Maple & Ash in Chicago is the perfect place to enjoy a wedding reception, whether it's a seated dinner or cocktail party. The Atrium. Glass doors surround this semi- to private space that is situated in the middle of the dining room. The glass doors are covered with velvet drapes and sheer curtains, and may be closed or left open. A beautiful pearl necklace chandelier is the focal point of this stunning venue, hanging in the center. The Atrium accommodates 50 seated or 75 standing guests who enjoy spectacular views of the city through the skylights set in the 24-foot ceiling.
The State Street Room. To the side of the dining area is this semi-private space, which is separated from the rest of the restaurant by velvet curtains. The vibrant room overlooks State Street and is ideal for a cocktail reception, accommodating 28 seated or 40 standing guests.
The Main Dining Room. For a small wedding reception where privacy is not a concern but a bustling atmosphere is a must, up to 20 guests are able to dine together. A long dining table is set up and the reception takes place among other diners.
The Lounge. This luxurious venue is next to the dining room and features sleek cocktail tables, velvet seating and a stylish bar area. Up to 40 guests are catered to for a cocktail reception.
The Wine Cellar. For an intimate reception of eight guests, this venue is a memorable place to celebrate in. The couple and their guests enjoy small bites and champagne or wine tastings.
The Patio. Up to 80 seated guests enjoy dinner in open surroundings on the patio. Alternatively, 120 standing guests are accommodated for an al fresco cocktail reception.
What You Should Know
Maple & Ash has numerous tempting dishes to please every guest at the wedding reception, including salads, meats roasted over a live wood fire, raw and chilled dishes, caviar, roasted seafood, the Butcher's Reserve, entrees and classic side dishes.
Begin the meal with a king crab or roasted beet salad, or a starter such as hearth roasted shrimp, prime beef meatballs or French onion soup. The raw and chilled selection offers yellow fin tuna tartare, oysters, Alaskan king crab legs and tenderloin steak tartare. A choice of caviar is served with warm blinis, capers and potato chips.
Seafood lovers enjoy fresh shrimp, oysters, clams, scallops, king crab and lobster. The fire-roasted dishes are priced per person, by semi-pro tower or by baller tower.
In their signature style, Maple & Ash cooks numerous dishes in the wood fire, including steak frites, ribeye, rack of lamb, New York strip, wild Alaskan halibut and Skuna Bay salmon. The Butcher's Reserve offers filet mignon and a Japanese strip loin, among other dishes.
The entree selection includes short rib stroganoff, roasted chicken, ricotta agnolotti and pork Milanese. These tasty dishes go particularly well with the classic side dishes of creamed spinach, onion rings, whipped potatoes and hand cut fries. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available.
The couple and their guests may prefer to be surprised by their meal selection. Maple & Ash offers a set price per person for random dishes to be served. The dessert menu is just as scrumptious as the main menu, with a selection of sundaes, a coconut cream pie and a strawberry rhubarb puff, among others. The Sunday brunch menu not only includes select dishes from the main menu, but has bubbles and cocktails for the couple and their guests to wash their delicious meals down with.

The Atrium, located in the center of the dining room, features 24 foot ceilings with skylights that look out to the city and a show-stopping, custom made pearl necklace chandelier that hangs in the center of the room. Considered a semi-private space, the Atrium is surrounded by glass doors -- that can remain opened or closed -- with long semi-sheer curtains and velvet drapes.
