Jennifer is the venue coordinator and went above and beyond from the moment we first talked to her -- at one point, she and her son even went and taste-tested and helped us choose between two taco trucks we were deciding between for our late-night snack, since we live a bit of a drive from the museum (and the bulk of the planning was during COVID). We were able to have staff on-site to give guided tours of the museum throughout the night, the patio and courtyard were both available for use the whole night, and everything went perfectly. Harrah's Joliet Hotel & Casino is literally a block down the road, so setting up a hotel block was also a breeze. Several great local catering/rehearsal dinner options very close by as well.

“Banquet Hall” kind of wedding people and the Joliet Area Historical Museum met all of our needs. We had the most amazing day, and all the major hiccups were handled very smoothly by the JAHM crew! If you want your wedding to stand out amongst the rest and to be the talk of the decade in your family then consider going with Joliet Area Historical Museum!

Jennifer is the perfect person to have in your corner on your wedding day: she is super organized, extremely experienced, calm and supportive. She is a real event planning expert and I can’t say enough about how great she was to work with. Then there is the space itself — it is so cool and unique, and we have heard from so many guests how much they loved the venue. The twinkle lights on the rooftop are the perfect backdrop for the evening once the sun goes down. We had 160 guests for dinner and dancing and there was plenty of space for everyone, plus the museum galleries and lobby to explore. I have also heard from multiple people how great the bar and bartenders were at our wedding. The JAHM is a wonderful place with fantastic staff, and we had the perfect wedding reception there. Highly recommend!!

we didn't have the best weather- we added a few standing umbrellas around the perimeter and hardly noticed when it started to pour down rain. Jennifer must be the easiest person to work with - she was responsive and flexible. She remained calm when things went off track in the planning - ready to help us problem solve, happy to help us make the event all we hoped it would be. We decided to hire our own servers and have the caterer "deliver" the food rather than stay and serve it. This meant we needed Jennifer and her staff to support the staff we had brought in (they were awesome so they didn't need much support)- which they were happy to do. We just had a ball and the staff was a big part of the positive experience. Love the venue! Love the JHM staff! Definitely recommend!

ous exhibits, and the recently renovated auditorium was a perfect place to host our dinner. The staff is incredibly helpful, they let us set up the night before and take down a day after. That's rare to find in a venue location! All of our guests kept commenting on how cool and unique the museum was and the different exhibits made for some awesome photographs! I would highly, highly recommend the Joliet Area Historical Museum for a wedding. We loved everything about it!
