Alex is a must-have at any wedding or major event! After seeing Alex at a friend's wedding out of the country, I had to have him at mine. Not only that, I booked him for my sister's wedding in a few months. He is a professional (both in preparation and at the ceremony), puts out an excellent finished product, provides amazing entertainment for all guests (young and old) and most importantly an awesome person to have as a part of an important life event. Hiring Alex was the one thing that my husband and I couldn’t agree on when planning our wedding. He felt like it was a waste of money, but I was set on having Alex paint our wedding. I’m so glad I didn’t give in! Our painting is one of our favorite memories from our wedding, and it perfectly captures the fun we and our guests had at our wedding. It’s insane how many little specific details Alex puts on the canvas, but all the highlights of our wedding are there. He has the spin and dip from our first dance, my bridesmaids dancing on stage, and our nephew shirtless during a dance battle. Our families also loved watching him work, and he was so patient with all of their “Put me in!” requests. He definitely added something special to our wedding, and the painting that my husband didn’t want is now his favorite memory of our wedding. He shows it to everyone and says he can’t imagine our wedding without it, and I have to agree!

The one thing that I told my wife I wanted for our wedding reception was to have Alex paint it for us, and he did not disappoint! Alex is AMAZING! He arrives at the reception early to paint the background and decorations. Throughout the reception he adds the bride, groom, wedding party, the parents of the couple and guests for a fabulous oil painting that captures the true ambiance and essence of the reception. Guests LOVE to interact with Alex throughout the event which allows him to truly portray them in a special way in the painting. He's witty, personable and a true delight throughout the event. So many guests have asked us for prints of the painting since they adore the rendition of themselves. Alex helped with the prints and even sign each print to make it a one of a kind specially numbered print . The prints also made perfect thank you gifts from the couple. Alex was great to work with at every step of the process. Picking up the painting at his studio was also a delight as we got to share many of his other artistic works. Alex is so talented. The happy couple were thrilled to hang this gorgeous oil painting in their home to remember the perfect wedding. Alex was the "hit" of my son's wedding! Not only did the painting come out absolutely awesome, the guests were entertained watching him. If you stood by him he made sure to get you in the painting. The guests loved this. His work is phenomenal. What a great way to memorialize such a special night!

Alex Harvie's ability to capture in paint the feeling of my wedding reception is truly mind blowing. I was already familiar with his amazing work, so I had no doubt in my mind he would deliver, but I just couldn't prepare myself for how much my husband and I treasure it. No one else could have done it and no one else possesses his aesthetic. On top of the painting itself, Alex is both jovial and professional, and was such an attraction at our event! My guest were in AWE watching a blank canvas come to life; many of them who were painted in took pictures of the work in progress and made them their social media profile pics. He interacted so well with all of them. Due to budget, I did not get a videographer. Many people will not have to chose and certainly having a videographer is great. For myself, the choice was such an easy one knowing Alex would be painting: Every day, my husband and I get to relive the feeling of that night by just looking at our painting. Our friends and guests, even new ones who were not there, experience it when they hang out with us at home. We don't have to pull out an album or watch a video, its just there, and I love the idea of it being passed down for generations. I feel SO LUCKY to have Alex Harvie and his lovely wife, Amy, in this city. HANDS DOWN THE BEST.

Having Mr. Harvie at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! Alex Harvie's painting was the BEST thing about my wedding (other than my marriage of course :) ). Alex was the SECOND vendor I booked after my church, that's how much I wanted to have him paint. Alex Harvey is one of the most talented artists I have ever come across. I first saw him at a wedding at NOCC last fall. I was totally amazed as I watched him take a blank canvass, and create the ballroom and add just about everyone in attendance all throughout the reception. The guests were amazed to watch him at work, energetically recreating the reception in 3D with oil based paint - anyone who watched was added to he scene. The final result was amazing. I was so impressed that I asked him to attend my daughter's reception to do the same. The result was I believe his best painting or a wedding reception yet. First off Amy and Alex were an absolute joy to work with from the very beginning till the day we picked up our painting. Five stars are not enough to rate Alex! Truly one of the best decisions we made was hiring him to paint our daughter and son-in-law's wedding. The painting really captured the mood and our guests enjoyed watching his work develop during the evening. He was extremely professional and personable throughout the entire process. Ask anyone who has attended a wedding reception where Alex Harvie is in action and they will say “they had a blast!” When I contacted Alex to paint at my son and future daughter-in-law’s wedding reception, he stated that he had vacation plans at that time; however, he would get back to me. When Alex called back about the date, he stated that he and Amy had rescheduled their vacation plans to accommodate us. We could not have picked a better vendor for this wedding! Alex kept the guests entertained while painting the reception. After checking out other area live artists ,he was chosen as he does a great job of depicting the wedding party/guests as opposed to vague shadowy figures. We were even able to include the family dog, hidden in the crowd! As opposed to a photo album or video hidden away, we now have a lovely wedding painting on display in our home as a reminder of the fun and joy shared on our wedding day.

