I really loved working with Marilyn. She does her work out of her home anymore and is incredibly affordable and courteous. I heard about her from a friend, and short of the wedding day, I would have been enthusiastic to recommend her to anyone.... But on the wedding day, I was disappointed in my flowers. My groom didn't have a bloom on his boutonniere AT ALL (the groomsmen did, so it looked pretty silly), there was far more pink in the bouquets and on the cake than I had shown her in my photos, and not as much dusty miller as I'd wanted. I told her I wanted my bouquet wrapped in lace ribbon, and it was...but it also had an enormous lace bow that I didn't care for. I had also asked her to drape pearls in my bouquet and on my centerpiece vessels - instead of draping like I'd described to her, she wrapped my bouquet in pearls and seemed to kind of carelessly put pearls on the centerpiece vessels, without giving them a gatsby-like drape that I'd described. The cake flowers were almost all pink (not what I asked for!), and they looked far too much like they'd been picked out of someone's garden before the wedding than a classy arrangement. So even though the price was wonderful and the overall experience of working with Marilyn was delightful, I was sad that pretty much all of the bouquets and the cake flowers really missed the mark. She did do well on the baby's breath for the centerpieces, but otherwise, I'm not sure I would go with her if I could do it again. If I were to, I would be painfully articulate in my vision for the day.
