on everything from sound and lighting to scheduling and planning. On our wedding day, he and his staff did an excellent job from the moment they arrived extra early. Scott was a gracious MC, the dancefloor lighting looked awesome, and Scott's mix of music was perfectly calibrated to keep our friends and family dancing. It was great to have a house music legend DJ our wedding!

Hot mix was an absolute pleasure to work with. Scott was extremely professional and did a fantastic job at our wedding. Scott Silz from Hot Mix did a phenomenal job! He was professional from start to finish, catering to all your needs and making sure the flow of your reception will go perfectly. From showing up early to ensure proper set up without technical difficulty until take down at the end. He has a perfect announcement voice, and great song choice to keep the party moving. One of the best parts for us was that we love electronic music from deep house to bangin' techno, and he was able to go flawlessly from the classics and some hip-hop straight into it, while keeping the dance floor filled! Everyone was impressed and excited that we got to have a wedding and entertainment of this style! Would definitely recommend Scott if you want the best music of any genre, and if you want it to flow properly with great equipment, sound, lights, and no hassle! And for the price you pay you're getting significantly more quality than you would any other service, thank you Scott! :)

Scott was great. We felt confident with our choice in him leading up to the wedding, and the job he did during the wedding was perfect. Everyone danced the whole time. We only gave him vague guidelines and trusted him to do a lot of the selecting, and we were super happy with all the music he chose. Another positive is the software he uses. It made it easy to select songs for dancing and different points during the wedding and clarify details with him. Payment and coordinating phone appointments with Scott were also very easy. DJ Scott is one of the best DJ's around. His friendly personality made planning my wedding from across the country very easy and stress free. If I had any questions or concerns I would just e-mail them and get a response back immediately. Scott made the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception go by without a hitch! He is seriously the best! Our wedding was two weeks ago and we couldn't have asked for a better DJ! I had guests reaching out to me to comment on how amazing he was and how great the music was. Absolutely incredible experience with Hot Mix Entertainment as our wedding DJ! Our wedding reception was SO FUN because Scott played the best music that kept everyone on the dance floor!!! We also used Hot Mix Entertainment for up-lighting, pin-spots, and the photo booth which were all incredible. Hot Mix was by far our best vendor. Music was a big priority for us and we wanted to make sure we could get a great mix of 90’s and Top 40 plus some oldies for our parents and their friends. I’m serious when I say we literally planned our wedding date around when Scott Smokin SIlz was available. We went to a friend’s wedding about 2 weeks after getting engaged and the first decision we made in planning was to hire Scott to do our wedding. We didn't even consider another DJ. His team was incredibly responsive and I liked that Scott made sure everything we wanted was taken care of. Scott had a lot of great advice when it came to planning our ceremony, reception music and lighting. Our reception was a wild party and way more fun than we could have imagined.

We chose Scott at Hot Mix Entertainment as a DJ for our wedding at The Wit hotel. The preparation process was very easy and smooth. Scott was great guiding us through all the steps till the day of the wedding. He was always there to answer all our questions and provide feedback on our suggestions. Scott made an outstanding introduction speech to all our guests and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. Our guests were a diverse group: different ages, backgrounds, nationalities. Hot Mix Entertainment is just wonderful. We had Scott Smokin' Silz DJ our wedding. Our music was by far one of the most important things in our wedding. We have an eclectic taste in music, from R&B to Country to House Music to Latin. Scott handled every type of music perfectly. He was sound for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The ceremony and cocktail hour music was perfect. I gave him pretty much no input on that and it was great. He worked with my friend who sang two songs at the ceremony and the sound for that was perfect. For dinner I gave him a mish mosh of R&B and country and he was able to blend the songs together so it didn't sound crazy. :) But far and away the best was the reception music and lighting. We had uplighting for the reception and his lit up DJ booth and everything looked great. It gave the room a constant glow. The music was on point. Mostly house music, with a little Latin at times. I can't tell you how perfect everything was. I was concerned about the type of house music he was going to play, I wanted it just right. I gave him some sample songs and he was spot on. I really didn't hear anything that night that I didn't love. Finally, he was able to arrange a live House Music performer for us to have at the wedding. Everyone went crazy when he was announced. Scott also surprised us with some pictures he and his guys took at the reception. Priceless. Beyond all of this and HUGELY important is his business skills. He is so attentive and responsive. He is there for you when you need it. He has cool planning tools you can use to pick "must play" songs, "do not play" songs and different levels in between and you can search a library of songs on the website. There are planning forms so you know everything is under control and he knows what songs you want for what occasion. Scott and Hot Mix are true professionals. There were no worries leading up to our big day. Scott will keep everything under control, keep you happy and keep your dance floor full. He is really good at gauging the crowd and playing to them to keep everyone happy. Thank you, Scott!!

Scott is a consummate professional. From the first interaction we had to the last, Scott kept our best interests in mind. I've never seen a dance floor packed all night at a wedding before. Usually there are ebs and flows to people dancing, but with Scott, everybody was on the floor almost the entire time. The music he played was exactly what we had in mind, no cheesy bits, and most importantly he kept our "do not play" list in mind. He also did an amazing job with the uplighting, and it really added a beautiful ambiance to the dance floor! Scott is a consummate professional, we were lucky to have found him for our corporate event. He put together a killer set, incorporated our branding into his stage and photo booths and was great in responding to all my communications. We had a change in date, time and venue a few months down the line after securing his services and he rolled with that no problem. We had a last minute presentation our employees put together, the morning of the event and he confirmed he can make that work within minutes of me making the request. He helped in making sure we had the right layout for the event, worked around the stringent guidelines placed by the venue and followed through on everything he pitched when we brought him on board. Scott did an AMAZING job at our wedding. We met with him twice to hash out all the details. He is extremely professional and knows his stuff. He was able to help us with some musical choices too when we were stuck. We also got the up lights and photo booth from him. Everything was exceptional! Our guest are still mentioning to us that this was the first wedding they have been to where the dance floor was packed from beginning to the end of the last song played. What can I say about Scott except that he totally crushed it at our wedding and kept the dancefloor packed all night long? We had a destination Austin wedding and no DJ was good enough for our tastes except Silz so we dragged him all the way down to Texas - a choice we could not be happier with. The music was amazing, he did an insane job with the uplighting - when the lights were lowered, the place looked incredible! - and his photobooth was a highlight to us and our guests. Oliver (who manned the photobooth) was a true professional and had amazing ideas for our friends that made their excitement over picture taking even better. All we wanted at our wedding was a total party and he kept it that way all night long!
