The entire staff at the Nassau Inn were amazing! The food and beverage director Virginia and the sales team (Jamie, Eddie, and Roger) were incredible to work with! Our day was prefect because of them. Eddie went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was everything we imagined. The execution of the event and the service was amazing. The banquet servers did an incredible job! The venue is gorgeous, the food was delicious, the service was amazing and the hotel accommodations were great. The Nassau Inn and Palmer Square are the perfect photo backdrop for your special day.
The Nassau Inn was the perfect venue for our reception. The colonial style of the inn was simultaneously welcoming and elegant. Jamie and Roger are the main people we worked with and they made the planning process and the day of the wedding so easy. They communicated with us frequently leading up to our wedding and made everything very organized and easy to keep track of. The food was SO GOOD! We recommend the Korean BBQ braised short rib. It was a hit. Princeton is a lovely place to have a reception. Lots of good places to take photos and things for guests to do before/after the wedding. It was also so convenient to have the hotel block right upstairs.
We had our wedding here on October 27th 2023. The room was nice and the location was great. I was very disappointed in the service on our wedding day. I felt that details were neglected and communication was terrible. We were assigned two people for the day of the wedding. The first coordinator we had went completely unreachable after the ceremony. He told us he would meet us after with drinks and cocktail hour food. He met us gave us champagne and completely disappeared for 45 mins. This was extremely frustrating as neither of us had eaten. We went to cocktail hour and ended up missing all the food and weren't able to eat until dinner which wasn't until 930 at night. The first coordinator reappeared for introductions and then immediately went missing again, only to reappear and introduce the coordinator for the remainder of the night. It finally came time to cut the cake. Which proceeded with the second coordinator dragging the cake table over to the sweetheart table, almosting knocking over the cake. If it were not for my dad getting hold of the cake it would have been on the ground. Not only did she almost drop the cake but she then proceeded to yank on the floral arch almost knocking it over and then pushed the sweetheart table, knocking into all the floral arrangements in front of the table.
In addition, the bartender was completely unaware of how to make a simple negroni despite the venue being made aware of the signature cocktail ahead of time.
The next morning we went to go get our cake topper from the front desk. The staff at the front desk looked completely clueless and had no idea what i was talking about. Finally, someone was able to find after searching several areas. It felt as if there was no communication among the staff.
I had brought my concerns to the event coordinator, who reported they would follow up. our concerns were later address by the inn. We were provided with an apology and a gift certificate for the incident.
Any questions?
We had the best experience with our wedding at the Nassau Inn. Our coordinator Michelle was amazing throughout the whole process. The food was so good, the space is beautiful and cozy and the staff was awesome. We had so many guests tell us they loved this venue
Got married at the Nassau Inn in August (2022) and we are so, so, so, happy. As a very anxious control freak of a bride, I stressed myself out many times during the wedding planning process, but Jaime and Kadie were always right there with answers, support, and kindness along the way. No detail or question was overlooked (and trust me, I had a LOT of details and questions) - these girls took care of EVERYTHING! We really appreciate how patient, accommodating, and efficient the entire staff was to us from the time we booked all the way through the wedding day/night. We originally chose the Nassau Inn because it was affordable for us, local, and had on site accommodations for us and our guests. The food was exceptional, service was outstanding, and all of the event spaces are just beautiful. Bonus points for its proximity to Princeton University campus, where we took the most gorgeous and breathtaking wedding photos. Highly recommend!

Lindsey!! Thank you so much for the great review. You were such a pleasure to plan everything with, and I am so happy your day went well. :) I can't wait to see your professional photos! We agree, the University is a breathtaking background, r...
ight across the street. We are all so grateful to have such wonderful brides such as your self to be a part of what makes the Inn such a special place.

Overall I had a beautiful wedding at the Nassau Inn. The food was delicious and the ballroom was beautifully transformed. The catering team took care of all of my decor and put everything in its perfect spot. My only complaint would be that the payment would be more upfront with gratuity. My family and I were a little stunned when we received an invoice after the wedding requesting more money after all payments were made. If payment was more clear and thorough, we could have saved some aggravation.
Other than that, our wedding day was perfect and everything (up to the point of the payment) was taken care of without a hitch!
We had our wedding reception at Nassau Inn a week ago and we had a great time. Michelle. our coordinator, is the best. She took care of everything and even helped us out with reception decoration and guest book installation (we bought a special guest book that needs to be installed beforehand). The food was great. The rooms are nice and classic. All my guests enjoyed the reception. Most importantly, the price is pretty reasonable and transparent. I would highly recommend Nassau Inn to all my friends.