ALEX HARVIE is AMAZING!! He did our live painting at our Wedding in February and I can not tell you how impressed I was. Our family and friends had the best time with Alex as he personally painted each one in our picture. He was very personable and professional. I arranged for Alex Harvie to paint during the reception as a surprise for my daughter. The painting is spectacular, and my daughter and her husband love it. I did not anticipate how much the wedding guests would love Alex and his process. My guests are still talking about Alex, and describing where they are in the painting. Afterwards, several even sent me pictures of Alex while he was painting them in the crowd. Alex is a pleasure to deal with, and a very gifted artist. I am so glad that we found him!

The best purchase I made for my wedding. When planning my wedding I was under the impression that I had to get the best photographer because pictures would be all I have to remember my wedding day, WRONG! I will forever relive my wedding through my painting! I got married 4 months ago and people are still talking about my wedding, which after all the planning and stress it's awesome to hear it all paid off; however, I will be honest - Alex made it worth talking about months later. I can't say enough about Alex Harvie. We saw him at a friend's wedding and knew we needed to book him for ours. This wasn't something that we initially factored into our budget, but I'm SO glad we made it work and cut out other things to make room for Alex. There isn't much out there in terms of entertainment that you get to take home with you and keep forever to remind you of your big day. This is well worth it. Alex's wife, Amy, is his manager and was very helpful and accommodating. Most of our communication was via email and she always responded quickly. Every time I met her she was super friendly and supportive. They make a great team! Our guests absolutely loved Alex, and he was personable throughout the entire reception, never getting impatient about everyone asking him to paint them into the picture. He was pure entertainment, dancing in his paint-strewn tuxedo and interacting with out guests while he painted. He took our painting home with him after the reception so that it could dry (and he even painted in a couple more bridesmaids). We picked up our painting after we got back from our honeymoon, and it is PERFECTION. The detail he puts in is amazing - from facial expressions, to dance moves, to color, etc - all using what looks like something you could butter bread with :) I love that we can actually pick out who people are in the painting. I surprised my husband with the live painting for a wedding present - I am so glad Alex was able to do it! It was awesome. Our guests loved watching him paint and getting themselves painted into the painting! So many of them commented on our this was the best thing they have ever seen at the wedding. We loved seeing took photos our guests took documenting the process. The final product is beyond incredible - you can identify every person in there as a guest. This memory is worth every penny spent. If you are on the fence about this something extra, do it, you won't regret it!!

He painted our wedding reception as it was happening. Our guests loved it!! Just the idea of it got a terrific response. And anyone who came up to watch as it was being done could get included in the painting. He was easy going and a great asset to the occasion!! It was a gift from me to my bride and she jumped with happiness when she realized what I'd gotten her as we entered the hall.

My parents surprised us at our wedding with Alex painting live! My husband and I fell in love during physical therapy school while going to live art walks and art shows. The painting Alex did for us was absolutely spectacular and is actually posted on this site. He captured the magic of our wedding day and reception just perfectly. He even painted in our parents and other guests at the wedding who we can actually identify! The best part is we got to hang it in our home as a constant reminder of that special day. Alex's talents are just out of this world. I have had several friends who got married after me hire Alex because they saw him at my wedding and loved him too! Although the same artist did our weddings, none of our paintings look the even remotely the same. The only thing they have in common is they are GORGEOUS. I even had one friend go another route and tried to hire another painter...needless to say she was quite disappointed with the results. If you love art and want a lovely ORIGINAL piece for your home, you are CRAZY if you don't hire him.

Alex is a master artist. What may appear to be abstract portraits on canvas actually turns out to be a perfect rendition of family and friends making lifetime memories. Alex is able to capture someone's pose/posture within seconds. You can easily identify who is who. He very quickly became a major part of the wedding reception as our guests flocked around him for 4 hours. Having Alex participate was one of the top 2 best decisions we made.

