I arrived expecting traditional, structured lessons right away, but the first session was focused more on movement coaching, understanding how our bodies naturally move and how to build confidence before choreography. Anna uses science-backed methods that mirror the same neuromuscular and cognitive training techniques used by high-level athletes. She taps into muscle memory, balance, and coordination in a way that makes learning not only painless, but surprisingly fast. One of the biggest lessons I learned through this process is that dancing is a lot like life, sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow and trusting the process is everything. I’ll admit, after the first session I was a little unsure but in session two, everything clicked faster than I ever imagined. The lessons were fun to learn a mix of styles like swing, modified waltz, romantic dips, chinese ribbon dancing, and the exciting lifts. Anna took into account any previous injuries we had and ensured proper form to dance safely. We only had three sessions with her, but she believed in us and leveraged our very basic dance experience. At the end of the sessions, Anna took video of our dance and came up with helpful notes for each part of the song. With the videos, notes, and practicing a little everyday two weeks before our wedding, we dazzled guests. We had a lot of applause during the lifts! The first dance was our favorite part of the wedding, and we couldn't have done it without Anna figuring out how to dance to this unique song!