My husband and I chose Nassau Inn for our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and post-wedding breakfast. Why? Because it is the perfect venue for everything. A charming historical Inn with great decor, in the absolutely beautiful town of Princeton, the Nassau Inn made our wedding dreams come true. The Yankee Doodle Taproom also made the perfect place for the afterparty! The wedding packages offered include a delicious array of food options (at much better prices than what we found elsewhere!), and Jaime Wolf and her team took care of all the little details that would have driven us crazy. They were fantastic, answering all our wedding questions and fielding last-minute requests, and took a ton off our worry list. Nassau Inn has an experienced team, and knows how to add the special touches which made our wedding even better than planned. We could not recommend more highly.
Engaged couples: Look no further for the venue of your dreams.
Working with the Nassau Inn was incredible. I signed my contract pre-Covid and we needed to reschedule 2 times. They couldn't have been more accommodating as we navigated those challenges. The planning of the wedding was organized and stress-free. With many thanks to Jaime for helping to keep me calm and offering suggestions when I was uncertain about different decisions. I'm so grateful for her.
We also held our rehearsal dinner at the hotel and we were so pleased with how delicious the food was. It made us even more excited for the food for our wedding!
Michelle and Kadie were our rehearsal/day of coordinators and they too were wonderful. They kept the day on track and everything running so smoothly. Brittany was our Maitre D and she continued keeping the event running seamlessly. They all made a point of making sure my husband and I and our guests were taken care of throughout the night.
We also hosted a breakfast for our overnight guests and, once again, the food was delicious. It was just what we all needed after a long day of celebrating the day before!
Many of our guests have reached out to us expressing how wonderful everything was:
The food: impeccable, delicious. We had several guests with food restrictions and the hotel made every effort to accommodate those needs
The ambiance: warm and romantic. We barely needed any extravagant decor because the hotel has such incredible charm, we wanted that to shine through.
The accommodations: clean, comfortable, and relaxing (I fell in love with my bed and pillows!)
The staff: professional, welcoming and considerate. We had several guests with physical disabilities and Ryan was a god-send for when those guests needed assistance with elevators and stairs.
Ryan also played an integral role throughout each part of our wedding overall. He made himself available for any help or insight we needed while planning and for the day of. He went above and beyond to ensure our overall experience was a positive one, and he succeeded.
Lastly, the setting is like out of a classic Hollywood movie. Literally picture perfect--photographer approved! The square is top notch with sweet boutiques and eateries--excellent for guests to explore during their stay.
We are still beaming from our big day. We keep saying how perfect it all was and we can't wait to start a tradition of visiting the hotel for our anniversary. The Nassau Inn truly made our wedding the wedding of our dreams, and from the bottom of our hearts: thank you
My husband and I got married at the Nassau Inn yesterday, and I have to write this review immediately because we had the absolute best experience working with Melissa Dill and her amazing team.
My now husband and I had planned a big wedding for June 2020, and had to cancel due to COVID-19. We quickly gave up our dream wedding due to the pandemic, but Melissa made our perfect wedding day a reality, even during these difficult times. We invited 40 of our closest family and friends, and we had the most spectacular special day, while staying safe, wearing masks, and social distancing throughout the Inn. She was so communicative and accommodating and was absolute dream to work with. She made me feel so special and supported throughout the process, and I still can’t believe how lucky we are to have had such a special wedding day.
If you are looking for a beautiful accommodating venue, in the most gorgeous town, book the Nassau Inn immediately !!! :)
Both my husband and I are Princeton alumni and wanted to have a venue close to the University Chapel where the ceremony was taking place. The Nassau Inn was the perfect location for us. We got the most beautiful photos and the staff was great. Melissa did an outstanding job attending to our every need. The day of the wedding was not stressful because we knew the big day was in good hands. It was so nice to just get to enjoy our big day without having to worry. The dinner and reception was fantastic, everybody loved the food and the staff really spoiled us. I would highly recommend the Nassau Inn.

Karla!
Thank you so much for the lovely review! It was truly my pleasure as Donny and you were wonderful to work with it and I'm elated that you were able to enjoy your "special day" with your friends and family! Your photos are amazing, you...
looked stunning, we cant wait to share them!