I've been to 2 weddings where I have seen Alex Harvie and thought his talent was absolutely amazing. When it came time for my wedding I definitly had to book him. All of our guest loved seeing the painting and it was a big talk of the evening and even after our wedding. Alex was very social and our guest loved chatting with him. Our guest thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment of seeing him paint throughout the reception, and some were super excited to see or find out that they were in the painting. After picking up the painting it was a fun experience to really look at it up close and see who he painted, the types of poses they had and to take it all in and remember the night. Alex did a great job of really capturing the event, his quality of work is phenomenal, he pays a lot of attention to detail--the best man doing his infamous dance moves, close friend of ours who wore bright red heels painted in, to even in the background of our paiting was image of horse and carriage that my dad and I rode in on during wedding ceremony. You can tell Alex has a passion for painting in his work. Several of our guest complimented us on having Alex Harvie there and commented to us, "when we renew our vows we are definitly going to book him!" Not only is this a unique idea for a wedding for your guest to enjoy but also it is something that you can cherish in your home after your wedding and recapture your special day. I know we will. Alex did an amazing job at our wedding! We first saw him at another wedding and couldn't quit stopping by to check the progress of the painting. When planning our wedding we just knew we had to book him. Alex showed up ahead of schedule for set up and even wore a tux for the event! The painting turned out beautifully and I still have people talking about how much fun it was watching him add them to the painting. I've actually had two couples tell me that they wish they could do their wedding over so they could hire him! I highly recommend Alex.

I'm not sure how I came across Alex , but I am so thankful I did! He added something so special to my daughters reception. Everyone was in awe of him. Alex Harvie did a live wedding painting for our wedding reception in South Louisiana. From the initial phone/email contact with him, every part of the process was easy, stress free, and perfect! Alex and his wife Amy are a great team and coordinate everything so well, that nervous brides don't even have to worry about a thing! Alex was a HIT at our reception, he painted our first dance and we recently got the finished product. It is AMAZING!!! It is now one of my husband and I's most valuable possessions and such a great keepsake from our perfect day! I literally could not be more happy with our wedding painting. We chose not to do a wedding video, knowing we would never watch it again, but really wanted to have a memento from the wedding in addition to the photographs. When I first found Alex Harvie and checked out his portfolio online, it was EXACTLY what I was looking for! The paintings were all so fabulous. Throughout booking and the wedding, Alex and his wife, Amy were so kind and nice. All of our friends and family had so much fun watching Alex paint at the wedding. Us (and all of our guests) were seriously dying to see the painting after the wedding. Now that it is up and hanging, people are having so much fun finding themselves in the painting. Alex truly could not have captured the whole wedding in a more perfect manner than our painting. The painting really captured the entire party of our reception. Everyone keeps telling us how fun it was to meet Alex at the wedding and watch him paint. He is such a fun and bubbly person, we are so glad he was able to be a part of our big day. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars. If I had to plan the wedding all over again, Alex Harvie would absolutely be one of my first calls!

I look at my wedding painting each and every day and smile thinking about that night. Alex is amazing. His talent is unmatched. We flew him in from New Orleans for our wedding and it was worth every penny. A few of my guests had seen live painters before and they went on and on about how he was the best by a landslide. He took great care in making sure my family members and the wedding party were painted in the photo and his attention to detail made it so special. Having a live event painter at your wedding is an absolute must have, especially when your painter is Alex Harvie! He did a phenomenal job painting our special day. For the future brides out there, the cost may seem steep, but I promise you it was worth every penny! If I had to go back and make the decision again I would do it all over again. Having Alex paint our wedding was my favorite part of the wedding as well as our guests. I got tons of compliments from guests at our wedding talking about how unique it was and about how outgoing Alex was. Alex's painting was one of our favorite parts of the wedding. Our guests loved to watch him paint and he would paint guests in as they requested! He's an incredibly talented artist and we have the most beautiful image of our wedding to look at every day.

We are from Detroit, but wanted to get married in New Orleans. Like most people we saw him on TLC and was able to track him down. Alex and his wife were incredible to work with leading up to our wedding and getting things prepared to ship the painting back to Detroit afterwards. He showed up on time with his nice suit (paint stains included) and began to rock. He was without a doubt a hit at our wedding. We were deciding where to spend money and it was either a videographer or Alex. No question we made the right decision. His painting hangs in our living room and everyone that visits asks about it. It is also a lot of fun for wedding guests to come over and pick themselves out and tell a story about the day. You can't go wrong with such a unique, one of a kind, piece of artwork from your wedding.
