We were very pleased with the carrot cake we received from Malinallis for our wedding. It looked wonderful and the buttercream frosting was delicious and rich! The cake was delivered on time and was perfect for what we wanted. We would recommend Malinallis to anyone for their wedding cake.

Veronica did an amazing job on our wedding cake! I opted for a naked wedding cake with 3 tiers (gluten free top tier). Our guests raved about how moist and delicious our cake was even on the day after our wedding. Veronica was a pleasure to work with; she answered my phone calls and texts immediately. Cake tasting went smoothly. She delivered our cake on time and blew my mind with how gorgeous it turned out. I had simply shown her a picture of what I liked and left fresh flowers for her to decorate our cake. I would HIGHLY recommend Malinalli Bakery and Bistro to any bride looking for a tasty and affordable (yet high end-looking) cake.

they did such an amazing job with both our wedding and the grooms cake. it all came out exactly how we hoped it would. the cakes tasted amazing! they were so great with us, especially accommodating us for the tasting since we now live in houston and had to travel back and forth to do wedding things. we were beyond happy with all they did for us.

I had a small, simple wedding with only family and very close friends invited. The wedding party consisted of bride, groom, maid of honor and best man. I didn't want a fussy, frilly cake, went to Malinalli's Bakery and Bistro, showed half a dozen pictures of something similar to what had in mind, two I disliked, handed over the cake topper and flowers and left Veronica to create. I had the most beautiful, wonderful, delicious cake that even though I didn't have a picture in my mind of what I wanted was PERFECT !!!!! It was exactly what I wanted and exceeded my expectations since I couldn't really express what I wanted. I have never seen so many guests take pictures of the cake at a wedding before and that was when it was just placed on the table, not the cake-cutting! I chose chocolate with cherry filling and buttercream icing and not one person asked for a smaller piece. I was giving out large slices and saw many empty plates. I highly recommend Malinalli's Bakery for any specialty cake you need, they definitely have my repeat business and many guests asked who had created the cake. I also tried their delicious almond croissant, as the chocolate croissant sells out early, that was delicious also. Veronica is very pleasant, allows you to express your ideas and makes helpful suggestions and is very easy to work with. Fantastic cake, Veronica. Thank you so much!!!

I absolutely loved my wedding cake. It came out exactly how I wanted it, and the cake was DELICIOUS! We had 3 layers, and all three layers were a different flavor- all of them tasted incredible. Veronica was so sweet and so helpful when it came to making decisions. We had so many compliments on the cake. I don't have a single complaint. The cake was delivered safely and on time despite our venue being a little confusing to get to. I would so choose this place again!!

A friend of mine discovered Malinalli Bakery & Bistro and introduced me to their delicious lunch menu and desserts! Great atmosphere and the service was excellent. After a couple visits, I invited my parents who also enjoyed their food and gluten free desserts. Little did we know, that one of the owners also baked wedding cakes! Since I was about to get married earlier this year, we test tasted and reviewed the designs for two cakes (bride & groom). She did an outstanding job with both cakes and they tasted just as wonderful as when we tasted them at the bistro. The cost was very reasonable and the delivery of the cake stress free. Would recommend to other soon to be married individuals!

If you are looking for an elegant and a classy looking cake that taste good and at excellent price Malinalli Bakery & Bistro is the place to go! Veronica did such a beautiful cake. Initially I did not know where to go; so after looking online and watching a video of her work, I decided to contact her. I am so glad I did it because my cake was very pretty, taste delicious and it was delivered without any problems and on time, even-though my venue required 45 min of driving. Besides, she Is very friendly and easy to work with, not to mention her excellent taste to decorate, if you want; she definitely can give you input on what could look better!

Malinalli came as a recommendation from a close friend who also chose them for their wedding day. Veronica and her husband Allen were very professional and accommodating. Veronica prepared an assortment of flavors and fillings that were all very amazing. Her husband refers to her lovingly as the Butter Cream Queen and the title is well deserved. She is also very talented and original in her cake designing skills. If I had to choose my favorite thing aside from my husband about our wedding, it was my cake. Although I didn't get to enjoy an entire piece at my wedding, my husband and I took a moment the following day to really appreciate how wonderful it was. I ordered a three tiered cake ( two layers were apricot cream filled while the largest was Bavarian chocolate). So delicious and the price was so reasonable. Without a doubt, Malinalli was an excellent choice and I'm so happy "I did"!