All the best,
Melissa
We had a 3/30/19 wedding reception at the Nassau Inn. The room rates were reasonable, and it allowed for our guests to enjoy the celebrations with us. Every person who we worked with was helpful and accommodating. I felt comfortable about asking questions and making requests, while also feeling that if I forgot something, Jaime or Melissa would take care of it. All of our guests had something great to say about the event. The food was fantastic, too. It is the perfect spot for out-of-town guests to explore Princeton. Thank you for the perfect wedding experience!
The Nassau Inn served as a great venue for our rehearsal dinner and post-wedding brunch, and the primary wedding hotel block for our guests. We highly recommend it for these functions. Melissa Dill did a great job communicating with us about the rehearsal dinner and brunch, and was very accommodating with our requests. Stephanie Nichols was excellent at putting together our wedding hotel block, and was very responsive. We really appreciated how convenient it was for our guests to be able to easily walk around downtown Princeton and to our wedding.
We hosted our wedding reception at the Nassau inn last December and 100+ of our guests stayed at the Inn. The venue itself was a perfect setting; quant, charming, and picturesque, especially with all the holiday decorations setup in Palmer Square. Melissa served as our venue event coordinator, and was in constant contact with us throughout the process. Melissa excludes enthusiasm and her tenure with the Inn has made her an expert at coordinating events within the spaces that the inn has to offer. We had so much fun ironing the details of our wedding weekend with her. Aside from the reception, Melissa also helped us facilitate a Friday night welcome party in the tap room, and a post wedding brunch - if we asked, she made it happen. During the events, Nicole and the event team catered to us and our guests consistently to make sure everyone had what they needed. Everything ran on time, and was setup perfectly, just as it was originally relayed to us. Jaime and Stephanie were our point people in rooms blocks, and in accommodating our family and friends comfortably at the inn. They were both so easy to work with, and were so responsive. Given that the inn is the only hotel in town, we were pleased to be able to have nearly all of our out of town guests accommodated at the hotel. We were so well cared for the entire weekend, as were our guests; from
the bellhop, to the front desk personnel to the servers, the entire staff was so lovely and outstanding. We love the Nassau inn and plan to celebrate our anniversaries there in the future!
We can't say enough positive things about the Nassau Inn. First and foremost our coordinator Melissa is fantastic at what she does. She is professional, organized and detail oriented. Everything we ever mentioned throughout the planning process was noted and the entire evening was perfection. She ensured we were taken care of every step of the way. She responded to emails in lightning time and was there the day of to make sure the day went without issue. The service was impeccable, we did not go more than 5 minutes without the staff asking if we were comfortable, needed a refill etc. We truly felt so special on our big day. The food is incredible and we received so many compliments from our guests. The food you receive at your tasting is the exact food that is delivered at the reception. Our reception and cocktail hour were more than we could have ever dreamed of thanks to the incredible staff at Nassau Inn. The venue itself is just beautiful and the location is perfect, especially for out of town guests to explore downtown Princeton. Every single staff member from the front desk to the waiters were professional and congratulated us. We can't say enough about the Nassau Inn, book them for your event and you will not be disappointed.
We had our rehearsal dinner at the Nassau Inn on 9/28/18 and it was the perfect place to celebrate!! The staff was extremely helpful during planning and the event itself. They even had a mic/projector set up for speeches. We loved the historic charm of the Nassau Inn, and it was super convenient for our guests staying there for the wedding. The food was also really good, all of our friends and family enjoyed it and had a great time!
We got married 9/29/18 at the Nassau Inn and absolutely loved it! We had a smaller wedding (70 guests) which was held in the Palmer Room/Witherspoon/Lounge. The ceremony was outside in front of the red door. Everything about the Nassau Inn is so charming and we just loved the history of it. The space was perfect for an intimate wedding and the service and food was amazing. I have to add that the food tasting was so nice. We had a private room and Melissa was great to work with. She is so on point with everything! We worked with Jaime throughout the process and she was absolutely amazing – so sweet and thorough, always quick to answer any questions. My family and I loved her. Our wedding day we worked with Toni and Nicole and they were both fabulous! Toni was always there to ask if I needed anything and everything went smoothly. The entire staff was so kind, professional and accommodating. There was another wedding on the same day as ours in the ballroom. You would never know because the space was on separate floors so we never ran into them. I would recommend though booking their valet service if your wedding falls on a busy weekend. They had recommended we do that and we regrettably opted out. There was a minor parking issue the day of and while it worked itself out - some guests did end up missing the ceremony (which is totally our own fault). We defiantly regret not booking the valet, as it defiantly would have been worth it for us. Overall we have zero complaints and couldn’t have picked a better venue. We highly recommend them!!
