Delicious Desserts!Reviewed on 10/22/2014 Megan K
We had a small destination wedding on Oahu. My husband's parents live there, so we were able to arrive 10 days in advance in order to get things together. 10 days was not enough advance notice for most of the wedding bakeries in the area, who said they preferred 2 weeks to a month minimum advance ordering. Since we were having an intimate ceremony with only 30 guests, we decided to think outside the box and use a baker that does not specialize in weddings. Leonard's was PERFECT! Here's why: -Delicious choices. We chose to have pineapple upside down cake, 3 flavors of creme puffs, chocolate peanut butter bites and a passion fruit cake. -No need to schedule a tasting. It's a regular bakery, so you can just go in, point to the things you'd like to try and get them instantly. They have a great selection. -Reliable. They have been in business in the same location since 1956. They know what they're doing. We didn't have any problems with our order. - Affordable. We majorly over-ordered. With the $120 we spent, we could have had enough dessert for 60 or more people. We ended up with so much that it wouldn't all fit on our dessert table. -Great hours. The only drawback to using Leonard's is that they don't deliver. That being said, they do have great hours. (5:30am to 10or11pm) This made it easy for some friends to swing by and pick up the order on the day of the wedding. Just be sure to refrigerate it after pickup. -Can make orders short-notice. They only need a day or two advance notice to fill a regular order. I read on their website that they need a week in advance for a sheet cake. Conclusion: Leonard's is delicious and the staff is friendly. We were happier with Leonard's desserts than we would have been with a traditional wedding cake.