If you want your dream cake, you've come to the right place. I met with Alan and Veronica not really knowing what I wanted the final result to look like. I had colors, size, and shape all in my mind so I brought a picture of my "dream" cake. I simply asked if they could make something similar, and to my surprise they said they could replicate the cake exactly like the picture. But instead of fondant icing, which usually has a harsh taste, they would use butter cream and make it look like fondant. I brought my fiance and mother to do the tasting since I am gluten free. They both inhaled the samples and said we didn't need to look further for a vendor. We ended up with 4 different flavors for the different layers: gluten free chocolate for the top, cinnamon, Italian cream, and almond, I think they were. I felt that the price for a 4 layer cake, a grooms cake, a cake stand and delivery fee was extremely reasonable. Plus the top layer was gluten free and could have fed 16 people! The cake was the focal point of the room and everyone kept ranting and raving about not only the way it looked but the taste as well. To die for. I made sure I got to keep all the leftovers, and I am so glad i did!

A perfect addition to our steampunk wedding. We tasted cupcake versions of several flavors, and selected two: carrot cake and vanilla raspberry swirl. Veronica looked at our inspiration pictures, and she worked with us to come up with a plan for a 50-serving cake in our price range. The cake was even better in person! Completely stunning (and delicious!) Delivery process was flawless even though we didn't decide on delivery until three days before the wedding. I couldn't be happier with Malinalli!

Malinalli Sweet Swirls Cake – Veronica and Alan were excellent and accommodative in every aspect for our wedding cake. We brought our own personal decorations for the cake. Veronica created magic, and it was exactly what we wanted for our wedding cake. The cake was beautiful, moist, delicious, and affordable. Hello Brides! I recently used Veronica at Malinalli Sweet Swirls to make our cakes and cupcakes for our wedding in February 2014. Aside from being one of the sweetest people I have ever met, Veronica and her husband are both tremendously talented and very knowledgeable! I had the best experience working with them! After searching for wedding cake bakers throughout the San Antonio/hill country area and not having any luck finding anything in our budget, I came across Malinalli on Facebook; her cakes were beautiful. I initially contacted her to request pricing and was shocked at the info I received-it was so informative and her prices were fantastic! I thought that I had surely misunderstood her, as all the other estimates I received were hundreds more than what she quoted. When we met for the first time at the cake tasting, Veronica and her husband were so nice and professional! We could tell immediately that she was very experienced in both the business side and the baking side of things, and was very helpful with both. I couldn't decide which 3 flavors I wanted to try, so she made 5 different flavors and brought a lot of different fillings. She even brought 'off the menu flavors' that I had specifically requested. My Mom and I LOVED every single option we tasted. They were all some of the best cake we had ever eaten-so moist and unique! It was so hard to decide which flavors to choose, so Veronica educated us as to which flavors are usually the most popular with guests and which flavors are the most appropriate for winter weddings. Because we couldn't decide which we liked the best, we ended up with a 4 tier bridal cake and 4 small grooms cakes with 8 doz coordinating mini-cupcakes, just so we could have all the flavors! In terms of the design and decoration, I did not have a clear idea of what I wanted for the brides cake. I brought a photo of a cake that I loved but it was incredibly extravagant with lots of detail - it was a 'dream' cake that I was sure would be too difficult to make and would be way out of my price range. When she saw the photo she fell in love with the cake too and was determined to make it work for me! We discussed changing a few things to accommodate my budget and she suggested a few modifications that would make it fit into my 'theme' a little better. We left the cake tasting so excited-I could not wait to see them! When our wedding day finally came and we saw the cakes, WE WERE BLOWN AWAY and so were our guests!!! They were absolutely beautiful! Our family and friends raved at how moist and 'gourmet' all the cakes were-they were truly unique! We also got compliments from the other vendors on how helpful and diligent Veronica and her husband were in setting up the cakes that day. They stayed for about 2 hours until our cake table was perfect!! I hope this review encourages you to go meet with Veronica-you won't be disappointed! We loved working with her and she truly cares about the happiness of her customer! Besides being so creative and helpful, she bakes the yummiest cakes!! In fact, we froze some of the extra cake after our wedding and have been snacking on it. After a month our cake is still the best cake I have ever eaten!!!!

Hi Brides to Be! My wedding day has come and gone- what a wonderful and busy day! The talk after my wedding was all about my bridal cake and groom cupcake tower! I want to let you know about a wonderful wedding cake business- Malinalli Sweet Swirls. Veronica and Alan surprised me when they agreed to bring my wedding cake all the way from San Antonio to the hill country in Northwest Austin for my wedding day! On the big day, they packed up the baked cake layers and arrived early to the venue. Veronica combined the layers and created the frosted four layer bridal cake with many of my wedding party stopping to watching in awe...(even though they were supposed to be getting ready!!!) Alan worked on setting up my cupcacke tower for the groom. It was so cute- with a baseball them, complete with a "baseball hat" cake on the very top, under all the cupcakes. As far as value, even with the added travel charge, their price was much lower than any cake designer price in the Austin area. Budget friendly, exceptional quality- in looks and taste! Yum!!! and very easy to work with. I would use them again in a heartbeat... especially to try all their cake flavors!!! Thank you so much for everything Malanalli Sweet Swirls!