Our wedding at the Nassau Inn was a complete dream. Melissa and her staff were beyond professional and did everything they could to make our day perfect. From the initial tour, to the tastings, to assisting with guest rooms, and finally to the most perfect day we could ask for - the staff at the Nassau was amazing. The food was beyond delicious and there were plenty of options to fit all dietary needs. Would highly recommend over and over again!
My husband and I cannot thank the team at Nassau Inn enough for the beautiful wedding we had!
We knew we wanted to get married in Princeton, and Nassau Inn’s location was perfect, right in the middle of downtown Princeton. The venue itself is lovely, and our guests loved its class and charm.
We also wanted a place with top-notch food, and Nassau Inn did not disappoint. Our guests still rave about the food, two months later.
Service was excellent. The staff was so accommodating with one-off requests and went above and beyond expectations, which was deeply appreciated!
As far as planning went, the team made it as easy as could be, which was an extra plus, since I was wedding planning long-distance while in grad school. We worked with Jamie Wolf during the bulk of the planning process and with Melissa Dill on the day-of. Both were such a pleasure to work with!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to Jamie, Melissa, and the rest of the team at Nassau Inn!
Our wedding was a beautiful day and Melissa was such a pleasure to work with. The only complaints- she left our reception not long into dinner and left another person in charge who forgot to serve the cake. Also, the staff had a very hard time keeping our room block straight. But overall it was an amazing experience.
The Nassau Inn was the perfect spot for our wedding! We have always loved Princeton, so it just made sense for us to have our wedding day in Princeton. We were married at a church in Princeton that was walking distance to the Nassau Inn. This was very convenient for our guests. Between the ceremony and reception, our guests kept busy at local restaurants and shops, while we were off taking pictures on Princeton University's campus. Cocktail hour was amazing! Melissa Dill, the wedding coordinator at the Nassau Inn, made sure that my husband and I got a plate of food and a drink each. When the reception started, the party really began! The Prince William Ballroom was the perfect size for our guests!! The food was impeccable and the service was amazing. It was awesome that everything was right in Princeton and that people could spend the night at the Nassau Inn. The Nassau Inn made sure that our wedding was beyond our expectations, and it was!
We had our reception at the The Nassau Inn, and their team did a fantastic job making sure we were taken care of from the time we first contacted them through the end of our event. Melissa Dill and her team are true professionals! She was so responsive to our questions and helpfully guided us through the planning process while allowing us the freedom to create the event we envisioned. Throughout the wedding weekend, the staff anticipated our needs and we didn't have to worry about a thing! We got so many compliments from our guests on the food and the hotel and event staff. I wish we could do it all again!
We got married on 7/15/17 and from start to finish, Melissa made the process fun and easy. We live out of town so things were more challenging and we asked that Melissa run a lot through my mom (who lives local) and she was so accommodating and willing to help however she could. On the day of the wedding Melissa left early because she wasn't feeling well, and Tasha took over; Tasha was just as excellent and made sure my husband and I had the night of our lives. The venue itself is beautiful and allows for so many good photo-ops, but in reality the service we received is what makes the Inn stand out in my mind. Everyone was so friendly, professional, and easy to work with, and I would recommend hosting events here to anyone!
We just had our wedding on A Friday night June 30, 2017! I can't not say enough about Melissa Dill, Natasha and all the staff at the Inn! From the elegance of the hotel rooms to the amazing set up for a ur outdoor ceremony, to the beautiful reception in the Prince William ballroom! It was my fairy tale and it came to life that day! You will not be disappointed!
We got married on 6/9/17. The wedding was perfect from start to finish. Melissa Dill worked with us for over a year to make sure everything went smoothly and was easy to coordinate. We got married on the Terrace, had cocktail hour in the Senior Room, and had the reception in the Ballroom. The food was amazing, the staff was absolutely amazing, and all of our guests complimented us throughout. We had a breakfast there the morning after and the food and service was absolutely amazing. The venue is in a great location for the guests. There are tons of restaurants and attractions for people staying there. The rooms in the Inn are very nice. The vendors they recommended were great. All in all, the wedding was perfect and I can't thank them enough for making our special day so perfect and memorable.
