The engagement shoot we did was one of the highlights of wedding planning, it felt like we had known Jessica forever, and there truly is nothing better than spending an hour cuddling and kissing your love while Jessica is your hype woman taking gorgeous pictures. She was also a huge help during the planning in general. Jessica provided a list of other trusted vendors and had questionnaires for us throughout the year to help us figure out what we wanted for our wedding day photos. On the wedding day Jessica and her team were amazing! She took the small hiccups of the day in stride, like my husband forgetting his button down, and even stepped in to style my hair for me when my initial plan fell through. She guided us smoothly through the day, making sure we had nothing to think about other than our love and took some of the most beautiful pictures. Jessica deftly handled extended family portraits with our 36 family members, and so many of them have told us she was the most organized and efficient wedding photographer they have ever seen. In looking through our gallery we also found many wonderful moments Jessica captured that we didn’t even know were happening. Truly if you want someone to focus on the love between you and your partner and to handle any distractions that try to get in the way while taking the most gorgeous pictures you’ve ever seen, we cannot recommend Jessica Hunt enough!

ay. We wanted to keep all of my vendors as local as we could and when we found JHP online, I knew I had to book her as our photographer. I looked at and loved everything she had done, and honestly fan-girled a bit when I got to meet her the first time. Her photos always show the love of the couple on their day and I knew in my heart that I wanted her and her team for our day. It was one of the best decisions we made, and we have the photos to prove it. Once becoming a JHP couple, you just know that you are making the best decision to remember your day. Getting engaged in December 2019 really allowed us to think critically about wedding planning while stuck at home during the pandemic, but once we were able to really start the planning process in January of 2021, Jessica Hunt was the first vendor we reached out to after deciding on our venue in hopes that she was available during our preferred wedding month (February). We were fully prepared to choose whichever date her and her team were available (no really, we told our venue coordinator to pencil us in for our first choice of date pending photographer availability before even the initial call with Jessica). And boy did we start off strong with our decision making! Jess and her team (go Sav and Mary Faith!) are a literal DREAM! From the very first call, she makes you feel like you’ve known her forever. She is so organized and has so many great resources for couples during the process including possible vendors and timelines. I’ve never met someone who fits so perfectly in their role as Jess does with wedding photography. I’ve seen other people call her their own personal hype-woman on their wedding day and I whole-heartedly agree! I am incredibly happy with our choice in hiring her to capture our day and would absolutely recommend any couple to book with her and her team!

Jess took the time to get to know our love story, what was important to us and helped us create a timeline for our day. She even checked in periodically to offer help with finding other vendors or other wedding needs. We had an Indian wedding ceremony & an American wedding. She took the time to get to know all of the important traditions before the Indian wedding; even making sure that her team were dressed appropriately. Her team is made up of actual angels, they made sure that my hair and makeup was exactly how I wanted it all day so it photographed perfectly, they hyped us up so we felt gorgeous and natural in front of the camera and made sure that every single important moment was captured. They were on time, organized, made sure we knew exactly what to expect ahead of time and kept my bridesmaids on schedule so I didn't have to worry about a thing. I didnt want to miss out on any wedding fun because I was away taking photos, so she created the schedule in a way that we took 99% of pictures before the guests arrived so I got to enjoy every second. She captured our day beautifully. Not one of our photos looks awkward or posed. All you see are two people madly in love surrounded by happy people there to support them; just the way wedding photography should be. We got our preview photos SUPER fast and our full gallery just a few weeks later. The photos are gorgeous; she captured moments that I didnt even see during the madness of the day. Each time we met up for a session, she wanted to know about how the rest of wedding planning was going, and if she could do anything to help. I loved that she cared about my whole day not just her part. My husband and I both don't love our pictures being taken, but with Jessica's guidance we had a blast. She had us laughing from the start making sure we were as comfortable as possible. My husband and I opted to do our vows at our first look because we wanted to be as vulnerable and honest as possible without a crowd of people, and we both agreed that having any other photographer there with us would have made it hard to still be comfortable in that situation. My husband said it was like having a friend right there with us-not someone that we were paying to just do a job, and I couldn't agree more with that. H and she's an INCREDIBLE PHOTOGRAPHER. She's also very knowledgeable about photography and you can tell she's very experienced in her work. She knows the right poses and can set up a great shot. When we first met with Jess, I could tell that she was going to bring a positive vibe to our special day. I knew she would lift me up and make me feel like my best self in our photos. After our engagement session, that was confirmed. She just makes you feel so confident and so comfortable in front of the camera. Additionally, she knows the Columbia wedding scene and gives you recommendations for other vendors. We utilized so many of her recommendations for our day. She had questionnaires for us leading up to our big day to discuss the things we wanted or didn't want. We were able to communicate any concerns or questions and felt completely supported. We did a first look at Jess's suggestion and I am SO GLAD we did. It gave us more time for couple portraits and we were still able to join our guests for part of cocktail hour. We got a timeline ahead of time, with everything organized down to the minute. During our wedding day, Jess was prompt and organized. Everything ran smoothly. As a bride, I felt so incredibly supported the entire time. Anything I needed, even if it wasn't photo related, Jess was ready and willing to help me figure it out or find someone to. I got every shot I wanted and more. Our previews came in the following week and I was ecstatic. We got all of our pictures in less than 4 weeks. They are everything I could have wanted and more! The light, bright, airy quality of the photos complemented our venue beautifully. I will forever be recommending Jess to people I know because she is truly just the best! And to top it all off, she's an awesome human and will accept your love, no matter what it looks like.
