Brides BEWARE! We were well into our wedding planning process (venue booked, caterer, menu & rentals selected, cake & florals ordered, vision board perfected, invitations even printed) -- all we needed was someone to help execute the dream, wh...en we hired Aundrea Goodwin of JP Events in Nashville TN (aka Joyful Provisions, JP Catering & Events) as our daughter’s wedding planner. We read great reviews on Wedding Wire (which are coincidentally no longer there) of Aundrea, she seemed experienced, and she was fun to work with… at first. But please don’t stop reading here!!!
Unfortunately, a couple of months later, Aundrea was barred from so much as setting foot in our wedding venue by both the venue owner and the venue management company because of her unprofessional actions! Aundrea had falsified documents, including emails where she completely fabricated statements, as well as catering quotes where she drastically inflated the prices (even though she had told us she would never ever mark up a price) -- all the while, she made these emails, statements and catering quotes appear to have come from the venue management company, including the use of their logo! She even went so far as to tell us that the preferred caterer that we had selected was no longer an option because our venue management company had “severed its contractual relationship” with this vendor, which was totally untrue! Naively believing, however, that Aundrea was telling the truth, we called the venue owner to complain about the venue management company (since Aundrea had made them out the culprit); we also contacted the catering company directly to express our disappointment in no longer getting to work with them. And that’s when things started to unravel for Aundrea... thank goodness! Long story short -- after lots of tears from the bride, many phone calls, hours of tedious digging, searching email servers and checking pdf alteration dates (yes, Aundrea, that’s possible!) and one heated ‘come to jesus’ meeting ... the truth about Aundrea was revealed, along with the physical evidence to back it up (which we still have, if you’d like to see it).
Once the truth surfaced, Aundrea was barred from the venue. Although she never admitted to any wrongdoing, Aundrea promptly offered to “bow out and return the money” we had paid her, which we would have truly appreciated, were that true. But again, please don’t stop reading here!!!
Before long, we were completely ghosted by Aundrea... she didn’t answer our phone calls, emails or texts! And no sign of our $3,000 refund! We soon realized she was up to her old tricks of making false promises and doctoring documents. Although JP Events “Accounting Department” claimed the check was in the mail and even emailed us a “Wells Fargo Proof of Payment” to verify it (again, a fake document, complete with the Wells Fargo logo, and a pdf alteration date of ONE MINUTE before she emailed it to us), the refund never arrived. Not to mention, it was a credit card payment and the refund could have been done electronically, but JPEvents claimed it had to be refunded via check (again, BS). Fortunately, our bank took care of us once we formally disputed the charges (bless you, Bank of America!) ... otherwise, I’m sure we would never have seen a cent without going to court which, as she knows, we were prepared to do!