I got married 12/31/16 at the Nassau Inn and everything was perfect! I worked with Melissa and she was amazing throughout the process. We used the lobby 2 for cocktail hour and the Palmer/ whitnerspoon rooms for dinner dancing. We had 45 ppl and it was perfect for our intimate wedding. The food was even better at the wedding than the tasting. The event staff was professional and accommodating. The holiday decor was warm and enchanting. The photos we got to capture in front of the red door and Christmas tree in Palmer square are breathtaking. I would definitely recommend.
We have a wonderful wedding reception & dinner at Nassau Inn. Overall, the service from Nassau Inn is quite thoughtful. They not only respond our requests quickly, but also actively remind & help us a lots of extra details of wedding banquet that we totally forget (WITHOUT extra charge). The price is reasonable, and we highly recommend anyone who seek wedding banquet to consider Nassau Inn.
We were THRILLED with our experience working with the Nassau Inn. Everyone we dealt with was accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process, especially our event coordinator, Melissa. She went above and beyond for us and we will forever be thankful. Our guests loved the location of the Inn and that our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and after-party was all in one location. HIGHLY RECOMMEND using the Nassau Inn for your wedding!
They did a fantastic job planning us an event that fit in with our budget and the size we were looking for. Everyone was super professional and the event ran super smooth. We didn't hire a wedding a planner so the Nassau Inn staff functionally took on that role for us and made everything really simple and straight-forward and easy. It was a low stress day and I would highly recommend this venue.
Response from the Vendor on 09/23/2016
Thank you for your kind words. Congratulations on your recent wedding. We hope you will come back and visit us when you are in town!
Our wedding at the Nassau Inn was absolutely fantastic. Our guests loved that the entire event was in the same location - the ceremony, reception, after party, accommodations, and morning after brunch were all in the same place - right there in beautiful, historic downtown Princeton. We got married outside, and strangers along the street literally lined up to watch me walk down the aisle and cheer. Melissa and Jamie were fantastic - extremely responsive and accommodating. They paid careful attention to all our requests and were willing to work with us to make our night perfect. I cannot think of one thing I would have done differently. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at the Nassau Inn!
Working with the Nassau Inn was absolutely incredible. I think the best way to describe the team here is that they are true event professionals - from the sales/contracting process to the planning to the execution, the team has done and seen it all and knows exactly how to make your wedding flawless. I am very organized and type A, and each time I asked them a question, they were two steps ahead of me. On the day of the wedding, my mom and I were worried about nothing because we knew the staff had it all covered. We worked with Jaime Wolf throughout the planning process and Melissa Dill was our day-of coordinator. Both of them are fun and warm but know how to get stuff done, which I totally appreciate. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the Inn, which made it super simple. An added bonus is that most of our guests stayed at the hotel, so the venue felt like a hive of activity all weekend. We have received nothing but wonderful feedback about the wedding, and I know it was in large parts due to the level of organization and experience of this team. Thank you for everything!!
We chose the Nassau Inn to have our ceremony and reception for our wedding. Melissa was our wedding coordinator and she was so easy to work with! She really knows what she's doing, offered great guidance and always got back to me promptly. She kept everything on schedule the day of the wedding and set up the venue beautifully with the decorations we provided. Our wedding was very "DIY" and thanks to the Nassau team everything looked very classy. A big plus for us was having the Yankee Doodle Tap room on site. We had a lot of family and friends traveling from out of state and didn't want the party to end when the reception was over. We all headed to the tap room and got to really catch up with a lot of our friends and family in a more intimate setting. You also can't beat the location. For our guests many came earlier in the week or stayed for a long weekend to enjoy the Princeton campus and the local hiking trails. It was everything we hoped for and we had a blast just as must as our friends and family did. I would recommend this venue for any affair no matter how classic or casual.
We worked with Jaime Wolf at The Nassau Inn. She provided comprehensive wedding planning including day-of coordination. Not only is she kind and warm and responsive, but she goes above and beyond in so many ways. From helping us understand the contract to advising about various choices to attending carefully to so many details to responding quickly to phone calls and emails, I can't imagine a better experience with anyone. The Nassau Inn is a lovely setting with a variety of rooms available depending on the size of your wedding. We used the Terrace for the ceremony and the Senior room for the cocktail hour and the Ballroom for the reception. We also had lovely suites for the bride and her bridesmaids and for the groom and his groomsmen to get ready. The Nassau Inn is full service and so they provide tables and chairs and linens as well as delicious food. The cost was reasonable. It was chilly for the outdoor ceremony so the Inn, at Jaime's direction, threw in hot cocoa and apple cider. I could go on and on. I can't recommend Jaime Wolf highly enough. She is an absolute treasure!
