Michael Benson Band was really one of the best that I have collaborated with in a long time. They play a tremendous variety of songs and covered a wide range of tastes and interests. They were completely engaged with the audience and played at high energy the entire time on stage. They were the perfect band for my clients event. Michael and his team were a pleasure to partner with and they knew how to read the crowd throughout the night. Grateful to each of them.

We highly recommend the Michael Benson Band for anyone planning a wedding or event. We originally booked the band for our May 2020 wedding and Michael was great at navigating the whole Covid wedding madness situation and we are so pleased that it all worked out in the end! The band was a pleasure to work with and we had clear and open communication while planning the wedding. Darelle was not only an incredible singer, but she was amazing at helping keep the evening flowing, checking in with us and our day of coordinator making sure things were running on time as we wanted and she kept things moving smoothly and help us moved guests between the different parts of the evening. The band was absolutely brilliant and played a huge part in making the day unforgettable - great tunes, great singing and they were able to pick the right songs to match what was going on at the time. Guests are still talking about how incredible the band was, friends are wanting to plane events just to have the band play at them, the band was absolutely incredible!!

Everything about Michael and his band is professional and absolutely first-rate. They are all top-of-the-game musicians who can play in every genre. Michael is a fantastic vocalist, and a pitch-perfect emcee to boot. From my guests I’ve heard nothing but praise for him and his band, who have entertained at my two daughters’ weddings. Michael also makes the logistical details easy. He does a lot of the work for you. There are many, many good reasons that reviews of the band are filled with superlatives. If I had another daughter who was getting married, my first call would be to Michael, to save the date.

I have been a Wedding Planner/Coordinator in the Seattle area for over thirty years now and have planned more weddings than I can count, some of them low key and others very high profile. From a Planner’s perspective there are two vendor types, the back-end, which includes the catering, linens, dishes, bar and other rentals and the front-end, which is typically the band, florist and other entertainment. While all are equally important it is the band that drives the energy of the reception and the Michael Benson Band is by far the top band in Seattle. Michael and his band understand the flow of a wedding, know what music to play and when to play it and he keeps the dance floor packed. The variety of his music is unsurpassed and he will keep the over 50 crowd as equally entertained as the 20 something people at your wedding. Michael and his band are super entertaining, super fun and he is a pleasure to work with but by no means should you take just my word for it. Please look at his other reviews from his past brides and grooms and you’ll see how happy they were. I have been working with Michael for almost as long as I have been a planner and he is my first choice when any of my clients are looking for a high energy band. I can highly recommend him and he would be who I would use if I was planning my own wedding.

The first call after we got engaged (literally days later) was to Michael. We had been to several weddings where the Michael Benson Band performed so we were familiar with their talent and knew they were a must-have for our wedding. But there is a difference between being a guest enjoying the band and being the client hiring the band. I can now tell you that he is equally amazing behind the scenes as he is on stage. So responsive, flexible, professional and made our day more fun than even we had imagined. The MBB's trademark is turning your wedding into a party and we had a party we'll cherish forever! One of the highlights of our wedding was having this band! They were INCREDIBLE. Everyone loved them and kept asking us the name of the band and where we found them, everyone from our younger friends to even older generations of people. They rocked the house and everyone was dancing and having a great time. I couldn't have been happier with our decision to hire them for our wedding. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Everything was perfect from the piano playing during the ceremony, to the trio at dinner for light background music, to the reception, and all the MC'ing in between was top notch.

With all the many fine bands there are to choose from in New York, some of my friends were puzzled when I flew a band in all the way from Seattle for my daughter's wedding. But I had heard the Michael Benson Band play, and from that night on, I knew that when my daughter got married, that band would be my choice. Every band member is a skilled instrumentalist, and together they pack a bigger sound that you would think five people could possibly produce. They are equally at home playing jazz classics over dinner, or playing rock classics for dancing. Their playlist of hundreds of songs encompasses tunes for every age and taste. Most importantly of all, they genuinely enjoy themselves. Their enthusiasm helps get everyone out on the dance floor and gives the evening an indelible air of joy and celebration. Bandleader Michael Benson is an excellent vocalist as well a master at the keyboard. He is also well-spoken, lively and upbeat, which means he is a superb master of ceremonies-not something every musician can say. He is also very good at managing the business of the band, which means he is a pleasure for parents and wedding planners to work with. We were able simply to give him a date and some general idea of the music we wanted and leave the rest up to him. The result was a flawless performance, the climax of a day which my daughter said was the best day of her life. I don't think there is a better recommendation than that. There is certainly no more that a father of the bride could ask of a band.

As music lovers and performers, this was a high priority for our wedding. Michael worked closely with us before our date to make sure that we had a song and style selection that we were happy with. Their song selection is huge and covers every genre I could think of so we had a lot of freedom crafting our experience. They even went out of their way to learn a few new songs for us. Beyond just being talented and professional, it was clear while they were playing that every member of the group was really having fun along with the rest of the party. They contributed to the energy on the dance floor and did an impressive job especially with their transitions, launching from one "I have to dance to this!!" song into another so the whole night an absolute blast. The Michael Benson Band is amazing! They are so professional and great at what they do. If you are deciding between a band and a DJ, go with a band - and go with Michael Benson. It brought our guests whole wedding experience to the next level. MBB did our ceremony piano music, dinner background music, and reception/dance music. I wouldn't change a thing! By far the best wedding band in Seattle.

Simply the best!!!! You can instantly tell why they have won Seattle's best for so many years. Michael Benson and his team were professional, considerate, and fun throughout the whole process. Best of all, our guests danced the WHOLE night!! Everyone was so impressed with the band--many commented that it was the best wedding band they'd ever seen! They play such an incredible variety of music--every song they did was awesome and had us singing and dancing. HIGHLY recommended if you want your wedding to be the best party ever!!!!!

This was the second wedding that Michael and his band performed for us. It was absolutely fantastic in every respect. His range of music genres and the energy he puts into each song is amazing. The dance floor was packed the entire evening. Not only that but he is a truly nice guy who takes a personal interest in each wedding he performs at. By all means, get him if you can!
