From providing custom floor plans to coordinating with the planner and trusted vendors, we are here to make your planning process as smooth and stress-free as possible. ​Nestled on 4.5 acres in the heart of Hilton Head Island, The Mitchelville House was originally built as a replica of General Ormsby Mitchel's three-story home in an adjacent neighborhood which is now known Port Royal on Hilton Head, during the Civil War. This house celebrates him as the general to one of the first freedmen's town in America, known as Mitchelville. The main house comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests, with 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, including our luxurious Bridal Party Suite that is designed for on-site events with 4 hair and makeup vanities and has furniture placed and chosen to enhance bridal portrait shots. The adjacent Barn doubles as a large indoor event space, which houses a full bar with a two-tap kegerator and refrigeration, as well as our Groomsmen’s Lounge, where the groom's party can get ready and relax. From the live oak trees, modern elegance, historic allure, and beautiful coastal scenery, Mitchelville Place is the embodiment of rustic romance and southern charm in the Lowcountry. As an all-inclusive vacation rental property, we are designed to host large private gatherings in an intimate setting where guests can conveniently stay where the action is.