To be honest, we didn't look anywhere else when it came time to look for a wedding venue. My husband was raised in the Princeton area, so we knew we wanted to get married near Princeton. The Nassau Inn has a beautiful charm to it that really cannot be recreated. The entire staff was absolutely wonderful, but I wanted to give an extra 'shout-out' to Melissa. Melissa made the planning process so easy. She was always available to answer questions. She made my husband and I feel at ease.
The food was very good and the cake was awesome! The cake was included with our wedding package and let me tell you, it was delicious! I'm typically not a fan of wedding cake, but this was on a whole other level. All of our guests kept complimenting the cake.
We couldn't have picked a better venue to have our wedding. Thank you, Nassau Inn!
Our wedding was at Nassau Inn at the end of June, and it was absolutely everything we hoped for. First, working with Melissa was delightful. She was so helpful, friendly, and did an amazing job at making sure we got everything we wanted and that our day was perfect - she even made sure my husband, who LOVES to eat, had his own special menu and everything he enjoyed most at the tasting. The atmosphere at Nassau Inn was exactly what we wanted. It's beautiful inside and out, the décor on the inside is classic but modern at the same time. The Princeton area is an awesome place to get married because it has beautiful surroundings and makes for excellent pictures too. We loved that there are affordable on-site accommodations available and we did not need any type of shuttle bus. Nassau Inn helped us make our wedding day perfect, we'd recommend it to anybody!
We had a wonderful experience with our June wedding at the Nassau Inn!
Planning was seamless and easy and working with Jaime was an absolute pleasure.
Both the ceremony and reception went flawlessly and the food was great! We had our ceremony outside on the terrace, and our reception in the Prince William Ballroom.
We had our cocktail hour on the 2nd floor lounge, which is has a very historic / charming feel to it.
Additionally, it was so convenient for all of our guests as most of them stayed at the Nassau Inn. It was great having everything in one place. The Nassau Inn is in within walking distance from the Princeton train station.
It was also just so much less stressful having everything in one place to not have to deal with rentals, outside caterers, etc.
Really blown away by the Nassau Inn. I assumed it would be classy event, but I honestly was amazed by the staff & food quality- this is coming from a food snob :) (I was very nervous about this to start) The Palmer room and the Lobby are absolutely the perfect spot for an intimate 70 person wedding, I barely needed to decorate! Great pictures around the area as well. Rooms were so nice, our suite was fabulous. It was incredibly easy to have such a high class event, I was stunned to find out how little I had to do compared to my sister's wedding a few years back, who was married outside in a tent and had to rent EVERYTHING. Not one complaint to be had.
There aren’t enough words to praise the Nassau Inn!
Our wedding was all we could dream of and more. We waffled a little when trying to find a venue about the size of the wedding we wanted, but we knew we wanted a location between NYC and Philly, with historic charm, places to stay nearby, great photo opportunities, and of course great food! We saw the Nassau Inn and the smaller Palmer Room upstairs with Lobby 2 and fell in love. We did the pro/con thing but we knew –like you know your fiancé is “the one,” that this is where we wanted our special day to be. We chose the Palmer Room for it’s more intimate feel, allowing us to celebrate with just our nearest and dearest (about 80 people), and it was just what we were going for. The bonus was getting the lobby space up there as well as use of the patio right in front of the Inn’s iconic red door.
The location can’t be beat! We walked over to Princeton U’s campus and took some amazing shots. The food is stellar (as is the cake they get through their affiliated baker), and the staff is fantastic. We worked with Marianne and right from the beginning we knew it would be a great experience. She was responsive and patient with all our questions (even the weird ones), always made sure we will comfortable with the planning process and willing to help in any way possible. Marianne also helped us so much with ideas for little personal touches we wanted to incorporate but weren’t sure how. Marianne became not just our catering manager, but a friend. Jaime helped us with our room block and was wonderful as well! She made sure we understood the room policies, accommodated some strange family concerns, and we had beautiful suite for the night of the wedding (and as the bridal suite the morning of).
