Megan is certified by the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, and ordained with the Universal Brotherhood Movement. She officiates at weddings of all sizes and at venues throughout the region. She speaks Spanish and loves officiating bilingual English-Spanish weddings. e we had some family members that didn't speak English and they were touched that they were able to understand what was being said.
Megan also researched my husband's and my culture and found a couple of rituals that we performed during the ceremony. I have personally never seen that at any wedding, so I was so happy with how it turned out.
Megan is a very calm person so with the stress of the wedding, it was nice talking to her because she would make us feel at ease.

We are not a particularly sentimental couple and we had a few complications, like not wanting a religious ceremony, but wanting to honor some aspects of our family’s religion. Megan rolls with every idea you have and brings them to life. She takes your story and your personality and captures it beautifully. Our guests were truly blown away and I received so many comments about how beautiful our ceremony was. If it’s any indication, I’ve already referred three couples to Megan, because they were so impressed. It bears noting that on top of all this, Megan is just a joy to work with and to be around. She took the guesswork out of what a ceremony is "supposed" to be, but helped us create a unique and individually tailored ceremony that many in the audience thought we had wrote ourselves, because it indeed used many of our own words. But we could never have woven it together so cohesively ourselves. She was super warm friendly and receptive to all our suggestions and edits and clearly wanted it to be a ceremony that we loved. And, we did the whole process with us in South Carolina for a wedding in Ithaca, NY! You may not know you need a Megan Barber but you will thank yourself afterwards for how much easier and more enjoyable you just made your wedding planning process.

distance, Megan got to know us through phone calls, Skype, and a couple questionnaires. She used those interactions to create a custom ceremony script for us. She gave us opportunities to provide input on drafts. She worked with our other vendors on timing, audio, and logistics. And come the day of the wedding, her facilitation of the ceremony was truly expert, her delivery was flawless, her presence was calming, and she had our guests (and us!) both laughing and crying. Of all the compliments we’ve received about our wedding, the most have been about Megan’s ceremony. Guests complimented how personal it was, and that they felt like they got to know our story as a couple better. We couldn’t agree more. Not only was Megan an absolute stress-free pleasure to work with, but she was incredibly professional and demonstrated so much care and integrity throughout the process. We are SO appreciative of the time and thought she put into our wedding and we LOVED our ceremony.
