Really dropped the ballReviewed on 1/26/2014 Alissa B
We used Laura's catering for our wedding on December 31, 2013. Everything that led up to my wedding was great. She responded in a timely fashion, her food at the tasting was amazing, her menu was amazing and everything from the china to the linens were great. The day of my wedding her staff showed up late which put my whole day behind. My wedding was to start at 6pm with guests arriving at 5:30pm and her staff didn't even arrive to finish setting up until 4:50pm. Our ceremony and reception were in the same location with our guests already seated at their tables during the ceremony. My bridal party and family was at our location to take pictures before the wedding, and we had to shut the doors on our guests so we could run around and finish our tables!! We had to help lay out napkins, our programs, table numbers and the wedding favors!! The water goblets never even made it to the tables. This put my wedding behind by 25 minutes. After our ceremony, we left the location to go take a few pictures outside. During this time, they ran behind on putting the tables out because they said they could not find the tables and were confused on how the head table and buffet were to be set up. My florist and DJ pretty much kept my wedding in line and had to help pick up the slack of this catering company. The end of the night we were suppose to get all of our leftover food. There was an entire pan of chicken and a whole slab of prime rib leftover. After having to track down all the food, we only received the prime rib and the entire pan of chicken had mysteriously disappeared. We were given the explanation that her highly experienced chef had gotten nervous and trashed the food. She did refund the full price of the 20 portions after multiple communications. When I contacted Laura the day after my wedding, since she was not at my wedding, I explained everything that happened and she said she would talk to her staff and she would get back with me. The email I received the following day never had an apology, but simply an explanation that her staff said everything ran smoothly and that none of that had happened. After multiple testimonials from my florist, DJ, my sister, myself and one of my bridesmaids (who actually booked her for her wedding this upcoming May), she still never gave an apology, ignored my phone calls, would only respond by email and she stood her ground about her staff being the only one that was truthful. I will say that her food was great though!! Probably the best wedding food we have ever had but it's so hard to see that one good thing after everything that has happened. The DJ we used was Mega Beat DJ. He will be more than happy to back this story. Our venue, The Vault, has since removed Laura from his preferred caterer list because of all the stress that this catering company caused his staff as well.
Stress-free/worry-free :)Reviewed on 3/28/2013 Angela G
For a wedding, as the bride, I believe that the caterer is the most important decision to be made. I found Laura's Catering by luck! I wanted to use a local caterer that wasn't too large and that was more personable. I called Laura's, and I didn't look anymore!! She knew I was on a budget and did eveything she could to bring the price down. She gave me advice and even helped me "organize" part of my wedding. She went above and beyond what she was expected. In the end...The food was great, which was very important to me! (I was told by ALL my guests, even the picky eaters!) The staff was very professional and friendly! And the price was unbeatable! This part of my wedding was stress-free, if you can believe that! I highly recommend Laura's Catering!!!!
Great Food for a Great Price!Reviewed on 1/12/2012 Britanee L
We met with Laura prior to our September 2010 wedding, hoping she could come up with something great within our budget, and to satisfy all of the picky eaters in our families. She came up with a pasta buffet where guests could choose their noodles, meat, and all toppings and chefs would cook and assemble the plates as they were ordered. It was such a great option AND saved us tons of money compared to all the other catering quotes we got. Our guests are STILL raving about how great the food was a year and half later. Laura's Catering goes above and beyond for their clients and doesn't nickel and dime you like most caterers in the area. Best of all, I felt like Laura was genuinely excited to make our wedding day fabulous and she was always prompt to respond to questions or come up with ideas for us. Definitely do not regret choosing Laura's Caterings as our wedding caterer!!
Diamond in the rough!Reviewed on 1/06/2012 senta r
Anyone who has planned a wedding knows there are so many bases to cover! One of the most important is the food! My now husband :) and I are kindof foodies...we have a lot of parties and cook a lot, so the food at our wedding had to be great! We met with Laura for a tasting a year before our wedding. We chose heavy appetizers for a 6:30 wedding. The food was so great, we didn't look at any other caterers, this was it for us! There were so many options, even for our appetizer menu, it was fun to pick out a variety. Laura's catering has a modern, sophisticated menu at very reasonable price! Her staff is professional, and so accomidating! I noticed at our wedding, there were 2 large vases of flowers on our food tables that we did not place there. Laura did that as a nice gesture....it made quite an impression on us! I have recommended Laura's catering to some friends that are getting married, word of mouth is how we got every vendor for our wedding... I think it's a great way to go! Eventhough Laura's hasn't been around for years and years, we would absolutely recommend her catering! We got together with family for christmas, and my husbands 2 cousins and uncle were talkig about our wedding food and how much they loved it! Now Laura has expanded and has a resturant- Mediterra Resturant and Bar. Since the opening 2 months ago, we have been there 7 times! Laura's Catering and now her resturant, are definately diamonds in the rough!