As mentioned, the food is great! Unlike many couples we actually got to enjoy our meals, the staff makes sure you’re taken care of and get to eat your meal. The whole catering staff that night was fantastic. We got to enjoy our food and our reception because we knew there was nothing else for us to worry about: it had all been taken care of. None of our guests had a single complaint the whole evening! In fact they said it was one of the best weddings they’d ever been to, and one family member even admitted we may have set a bar. We didn’t set out to, all we wanted was to have a wedding that was uniquely us, just how we envisioned, and that people would say “yes that was them,” and that’s exactly what we got – all thanks to the Nassau Inn and its staff.
If you’re looking for the perfect place for your wedding, with great atmosphere, great food, and the best staff you could ask for to help make your dream day come true – look no further than the Nassau Inn. We wish we could do it all over again!
My husband and I were planning our wedding while we were in a long distance relationship. This meant a lot of long and sometimes confusing emails between each other and the banquet manager. All the staff we interacted with were extremely friendly and patient. Melissa was our main contact and she answered all of our questions in a timely manner and patiently listened to all of our concerns. Melissa was unable to be our banquet manager on our wedding day but her colleague, Jerry, was equally knowledgeable about our wedding and helpful!
The weather on our wedding day was extremely fickle and kept alternating between rain and sunshine. Jerry listened to our stressful uncertainties about whether or not we wanted use our indoor back up. In the end, when we decided to have a indoor ceremony, jerry acted quickly and we had our ceremony in the Senior Room and our cocktail hour in lobby 2. The back up plan was executed wonderfully and both rooms were beautiful. I managed to steal a few bites of hor d'oeuvres in between greeting the guests and the food was delicious.
Our reception was in the Prince William Ballroom and the room was set up beautifully and all the details we wanted were present.
I did remove one star from service because at least one of our guests was given a vegetarian meal instead of the steak he ordered. (But he said the vegetarian meal was delicious!)
We chose to have a room block with the inn and setting it up was extremely easy. Jaime, who helped us with our room block, was great at updating us on how many rooms were booked and whether or not we needed to increase the number of rooms.
Thank you to the staff of Nassau Inn!
This review is so hard to write because I just don't know where to begin - Everything was so fabulous! The ballroom has just been redone and is beautiful, the food was delicious, the Inn itself is beautiful and full of history, and the guestrooms are a delight. But if I had to choose, I guess I would say that I have 3 favorite things about this venue:
1) It's very affordable and tastefully decorated. It seems to be hard these days to find an affordable ballroom reception hall that leaves out the tacky extras (like ice sculptures and LED lighting), but the Nassau Inn is actually classy.
2) Location Location Location! You couldn't ask for a more beautiful town to get married in than Princeton. My husband and I were even able to quickly hop over to the nearby Princeton campus and took some really beautiful portraits. But the biggest draw was that my entire 80 person family was coming from out of town, mostly flying, and all found it easy to get to, and there was lots for them to do in the down-time. Most of my guests were even able to take the train directly from the Newark Airport to Princeton without an issue!
3) I saved the best for last: The staff was amazing. I worked with Keir for about a year to get my party just right, and she was fabulous. She had great ideas, was quick with her responses, and beautifully navigated a sticky in-law situation. She was there for me every step of the way, from seeing the venue for the first time, to carrying my train as I was about to walk down the aisle. She helped the event run as smoothly as possible, and she's very sweet and funny to boot! Jamie, the guestroom coordinator, was also very accommodating, cheerful and easy to work with.
If I had to do it all again, I'd do it here for sure.
My husband and I chose the Nassau Inn specifically for it's ability to provide a cozy and elegant setting for our smallish wedding (50 guests). The food was superior- tasty and well prepared rather than haute cuisine, and the packages we had to select from were wonderful. The Inn was gorgeously decorated for the winter holiday season, and the grand fireplace lent a merry air to our cocktail hour. The staff was courteous, helpful, and outgoing. Keir, the banquet coordinator, went above and beyond to help us make the little personalizations to the packages that made our night very special and unique to us. Our guests loved the craft beer bar offering especially the Nassau Inn's willingness to include brews that were not part of their listed offerings. During our stay, they fulfilled our need for stools and high chairs, room service and umbrellas, accommodated all of our vendors' requests and schedules. I couldn't have dreamed of a better location for our intimate Winter Solstice wedding.
The staff and the Nassau Inn did a wonderful job for our ceremony. They were so helpful and extremely accommodating with every aspect of the big day. Princeton is a beautiful town and the Nassau Inn is a beautiful hotel right in the center so it was very convenient for our out of town guests. Our pictures that were inside and around the Nassau we're beautiful as well.
