We find the fusion of flavors inspiring; We love being able to showcase all the things amazing about different cultures and dessert. To us inclusion and diversity is a main goal. All ingredients are of the highest quality and locally sourced. Our pastries, desserts and cakes are known for their delicious flavor, texture and modern edge. Because we believe sweets should taste as good as they look! Just as America is a fusion of cultures and flavor so is our take on our menu selection. Owner

Hey There! I'm Mirla. Owner and Pastry Chef at It Started With a Cupcake. I have a Fine Arts BA from Kean University, and Culinary Degree from HCCC. I then went on to graduate from the prestigious Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionery Arts, in Toronto, CA. Where I specialized in cake design. wedding cake design is where I get to really push my creativity and combine my Fine Arts background, my Culinary training and my foodie soul to create delicious and beautiful cakes at the studio. My team and I have over 15 years of experience, so you are in good hands.
