We had PJ for our wedding and words cannot describe how happy we were to work with him. We had a relatively small wedding but even so he had the majority of our guest dancing and having a great time. We tried to be very organized but of course last minute things come up and PJ wowed us with his flexibility. He made our day so great and we were unbelievably happy to have him.

Before our wedding, I told him that I didn't think we had a dancing crowd (because I didn't think we did). Turns out that I was wrong! Our 65-person wedding went an hour longer than I thought that it would, and the dance floor quickly filled with people and stayed that way for the remainder of the reception. Two great big thumbs up!

We didn't expect the dance floor to be so packed, but the folks at Magical Sound saw the energy and kept the party going. We even had wedding crashers from a wedding downstairs come up because they heard the music! Recommended heartily and without reservations!

They provided us with an organized packet of song lists and a wedding itinerary, which helped me to zero in on what they needed to do the job. They gave us a brief but detailed description of the services they provide (Dennis is a Dj and saxophonist, while Kyle sings live and DJ's as we'll). Their price was very reasonable and they seemed intent on making the day whatever we wanted. Dennis followed up with me several times before the wedding to check in on things and even attended our rehearsal to provide music and assist us in our officiant's absence. I could see that he was committed to making the day perfect. All calls/emails/texts were returned promptly by Dennis or Tim (unlike too many vendors who get down payments and disappear). HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: They were amazing. We had Dennis play and Kyle sing throughout our cocktail hour and every guest stopped to tell us how much they enjoyed their sound. It didn't stop at cocktail hour, as they sang and played the night away, while also incorporating our music requests and selections during dinner and dancing. Our dance floor was never empty and I have had countless inquiries about the music at our wedding. Lastly, in addition to playing music, Dennis and Kyle were very helpful in coordinating the evening. They helped us line up for introductions and made sure the ceremony went off without a hitch. They were such an asset to our night and I would book them again in a heartbeat! He is also very flexible as we kept changing things up until the actual day as to the processional, the garter toss, etc, he was able to get everything straight. We also had alot of items that he needed to MC for us before dinner was served and he had everything in order, keep things moving and we actually ended up with some extra time for the party because he ran a tight ship for us. Long Story: We contacted Magical Sound after we found other vendors to be very expensive, and friends who DJ to be unavailable. From the beginning, our DJ Tim, was accommodating to our every need. We weren’t sure about the time of the reception, and he was flexible. We weren’t sure about a cocktail hour with jazzy music, and he was flexible. He gave us an up-front rate per hour and for services, and nothing ever changed. Magical Sound gave us suggestions for songs, and lists for us to fill out for songs to play or definitely not play. As the ceremony came closer, we were in constant contact with Tim, and he was happy to do whatever he could to make things work. On the day of the wedding, we had several “audibles” or things that we changed on the fly, an extra toast, a song for the Pittsburghers after the Ohio State “Hang On Sloopy” song played, and lots of other tiny things that we mentioned two minutes before it happened and he picked up on and made look seamless. By the way, if you’re looking for a song to get young and old on the dance floor “Apache” (Jump on it) by Sugar Hill Gang is the way to go. Once people were out there, Magic Sound kept them there. He also slowly transitioned throughout the night by playing tried and true classics early, then as the older people left, playing more contemporary songs. This is true: our party was going so great our photographer stayed an extra unpaid hour to capture it. Magical Sound was a huge part of that party.