My mother-in-law planned a wonderful rehersal dinner at the Nassau Inn. She is not from the area, and from my understanding, the coordiantor there was very helpful and followed up with all questions in a timely manor.
The food was very good - certainly more food in the buffet than the 20 guests could even imagine eating - probably enough for 40-50 people. The room looked very nice and the hotel, overall, is a neat Princeton experience and piece of history.
My only concern was the price. Granted, it is Princeton, but by simply serving less food at the buffet (also creating must less waste) the price could have been reduced significantly. Although it was a beautiful experience and more than we could have expected for our rehersal dinner, I felt bad that his parents spent quite a bit of money on it. (The buffet proposal we first saw would come to probably close to $2000.00 for just shy of 20 people for the room and food.)
I had an amazing experience at the historic Nassau Inn. Catering Director Marianne was so accommodating and really customized our package to our budgetary needs and our personal preferences. She was great to work with- prompt to return emails and phone calls. Prices were very reasonable and the food was just fantastic. The Nassau Inn was perfect for a beautiful Princeton wedding. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The service was incredible, the food and drinks were raved about all night, and we stayed within our budget.
We booked at the Nassau Inn, and while the person who had booked our wedding left shortly after, we had a seamless transition to Keir. She was amazing; helpful in every way, responsive to my numerous emails, helped make even our special requests happen, and stayed late the evening of the event. The rooms were beautiful and the staff was so helpful while booking all of them. The food (filet in particular) was fantastic. I'd highly recommend for your affair.
The only trouble I had was Nassau Inn switching who was in charge of my reception without letting me know. Besides that, everything was perfect. Jerry was great to work with, the food was delicious (although we weren't that impressed at the tasting), the set-up is perfect, and the surroundings are wonderful and very convenient. Paying for parking isn't ideal, but wasn't a big deal overall. The room is beautiful and a great size for my wedding of 150 people.
We had our wedding at the Nassau Inn and it was absolutely the best day of our lives. The wedding coordinator/ catering manager at the Inn, Marianne, was fantastic. She was so easy to work with, professional, and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. We could not have asked for better service and help leading up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly. The ceremony and reception were fantastic. The food was excellent. The rooms that our guests stayed in were great. Would highly recommend this vendor for your whole wedding weekend.
We chose the Nassau Inn because of the close location to our church in Pennington, and because of the historic architecture. I worked with Marianne, the Catering Manager, throughout my entire planning. During this time, she was very PATIENT and ACCOMMODATING to my vision and needs. Even though my wedding was small, 40 people including bride and groom, Marianne never made us feel as though we were not as important. The service was HIGH QUALITY and STRESSLESS.
On the day of our wedding, 10-9-10, we, and the guests, were blown away with how the staff organized my vision. They worked very well with the florist and other vendors to create the warm family atmosphere we wanted. When I arrived, the videographer told me that I am going to love the look of the dining room. I believed him, because the reception area looked great. We chose the Palmer Room, which was naturally decorated with reds, browns, and warm lighting. The guests loved this area of the inn. It is perfect for the bride who is having a Fall or Winter (Christmas) wedding.
The hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, drinks, and cake were EXQUISITE. Our only complaint was the entree, as it did not taste like what we had for the tasting. It was not horrible, just not to our liking. Of course this one flaw will not stop us from recommending it. Overall, everyone enjoyed and filled up on everything else, so by the time it came to the entree, my husband and I were already full. I was also saving room for the cake. The cake was GREAT and YUMMY. Chez Alice made the cake for their venue. We had the Frasier and Mango Mousse....mmmmm...could eat some right now. We saved the top tier for our one year anniversary, so guess I can wait, or go into Princeton to buy a slice....mmmmm...
Overall, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND, the Nassau INN.
Service was phenomenol. Beautiful venue with excellent food. Wedding organizer was attentive and remembered every detail.
The Nassau Inn was perfect for us because it had the ornate style we were looking for, but could handle the capacity of our guest list (150+). The wedding coordinators, Maryanne and Tom, are complete professionals who will answer every question you have (no matter how ridiculous the question or how frazzled you become!). They treat your wedding with consideration and diligence. The Inn is reasonably priced and has a variety of packages from which to choose. Plus, the Princeton area is gorgeous! What's not to love?!
