I dont think there was a person at the reception who didn't comment on how beautiful my hair was and how they'd never seen anything like it before. It was so stunning I hated to take it down. She even kindly "did" the flower girls make-up (i.e., powder and lip gloss to avoid a flower girl meltdown about being left out) - free of charge, as she could see how much it was going to mean to the little girl. On top of how wonderful she was at her job, she is also a legend to have around you on your wedding day. She keeps things light, breezy, funny, energetic, and most importantly - real! Honestly, if I lived in NY, I would do everything I could to make it on to her book of regulars. Do yourself a favour and book this wonderful woman!! I'm not much of a reviewer, but I wanted to do this because she was just-that-good.

I am the pickiest person when it comes to my makeup, and she was more than patient with me when I wanted things changed during the trial. In the end I was so beyond happy with how I looked, I ended my search and booked JoAnn immediately. Leading up to the wedding day, JoAnn was there for me whenever I needed to bother her with questions or concerns. On the big day, shewas right on time, and we had an absolute blast getting ready. It was just my sister and my best friend (not a huge wedding party), and they absolutely loved how she transformed them for the wedding day. I myself felt flawless and got a million compliments. My hair and makeup literally did not come out for the whole 16 hour day, through all the pictures and dancing. It’s clear from the start that JoAnn has worked with clients of all ethnicities. She was completely in tune with my concerns, and enhanced all my natural features... Even though I felt very glamorous, I always felt like myself. She is also an insanely calming presence. She’ll make you laugh, she’ll recognize when you need a water, or perhaps need to take a break. We talked and briefly discussed the makeup and hair, and I was already so calm after the conversation. I decided not to have a trial makeup -- just sent a picture of my dress. The night before the wedding, we had a quick call, and JoAnn explained me how to prepare the skin before the big day! Our preparations started really early, and sharp at 6 AM JoAnn was already at my place. If I say that I was nervous, it won't say anything! I was shaking! :) Again, JoAnn, somehow really calmed me down just by the way of talking. She created very tender makeup and hair that looked perfect with the dress! I was very happy with the result!!! JoAnn even helped my mom with her hair! I would definitely recommend JoAnn! She is a great professional!!!

inding a new make-up artist just two weeks before my wedding due to unprofessional “ghosting” on the part of another artist that decided not to show up to our trial and who I have not heard from since… This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Once I got on the phone with JoAnn, she was extremely empathic to my situation and wanted to make things right immediately and came over the next day for a trial! JoAnn spent two hours detailing my makeup based on photos of different looks I liked and pictures of my dress, venue and hair. (Side note: JoAnn is also a professional hairdresser but being it was two weeks before, I had already secured a hairdresser.) JoAnn doesn’t just apply makeup, she goes through your typical beauty routine to get to know you and hydrates & massages your skin with top of the line oils & lotions from her many product sponsors. She is of course a certified skin care professional! Then comes makeup. JoAnn brought an entire suitcase of different brands, colors, textures – and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of her collection! She was able to recreate a look I found online, make helpful suggestions and tailor changes until I felt like a beautiful bride. She has a professional booking, contract and payment process to make you feel secure. On the big day, she arrived on-time and ready to go! She was speedy and recreated exactly what we agreed on. Not only did she do a phenomenal job on my makeup; she was also kind enough to touch up some of my bridesmaids pro bono who were struggling with applying their own makeup. Not only that, but JoAnn actually rescheduled another appointment that afternoon to make sure I was perfectly happy with the finished product – the product being me, in my dress, floral crown pinned down and hair touch-ups finalized. What an angel!!! I would absolutely recommend JoAnn to anyone looking for a hair/makeup artist for just about any occasion!

Everyone's hair looked stunning and everyone was happy with their result. In the past I have felt like my hair looked too crunchy or over hairsprayed. However, the end results from both ladies looked extremely natural and not crunchy at all. This didn't mean they didn't last though! My hair still looked flawless by the end of the night! Makeup: this was the first time I have ever agreed to have my makeup done professionally. I hate looking caked with makeup and sometimes I feel like the makeup is so different from what the person usually looks like. On the day of I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. Jessica did a great job of making me look shimmery and beautiful without making it over the top. I also discussed eye liner with Keri later. I had originally skipped it but decided I needed it. I said I wasn't a fan of a big thick black line and she used her magic to make it subtly pop. I really thought all of the girls makeup looked gorgeous. And everyone seemed to get what they wanted. Personality: These three girls blended flawlessly with the morning of mood. They talked and laughed with us, which really helped bring everything together. And with 100 conversations going on JoAnn multiple times picked out a girl talking about her look and would focus on and ask what if anything they could do to fix something. A few girls got touched up and one wanted to change something about her hair. This was not a problem. The ladies were dedicated to making sure we all felt our best. Basically, if I were getting married I would hire this team in a heart beat. They were fun to be around and every girl walked into the wedding feeling beautiful. And that's really what it's all about.

I've never had my hair and makeup done at my house or hotel before and JoAnn is timely - actually early - open to ideas, free to offer suggestions and really works with you. Post-trial, I emailed her a few new ideas I had and she was quick to respond. The day of my wedding, I was a little nervous. (I had been trapped inside my hotel elevator for over an hour just the night before!) I had very little sleep and thought that it would take magic to make me look gorgeous, let alone awake. Well, I was unsure but excited about my completed look and my sister, my biggest "truth teller" - thought it was awesome!
