I did get a gorgeous dress, but ended up going over budget. The store and seamstress worked with me and did not jack up prices for unneeded alterations. They did a great job helping find the right dress and let me take my time in each dress. They listened to what I liked and did not like about each dress and tried to find the right fit for me.

Modern Brides provided tuxedos for the groomsmen and our adorable herald for our destination wedding in Miami, Florida! Wide selection, reasonable prices. We had enough time to get the menswear back to Huntsville without incurring additional charges. Highly recommend!

When I walked into Modern Brides I was not prepared to find my wedding dress at all! That's because I was convinced I had already found it in Birmingham. Well my sister and the consultants encouraged me to try on a few more dresses just to be sure, because the dress I was set on buying was the first dress I tried on! So the consultant listened to me carefully about my vision of what my wedding would be. After trying on a few dresses that just didn't seem to fit, she said hold on I have a dress in the back that was a showstopper at market, just have an open mind. She brought out this magnificent champagne gold tulle ball gown by Enzoani! She had listened to my vision of a "Royal Christmas" wedding with purple and gold as my colors. It was completely different than everything I had tried on. I was shocked by the color, but I tried it on! The rest is history. I received so many compliments on that gown! My photographer said there's beautiful gowns then there's exquisite gowns like these! The best part is I paid about $1500.00 less than what I would have paid on that other gown! The owner is also the alterations expert. She did a wonderful job adding about an inch in "cleavage coverage" for me since I am especially well endowed. Great price for a beautiful dress and wonderfully cheerful and helpful employees. My only complaint was that the bustle that they sewed in did not hold my heavy train and so I had a bit of trouble walking around at the reception...

I bought my gown at Modern Brides in Huntsville. Everyone that works there is so nice and very, very helpful. The experience was not awkward or forced; I didn't feel like the girls helping me were lying to me about my appearance in the gown or anything. The seamstress was very accommodating and did everything we asked with the first alteration. There were no problems with ordering, alterations, appointments, or pick up. I definitely recommend this shop!

Although I found the dress I wanted at a different shop, Modern Brides was the only one who offered to order it because it was being discontinued. They were very helpful, and got my alterations done extremely quickly.

The sales girl told us to pick dresses. Took some to the fitting room but didn't help me try any gowns on. One of my bridesmaids did. Said they couldn't order anything for me because the wedding was less than 6 months away after I was told on the phone that it was plenty of time. Found a dress I loved, but there was no discount even with it being off the rack.So we shopped elsewhere.

I cannot even begin to say how much I love Modern Brides!!!! They can do anything! It doesn't matter what it is, they can do it! I wanted a modest dress and they took the dress I picked and when I got it back it was PERFECT!!!! I had many people tell me it was the prettiest dress they had ever seen! I would recommend modern brides to anyone.

We tried several stores but came back to Modern Brides. We could not have been more pleased. The staff, Selena, Mallory and Ms. Pat, were so helpful with our selections and alterations for the wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses. It's a quiet shop, and they do not put a lot of pressure on you to get anything. They even helped us get ready on the day of the wedding! So glad we didn't settle for a bigger, louder, chain store with pushy salespeople for comparable prices. Highly, highly recommend Modern Brides.

the ladies there were wonderful

Modern Brides was so helpful. I had a hard time finding the perfect dress, they let me try on as many as I needed. Once I narrowed it down to three she let me re-try on until I found the perfect one! It ended up being one I would have never picked but she encouraged me to go outside my box and it was perfect. They also did all my alterations there.

They provided the alterations on my Allure couture dress. The first go round wasn't as smooth as I would have liked - the strap alterations on my beautiful dress were a total mess. The lady they contract out just double the lace and sewed it together! The owner of the shop did my second fitting and personally fixed and pressed the dress. It turned out PERFECT!!! Ask for her to do your work if you have a choice, it was worth it.

The shop was fast at ordering my dress, and I was able to get it more affordably than from the designer store. Staff was a little rushed in my dress fittings and seemed to want to get me in and out. Took a good while to add a bustle and do a 1 inch hem, and was a bit pricey for alterations.

I only tried on 3 dresses and I knew that the first one I tried on was 'the one'. This caused me to pick this bridal shop without trying any others. The staff there is very nice and always called me by name. However, 'hidden fees' kept popping up here and there. Also, when I went for my final fitting, they had completely forgotten to do a few things. The alterations weren't great. I had to have my bridesmaids do touchups on the embellishments the day of the wedding. That was after a bridesmaid had to take the dress to the shop to have it steamed. They claimed to have steamed it but everyone freaked out when they saw it the morning of the wedding. Thankfully I missed that drama. Then the bustle... It did not hold up. It had fallen out before I finished dancing. I would not use them again.
