we looked at & it was immediately clear to us that it would be the perfect place to have our wedding. The setting is incredible & unlike any place we have ever been. The flower field was gorgeous, created w/love & a beautiful backdrop for photos. The creek sounds gave a sense of ease & grounding. The shaded ceremony site w/built-in natural seating blended in & looked like it was a magical setting you came upon in the forest so you could sit & witness something incredible. Honestly a big selling point for us, aside from the amazing vintage campers & all-around vibes, was Charlene, who owns & operates the venue w/her husband Tom (who is also so kind & supportive). Charlene was an integral part of bringing our day together. She is a VIRGO QUEEN! She immediately made us feel comfortable & cared for & like we could plan this daunting event ourselves & she gave us tools & reassurance to do so. She knows what she is doing & she loves doing it & that meant everything to us. From her preferred vendor list to her help when we were in decision fatigue & overwhelmed, to her impeccable & flawless performance as our day-of-coordinator. She orchestrated our wedding day to run like a well-oiled machine, w/vendors being coordinated well & on time, & made sure events & people were where they needed to be & when, while still doing it w/love & fun/chill energy. She is so experienced & professional that she took care of everything behind the scenes so that we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. She was so stress-free, it was refreshing & exactly what we needed. We are a lesbian couple & it’s not always a guarantee that a venue will feel safe & welcoming & supportive. At JB, we immediately felt seen, were treated equitably, & felt just as much excitement (if not more) for our union to take place there. Later in the planning process when we faced hard familial decisions & discussions, because it isn’t always easy being queer in the south, we reached out to Charlene & were met w/understanding, compassion, & the best embrace we could have asked for. It was just pure love when we needed it most. We will always be grateful for that. The atmosphere on the other side of the venue & the campers were such a sweet & unique focal point. Getting to stay in them was so special & created a warm & vibey setting where we got to feel into the past, be present, & step forward into our future together. From the rehearsal & welcome party, to getting ready in the camper together, to the First Look at the Treehouse, to guests getting to explore the forest resort, to the after party at the fire pit, to bagels & coffee the next morning, the entire weekend felt like our own private camp, our own private bubble where only love & support existed. The whole venue created that energy for us in so many ways & we are forever grateful to be a part of the JB family now. The JB staff also deserve a huge shout out (& an extra thanks to you, Greta!) for running everything so smoothly & professionally, from the rehearsal on Friday to check out on Sunday. They were full of nothing but love & support for us as well, & they felt like family, too. Words cannot fully capture what JB or Charlene & Tom mean to us, but I hope you will get to go there one day & witness the magic that is JuneBug Retro Resort.

Words can’t even begin to describe how grateful we are to have found Junebug!!! Our entire wedding was better than we could have ever imagined thanks to them, Charlene truly remembers every tiny details and worked so hard to ensure us and our families were able to relax and cherish our big day. As a bride who did a lot of DIY-ing and did not have a wedding coordinator, Charlene was a literal life saver. Any questions or concerns I had, Charlene had an answer or advice! We got so many compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed staying in the campers, exploring the Junebug property, and getting to know the Junebug owners/staff. You truly will not experience a more dedicated and genuine team of people on your wedding day, we are so lucky to have had our wedding here and to have met Charlene and Tom. Our favorite memories will be sitting by the fire with our friends and family the night before our wedding, laughing in the hammocks over the creek, feeling like we were all at one big sleep away camp playing games and making memories before the most perfect wedding day! Junebug is a one of a kind place, run by one of a kind people.
